Jon Knight Plumbing

My husband called him and scheduled a time to come to the house and he arrived as scheduled. Jon Knight checked under the dishwasher and said that it had been installed wrong and leaking for years. ? He turned off the water to the dishwasher but did not repair it. The bill was $352.00. When my husband called to discuss the outrageous bill and lack of services, Jon Knight wanted to make a deal to let him install the new dishwasher and reseal the sink at a lower cost. My husband said his integrity is terrible and not welcome in the house again. At first glance his reviews seemed good but after checking more than one place this situation has happened to other customers.

The plumber was prompt in returning call and making appt. He was friendly. It went downhill from there. He performed a service of cleaning out my whirlpool using common household products, knowing that it would not fix the problem and was essentially useless. Then charged an outrageous amount which was not discussed before hand or listed on invoice. He charged $ 175 a hour to clean a drain which consist of pouring cascade and bleach into the tub and turning on water. Total bill $295 for a service that did no good. He also took advantage to overwhelm me with problems and potential fixes that made it difficult to understand. I would not recommend this plumber unless you like to pay an very high price for useless services.

HE TOOK OUT THE OLD D/W, COMMENTING THAT THE PEOPLE BEFORE HAD PUT IT IN BADLY - CAULKED IT IN INSTEAD OF SCREWING IT TO THE GRANITE. SO THAT WAS GONNA COST SOME MORE (NOT SURE WHY - IT TOOK HIM 5 MINUTES TO PEEL THE CAULK OFF). INSTALLED THE NEW D/W, HAD TO GO GET A FITTING BUT IT WASN'T PUMPING WATER. FIDDLED WITH THE SOLENOID AND IT WORKED. IN ALL, HE WAS AT MY HOUSE MAX 2.5 HOURS AND THE PRICE DOUBLED. WHEN I RAN IT FOR THE FIRST TIME THE NEXT DAY, THE HOSE HAD NOT BEEN ATTACHED SECURELY TO DRAIN, SO I GOT TO MOP UP A DISHWASHER SIZE AMOUNT OF WATER OFF THE KITCHEN FLOOR. I CALLED HIM AND SINCE HE COULDN'T COME BACK THAT DAY (ON ANOTHER JOB), I ASKED HIM TO CALL ME THAT NIGHT SO WE COULD SCHEDULE HIM TO COME BY THE NEXT DAY. DIDN'T HEAR FROM HIM TIL THE NEXT DAY - BUT BY THAT TIME, WE HAD BEEN ABLE TO GET UNDER THE SINK AND FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. IN SUMMARY, WAS CHARGED DOUBLE THE AMOUNT QUOTED AND I HAD TO CLEAN UP A MESS CREATED BY SLOPPY WORKMANSHIP.
