Lie #1: The next day, I called Trane myself, and found out myself that my heat exchanger was still under warranty. They are all under a stock 20 year warranty, because they almost never break. Jerome outright LIED about the warranty so that I would opt to purchase a new furnace ($3800) instead of having the "broken" heat exchanger fixed. Lie #2: I found out that he not only lied about the warranty, but also, he grossly over-estimated the cost of replacing the heat exchanger to try to persuade me to just replace the whole furnace. Numerous times during our conversation in our living room, he reiterated that it would be best to just replace the furnace. This was likely so that he could scam me for the most money possible. Lie #3 – Here is the EVIL and CORRUPT: The picture of the hole in my heat exchanger that Jerome showed me came from GOOGLE IMAGES! FH&C uses FALSIFIED images to convince their customers to buy expensive furnaces unnecessarily. They use ridiculously cheap Groupons to get into your house so that they can fraud you out of a ton of money – Here is how I found out about all of this… When I called Trane and found out that my heat exchanger was still under warranty, they recommended that I get a second opinion from a Trane-certified dealer, because it is so rare for a heat exchanger to fail after only 8 years. Therefore, I called Herring Heating and Air, who sent out a technician the same day. I showed the technician the picture of the hole in my heat exchanger “taken” by Jerome at Freedom the night before, and he informed that it was impossible that this picture was of my heat exchanger, as the type of heat exchanger in the picture was not the same kind found in my model of furnace. He checked out my furnance and confirmed that there was no hole in the exchanger. He informed me that my problem was with a gas valve, which he replaced for $405, and my furnace once again works like brand new. That night, after finding out that Jerome had tried to deceive me, I googled “hole in a heat exchanger”, and I found the exact same image on GOOGLE IMAGES that Jerome showed me in the living room of my house and claimed that he took from within my furnace (The image was taken and posted to the internet in 2007 by a company in NC). This technician stood in my living room and lied to me, trying to convince me to spend $3800 on a new furnace for a problem that could be fixed in 20 minutes by replacing a gas valve. Furious, I called Freedom Heating and Air to demand an explanation. I talked with a supervisor, Mike Lester. Mike Lester told me that Jerome was one of his best technicians and he had never had a problem with him before. I sent Mike the evidence (the picture I took with my iPhone of the picture Jerome showed me of the “hole in my heat exchanger” AND the exact same photo taken as a screen shot from Google Images). Mike confirmed himself that my picture was authentic and that the image Jerome had showed me was taken off of Google. Still he made excuse after excuse for Jerome’s behavior. I called Freedom a few days later and figured out that Jerome still works there. In summary, I have undeniable evidence that Freedom is untrustworthy, and tried to deceive me with fabricated pictures and lies about warranties to convince me to purchase a $3800 furnace for a $400 valve problem. Jerome still works at Freedom because the company is corrupt up to the level of their owner, Mr. Johnson who personally covered up for Jerome in my complaint to the BBB, stating that the picture that Jerome showed me was just for teaching purposes. So, the owner of the company is involved in this fraud. Freedom Heating and Cooling is corrupt, and they should never be trusted in your home or around your HVAC. The pictures below are from a text conversation that I had with a FH&C manager, Mike Lester. In the conversation, he admits Jerome's fraud.

They tried to sell me a new system.

It went as planned. Andrew, Mario, Jesse & John arrived on time and did a very through & professional job of the installation and kept me informed of the progress throughout the installation. After the job was completed which took about 5 - 6 hours to complete they walked me through what job was performed, various features & safety put in place. They performed a cleanup of the work area and vacuumed the place before they left the premises. Freedom Heating & Cooling have provided me with 10 year warranty on compressor, coils, equipment parts & labor which to me tells that they back 100% on their product and labor and gives me a peace of mind that in the event something is not right they will take care of it with no further additional cost to me.

They came out on time and did a very professional job. I would call them again.

Found that there were several leaks and that it wouldn't have lasted through the Spring. A new heat pump was recommended and they helped me get it financed through the Power Board. Would recommend this company for all your air conditioning and heating needs. They are a reputable company and are not in the business of ripping people off.

Excellent service from estimate through installation

The gentlemen arrived a few minutes early which was fine with me. They were neatly dressed and we were very professional. They explained everything they were doing and were very neat.

Each year I buy a maintenance agreement. I think it works out to $198 for the year and that covers 2 appointments for 2 air conditioning units. If I had to pay for just the visit I think it would be $50 or $60. I have used them for years. They left the area clean. The young man that came was definitely wanted to make sure he addressed all my concerns. He seemed to work efficiently and it was a good experience.

I have used them for probably 10 years or more.

Called out to look at A/C not working. I got great service and customer service. I called them back out for a quote to have gas logs line ran from meter to logs, & was pleasantly surprised at the quoted amount. Again, I received great customer service and they answered all of my questions. I highly recommend this company.

The technicians used my bathroom and left my towels very dirty, which I don't think is very professional. I feel like the price was high. I was also told that someone would come back out after a year and change my filter and do a check. They never followed up, I finally called and they acted like they would have never promised to do that. However, I paid an extra $100 to have them come out.

I would not buy an entire system from them again because I think I over paid. However, I would use them again for my maintenance checks. The technician that came brought my grading on them back up.

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate. The guy on the phone seemed a bit short, and I was somewhat concerned as to whether he really scheduled me. I called today to confirm the appointment, and the woman I spoke with said that I was not in their system. They need to get some better people answering their phones. I took time off work to arrange this and will not do business with them again. They were not apologetic in the least.

They've always been very good.

The employee they sent arrived 1 1/2 hours after they said he was on his way. He did not know what he was doing and had to replace the our 4 month old vent leading out of the dryer because he tore it up. We had used this company twice before for the same thing and they did a good job. He would not listen to how the other people cleaned our vent from the outside until he was unsuccessful cleaning it from the inside of our house and thus blowing all the lent into our house.

They showed up on time but didn't bring a needed part so they had to go back to shop to get it which held up the work for about an hour plus. They needed to flush the A/C lines and discovered that the capacitor on this unit probably was bad but they needed a technician to find out exactly what was wrong. He said the compressor was bad and that I needed a jump start capacitor that may or may not work but that I should really buy a brand new heat pump for which he gave me a quote. I had recently had the heat pump serviced so I was skeptical. I said no to the new heat pump and the jump start capacitor since I didn't need A/C now anyway and that I was going to call the people who recently checked the system out. The installer eventually needed the heat pump to start so he could finish the work and he got a used jump start capacitor, installed it, and miraculously, the compressor worked! I feel that I was being sold a "bill of goods" regarding the "bad" compressor. The installer was correct when he said I only needed a new capacitor which was verified when the company that did the recent check came out the next day and confirmed I needed a capacitor but not a new compressor. In summary, the installers were fine, the product was what I expected and I'm satisfied with it but the "technician" left a bad taste in my mouth when he tried to sell me something I didn't need. For this reason, and not the product itself, I would not use them again.

I use them a lot because every now again they come to service the HV system. Sometimes it's the AC sometimes it's the furnace. They keep them up.

It went Great. Everyone did a Great job.

They never contacted me for the service.

It was okay. He ended up not cleaning some vent covers like I thought he would, but he was fine. I guess he had his tools to do that, but I had already taken the vent covers and screws off. I don't know that they did the cleaning because they were still in the same bag that I had them in. They were easy to work with.

They were fine. I think they came immediately.

They used it as a sales opportunity. They were not completely on time. They weren't terribly late, but they weren't on time. The technician tried to make a pass at my neighbor, which was just funny. He asked my husband if the neighbor was available. It was just funny.
