The initial roof repair went good and then I hired him for some additional work to be done. When he started that work he came late and some days difficult to get in touch with. He missed days without calling and later he wouldn't show up because he said he had no money for gas to come. He left the project unfinished and left a mess upstairs and in the yard.

Update (5/18/12): Still not able to reach Joey for faulty roof work he did. We want our money back! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I have been trying to reach him since September 2011, and today I found out his phone is no longer in service. I did a web search forr him, and I found him on an online list of convicts from a nearby city's police department! Terrible work and will not return calls! I hired Joey to do flashing repairs to our lower pitched/shingled roof and to repair a section of our larger flat rolled roof. The work done was not correct, and we had major leaks even after I had him come back several times to make changes. My neighbor complained about the way he had re-routed a gutter downspout to empty onto their property, but when Joey did not return my calls I ended up going to Home Depot to get supplies and make a temporary fix myself. I have since left him numerous messages and contacted the company that he does work for sometimes. They informed me that he generally does metal roof work and does not know how to do this type of flashing work. They also told me that several other people had called them to complain about Joey's roof work and that everyone was having trouble reaching him. I had also requested copies of his insurance and licenses, which he assured me he was dropping off at my apartment several times. He never did, and when I contacted his insurance company they said they had never heard of him. I signed a handwritten contract, and he told me one was being typed up and that he would drop it off later that afternoon. The contract outlined the work to be done and that the labor was warrantied for 5 years. I wrote him a check for a deposit and wrote him a check for the balance after I had him come back to make changes once to the work. The following day I called him again and suggested he stucco over the top of the flashing, so he came back to do that. A week later, we had heavy rains and the work he had done leaked severely. Since then I have not been able to reach him. I continued to try to reach him via phone, with no return calls. I left him a message telling him that I was frustrated and would be filing formal complaints against him. I just want to get our money back and protect other consumers from fraudulent work like this. Also, this business is not BBB Accredited, and when I called to verify their insurance they told me they had never heard of them.
