The key technician came promptly, and was able to make the key using the locking mechanism! It works perfectly. And it was made on site, right then and there. The company not only did the job well, they did it promptly and with great efficiency.

They failed to show up on the schedule date (Monday). When I called, they indicated that I had the dates confused and the appointment was scheduled for the next day (Tuesday). I called on Tuesday morning, the day of the next scheduled appointment, to see if they would take a credit card and to let them know how many locks and keys were needed. They responded that they would take a credit card and were happy to get the information about the number of needed keys. They failed to show up on the second day and when called again said that it wasn't on the books. I gave up on the attempt to use them and used another company.

They were amazing. They came right out. When I called them Tuesday morning they were out that afternoon. They are honest people. Its a family business that has been in business almost 30 years. Very trusting. Very knowledgeable in what they do. My car keys were also stolen. the dealership was going to cost me 1200$ to re-key my car. They referred me to a man. He did my ignition key, door key, and reprogramed my laser cut computer chip key for 200$. Every thing was excellent.

Thank you Melinda! This door has been a problem since my husband originally installed it but he wouldn't admit that there were problems. It worked for him since he could man-handle it. But I couldn't make it work so I finally called Hoover. My only suggestion would be that Hoover provide a 2 hour window of when to expect the service. Since I don't work I didn't care personally but those who work would probably appreciate it.

The locksmith was about an hour late because of a misunderstanding regarding my location. She got to work immediately and checked every single lock with the new keys. She also made us copies of the keys.

After a difficult start, trying to get the work scheduled, Melinda came out today to do the work, and it went well. She took care of all 4 issues fairly quickly, locks work well now. I appreciated the time she took to do the job right. She is very skilled and knowledgeable in locksmith trade. Rate was fair for work done.

After a week went by and not hearing from Hoover Lock and Key I called to see if they had the parts. They set an appointment for the following week to make repairs. No one showed up at the set time so I called them. They did not apologize but had an excuse and rescheduled for the following week. Again no one shows up so I call again. Another time was set and again a no show. After three times of waiting and not even getting a phone call I drove to their store and picked up the repair parts. I will contact the manufacturer so they can get another company to make the repairs. I will pay someone out of my own pocket before I allow Hoover Lock and Key to do it. I realize things come up in any business but all you need to do is make a call if you can't make it. With three blown appointments I can only think this company doesn't care about other people or their time.

I called Hoover Lock and Key at 8AM on Thursday to schedule an appointment after seeing all the positive reviews here on Angie's List. They were booked for the day but told me they could come out and fix my problem first thing Friday morning. I waited until almost 11 before I called them after they had not showed up when I expected. I was told that I was on the schedule and they would get to me before the end of the day. I waited on them to show up until 5PM and they never showed up nor did they call me to let me know they wouldn't be making it. They will no longer have the opportunity to do any work for me in the future. I might have given them another chance if they had made a simple phone call to let me know they were not going to make it out, however now I will be hiring a different company.

Called and set up appointment. Melinda came as arranged and was in and out in 30 minutes. Did a great job. I highly recommend this company.

Arrived as expected and re-keyd 3 locks. Left and one lock did not work correctly, but called the tech and she immediately came back and corrected the issue.

Melinda came and thoroughly looked at all our issues and was able to do everything - and in every case better then I thought possible as the house is built in 1908 and has had some unusual things done over the years. She offered the solutions to problems in an organized and clear way, kept me apprised when things shifted. She spent a lot time here, problem solving and working, clearly not someone who goes the easy way to a solution but enjoys and is an able problem solver.

Melinda arrived and determined what our needs were. She did an outstanding job and went beyond the call of duty. She noticed that some of our indoor doors weren't closing well and fixed those without being asked. She also noticed that the lock on the outside of our front door was missing a decorative piece and added that as well, again without being asked. She was great from start to finish.

Very well. Melinda was exceptionally qualified to take care of changing the locks on our doors. With almost 22 years of experience, she instantly knew that the prior owner never rekeyed our locks, as she immediately recognized a part that is unique to locks used by builders that enables them to distribute a master key to employees. She was easy to speak with and knew exactly what we needed done. What a delight to have such a friendly and competent service person all in one. I will call on her company any time I have a future need for any locksmith service. Melinda would be my first choice to take care of the request.

I called Hoover Lock and Key at 5:00 p.m. The woman at the company took my info and put me on hold for just a few seconds. She returned to let me know that they would come out and unlock my daughter's car for $55.00. Two men from the company came to my home and were very friendly. I was extremely surprised when they arrived in less than fifteen minutes! They were here by 5:15 p.m. and the job was completed by 5:28 p.m. Very quick, very friendly. I would certainly call them again.

I found the best price out of everyone when I found Hoover. He was very fast and he had a very respectful attitude. He answered all of my questions very well and I would suggest to everyone that if you would ever need any locks changed or work done from a locksmith to use Hoover Lock and Key because you would be satisfied too.
