+ -1 moreProvider was quick and did a good job. He came out twice because HD did not order the handle that I had specified. He put on the handle that was sent and then came out again to put on the correct handle. Everything was great. This was from HD at the Galleria, not Hwy 280. For some unknown reason, this review shows up in the Window Treatments category and I can't change it.

countertops, cabinet refacing
+ 0 moreI thought that it was a really hard sell. When they came in I had no interest in finding about countertops. I was just interested in painting the cabinets. After doing the refacing I felt that I could have just painted. But their work was nice. I was very happy with the quality of their work. But I feel that they could have just painted the cabinets and not got new countertops as it would have been a lot cheaper. I was happy with the contractor that they sent out. They worked very hard to make sure that I gave them a good rating. Everyone they sent out was very good.
Description of Work: Home Depot did cabinet refacing and new countertops for me.

+ -1 moreGary, the representative did an excellent job is selling the shutters. The installer did an excellent job as well. Unfortunately, one of the windows was severely damaged and was not installed on the first visit. The installer did not install it (I support this). Another of the windows had some deep indentations on the top piece of trim. They came back out after about 6 (additional) weeks and installed the window the in the place of the damaged window. They had no recollection of the trim and did not replace the piece that was damaged. I had wanted to write a great write up and probably rate them much higher if 1) it hadn't taken 12 weeks to deliver and install it "almost" complete. and 2) they had finished the job

+ 2 moreThey put in a new dishwasher and got in a hurry and left my old one in my garage. They will not call me back to set a time to get this picked back up. I spoke with Newton who is the manager of the store. He wanted to send someone immediately and I did not feel comfortable with that. It took over a month to get a response. I had good work up until this point. They did a great job with the work but they just have not came back to get my dishwasher.
Description of Work: They did a lot of remodeling work in my home. They put in backsplash, sinks, flooring, appliances. They did countertop work as well.

+ 2 moreI can't say enough about the workers at the 280 Home Depot location--especially in comparison to the other home improvement store nearby. As I detailed, they're helpful with advice, pricing, know-how, and they always treat me with respect and attention. It just feels like a positive place to go...and that was important to me since I was really intimidated by this big store when I first started going there for supplies. They've easily saved me hundreds of dollars in my first year of home ownership.
Description of Work: We bought our first house in October 2009, and I bought our refrigerator at The Home Depot. A woman and a man working different days in the appliance section were both great help in answering my questions, comparing models, brands and helping me decide stainless steel vs. that painted on steel-look finish. I coordinated delivery there and they came on time & hooked up the water lines quickly--which is important because you simply can't be without a fridge for too long moving from one place to another. Good experience with that. After a few months, I went into the store and one of the great Home Depot employees at this store stopped what he was doing and offered help with the garage door openers I was looking at. He explained the difference between chain and screw openers and helped me choose one without pushing me for the higher-priced one. He explained the installation service for only $97 (!) and then hauled the box to the front and sat me with the installation people. They were great, too! Since I got it installed, there was some discount on the tax for the opener itself, which saved me about $15. I was just delighted with the grade-A service from beginning to end that day. Then the installation guy came out when they said he would and worked quickly. My husband had tried to fix our other garage door, so he asked the installer for advice, and it worked! $230 for that experience was a steal! Another day, I went in to buy supplies to build screens for all the windows in my house. I researched online and did all the measurements, but the Home Depot guy who helped me suggested the heavier-duty spline tool, which, once I started doing the job, I realized was a vital suggestion. I walked away and struggled to balance all these 7-foot pieces of aluminum frame in the cart, but they kept falling through the grates in the cart. Another worker came over and used electrical tape to wrap them all together so they'd be easier to transport. Another great experience at Home Depot. On a different trip, I was looking at roman shades and blinds for a big window, and looking through their custom blind choices on display. The woman was helpful in explaining the choices, but said if I was just looking for a basic solution there were several cheaper boxed options in the next aisle. I found a great option that fit my window perfectly and was extremely easy to install. So yesterday, I went in just looking at paint colors and getting an idea on what one room might cost to paint. The worker in the paint area was very nice and walked me step-by-step through all the decisions I'd need to make to pick the right paint. He helped me determine that I probably don't need primer and helped me calculate up how much paint I need for the room. His suggestions will actually save me money.

+ -1 moreThey did a good job! At the store, we worked with a rep to pick out the colors and the molding, and he explained the process to us very clearly. Then a worker from the company they hired came out to do the measurements, and was very professional, and two weeks later they installed a nice countertop, and it looks great!

+ 2 moreIt has been almost a year and the cabinets are still not right. The sub-contractor they use puts everything in with out leveling first. He has had to come back to re-do almost everything he has done. Sometimes more than once just to make the doors flush. Our microwave is still not vented and the same cabinet guy is trying to work us in. It has been so messed up I don't even care anymore. I never thought it would be this long or that they would only send out the same cabinet guy, who doesn't seem to care if it's done right only fast.
Description of Work: We had a new sink installed, new counter tops and cabinets. Microwave installation also.

+ -1 moreWe had someone tear out a door and enlarge the opening to make room for a double stack washer and dryer we bought. These blinds were great because they acted as a door where the bi folding door was to conceal everything. Home Depots contractors did a good job measuring and installing them.

+ -1 moreHome Depot did a professional installation with our new doors. The man who came out was really smart. He was a polite and clean cut individual. He had to make one minor adjustment to one of the doors, but he was very prompt to come back and fix it.
