+ -1 moreWe had an issue last fall/early winter. We used Freedom Heating & Cooling due to the customer reviews. We have three HVAC units and initially we were happy with their maintenance and repair work - we then purchased a new HVAC unit for one that had failed. We also purchased during this time period a humidifier and UV filtration system for the main floor unit - I can verify we spent $3271.00 for this component but we actually spent about 7,000.00 during this time period (fall 2013 through early 2014). We initially were very happy with the humidifier and UV filter. However, this year as we needed to use the heating system the humidifier has not worked. We had our "annual service check" and we have also called them due to the issues with the humidifier. We have had them tell us that they ordered the wrong part and they "unplugged" the humidifier pending delivery of the correct filter... I still do not have the correct filter and still cannot use the humidifier. I am disgusted that I have thrown away over three thousand dollars for a system that does not work. I would not ever recommend this company - they do not stand behind what they sell and install.

+ -1 moreProvider noticed a hole in part of the unit that could have been leaking carbon monoxide into my home. He offered to replace the unit for a reasonable cost within the next day. Since I have a home warranty, I decided to let the warranty company actually do the repair. However, when my warranty runs out, I will definitely call this provider for my home heating needs. They were punctual and their findings were accurate, they weren't just trying to sell me a furnace.

+ -1 moreCalled them up on Monday, Jan 19 around 2 p.m., and got a scheduled appointment for 5-6. The guy was close by, so they rescheduled to 4:30. Met with him at the house, and went over the problems of the furnace. My dad and I had done some checking beforehand, and we told him what we though. He listened to the furnace, and agreed that it was a bad ignition. It was around 5:00 p.m., and he could not go to the store to get the part he needed, so he had to schedule an appointment for the next day at 11 a.m. He showed up on time, and the heat is now working.

+ 0 moreIt went well. As far as I could tell he did most of the above and told me the age of the HVAC I inherited when I purchased my house and said it still has many years left. I would definitely use Freedom again without question.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for the $69 for a Central A/C & Heating Inspection, Cleaning & Tune-up. The tech came out and spent an hour or more doing all of the below as far as I could tell. I also have a moisture /condensation tank as part of the HVAC that was disgusting that he cleaned and blew out. Check thermostat calibration Monitor refrigerant pressure Test AC & heating starting capabilities Test air conditioner & furnace safety controls Cleaning and adjustment of blower components Measure for correct air flow Tighten electrical connections Measure volts and amps Lubricate all moving parts Clean condensate drain Measure temperature difference between supply air and return air Apply protective coating Inspect for combustible material around furnace Monitor cooling & heating cycle Test duct system for carbon monoxide and natural gas leaks Inspect evaporator coil Examine installation quality Clean condenser coil Test exhaust system for proper venting Inspect and adjust fan belt tension (if applicable) Clean existing filter, blower motor air vents, and upper and lower combustion vents Check burners and heat exchangers for wear; brush clean burners Clean and test thermocouple for proper operation Measure and adjust gas pressure for proper operation

+ -1 moreFreedom is okay if I'm just getting an annual maintenance thing done, but other than that I won't deal with them. It took about an hour for them to complete the service. They always tell me that I need some work done when I don't necessarily need it done. They told me that I had a leak. I had the person that installed my new toilet upstairs check and he said that there was no leak. They always keep trying to sell me something I don't need.

+ 0 moreWe just moved into a new house and wanted to have the air ducts cleaned. I found a coupon on Angie's List for Freedom and it was a very easy process purchasing and scheduling the service. The time slot was 9-11 and the technician arrived right at 9. He was nice and courteous and went over everything he would be working on during the visit. It took around 2.5 hours. He had a few recommendations after cleaning everything, but was not pushy on purchasing extra items or services. We will definitely call Freedom again if we need heating or cooling needs!

+ 0 moreThe appointment was set for somewhere between 1-4 pm. Kory was there at exactly 1:00, to our surprise and relief. He was kind and intelligent and looked over everything that had to do with the heating and cooling system. He checked everything out and didn't even mind that I stood there asking questions the whole time. He was informative and took his time with my system. We liked him so much that we purchased a service agreement, because we decided that Freedom was to be our permanent HVAC folks.
Description of Work: Kory took all the panels off the gas furnace, and looked at everything, set one valve to blow less gas, tuned on the unit for the winter.

+ -1 moreThey identified the problem and I had contract with them to replace it that same day. They had somebody there and they did a great job. They got it all taken care of the same day so I was very happy and pleased. When they came out and inspected it and condemned it I made a couple of other calls but they just seemed to be the good priced and they took care of it that day.
Description of Work: The did an inspection and the clean up of the existing heating and cooling system and when they did that they discovered that the gas and all of it and they had to condemn it and installed a new unit.

+ -1 moreThe technician - Charles - was very friendly and professional. He went into the attic and assessed the problem. He suggested a solution to our ac problem, but after checking all the pipes in the basement said he would have to replace too much and would be too expen sive. He made another suggestion which he felt would work with what had already been done in attic. He had to go get a part and come back and then enclosed the tubing in pvc piping which got rid of the condensation. Put in larger pan and put in additional pan under pump. Also put in switch on unit which will shut off ac when water gets too high in either one. Also some wires on pump were not attached to unit which was a safety issue and he repaired that. I felt very good about what he did and felt the price was fair because it did take him additional time to get the parts needed.

+ -1 moreIt was not good. The deal was written inappropriately. They cleaned the vent but not all the ducts. He did exactly what his boss told him to do. He brought a shop vac to clean the ducts in a small car. They supposedly did the furnace tune-up but something went wrong and another company had to come out to fix it.
