We had researched various places and Mazer seemed the most reasonable in price. So we went with them. Once we paid, our lovely salesman never bothered to answer the phone or return a phone call. The installation service waited almost a week before they bothered getting back with us about our counter top installation. Once we got them in, my husband was in the other room and the guys didn't know how to do what they were doing so they called another man who did. Then those two guys proceeded to fart and joke about how bad it was to each other. They charged us to unhook our dishwasher but never did. Good thing we didn't ask them to re-hook it up at $120 when they didn't unhook it in the first place. Then another man came the next day to do the plumbing and didn't take the sink like he was supposed to and no matter how many times we have asked them to take the sink and tried to call them we get no response. You get what you pay for.

The project had three components - new cabinets, new countertops, and installation of a new sink and plumbing. To sum up - repeat visits were required for each of these components in order to correct problems. I experienced problems in every phase of the project. To start, one cabinet was ordered incorrectly, delaying completion of the project by three weeks. I was also promised at the time of sale that I could get the details of the paint used for the cabinets, so that I could paint my old cabinets to match. When the time came to get this info I was then told the cabinet company would not divulge it. During install I discovered that the countertops were not cut to the dimensions we agreed on in the measuring preview visit. After install I noticed that the countertop was not level (was off by 1/8" per foot). The countertop subcontractor said this was because the cabinets were not level. The cabinet installer said that the cabinets had to be installed that way and that the countertop installers should have corrected for it. It was very frustrating to have two teams representing the same company blaming each other for the problem. It was corrected after much insistence on my part. The hole for the drop-in cooktop was cut too large the first time, requiring re-cutting and re-installaton of a whole new piece of countertop. The sink faucet stopped working within three hours of the install, and I did not receive "all new plumbing from the wall out" as promised at time of sale, so this too had to be corrected on a followup visit. The sink undercoating sound dampener was offgassing extremely strong chemical smells for weeks after install, creating sinus problems. I had to hire someone to correct the problem (use of cheap sound dampening pads containing asphalt-like components). Because of lack of attention to detail throughout this project, I cannot recommend this company for kitchen renovation work.
