Estes Painting

Took them most of a week to get all this accomplished and it looks great. Finished my OCD touch up spots with no issues. Rearranged aboard so it would look better. No complaints here, we have several jobs on a to do list and we will be hiring them again.

We had recently moved to Birmingham and purchased a home. It was in desperate need of interior painting and we wanted to complete the majority before the furniture showed up. We took possession on a Saturday, Mike came over Monday morning and they were painting Tues - Thurs, which included a brushed suede in the master bedroom, ceilings, crown molding, and walls. The furniture showed up on Friday... The workers are professional, courteous and very precise. The "dream team" was awesome - I've never seen painters work so diligently. We couldn't be happier.

Upon calling for an estimate, Estes Painting was quick to come to my home and give me an estimate. They began work the day after we closed on our house. They were prompt, professional and easy to work with. The attention to detail, quality of work and dependability are the reasons that I will definitely be using them for future home projects.

Very well. This was a remodel of a duplex. We had one side rented sooner than anticipated but Estes was able to focus efforts and get ready for move in. Removal of popcorn ceilings was a bit more difficult than they had anticipated but all else went as planned. Mike always answered and responded favorably to every request.

Not a lot to tell. Joe arrived at the time and on the date agreed upon. It was a Thursday. He told me he would be back to me "tomorrow" with an estimate. I told him Monday would be fine. I never heard from him again.

The workers arrived on time each day, were very professional in the conduct of their work, and cleaned up each day, even though the house was not occupied at the time. I would definately use them again!

Very good. They started when they said they would. They pressure washed the house before painting. They finished when the said they would. They cleaned up after the job and their were not cost surprises.

Very professional. Use high quality materials. Very careful. Very clean and neat both In and out of house. On time. Good followup to finish sills indoors.

The provider showed up to the house, reviewed the scope to be performed, and provided us with a detailed quote to complete the work. We paid 25% up front, and the remainder once the work was completed. The provider did everything we asked them to do. They did an excellent job, and completed the work in the timeframe they said they would. We were very please with their work, and will ask them to come back, whenever we have more work for them to do.

They had to paint over a dark color and had to paint one wall 3 times. The worker were very nice and very neat. The room was empty so it was was for them to work in. I took then about 4.5 hours to do the job.

We were very pleased with the work performed. The crew was very professional and punctual. It rained a lot during the work, but they still managed to finish relatively quickly despite the weather. Our house has Masonite siding, which crumbles easily and we were concerned how it would fair with the prep work needed, but the crew did a wonderful job patching the siding and even threw in a bottom trim board around the house to help the edges. The paint job is great. I am very happy with the colors and the coats. The carpentry work on our back gable turned out great. I feel like I have a new house. I would use Estes again in the future and recommend them to anyone needing carpentry and paint work.

After seven years paint still looks almost like new.

There was a few things that needed to be fixed and they got it done right. The owner was nice about it and took care of it. We are happy with it and it looks great.

Estes was very professional and communicated their schedule in an efficient manner. I have not had many residential contractors who can schedule and co-ordinate the work as well as Estes. They were more like a commercial/industrial general contractor than a residential contractor. They took pride in their work and cleaned up after completing their operations. I had one change order due to some unseen repair work. Estes was very fair as to cost and handled the extra scope in stride. Estes was very receptive to some alternate coating material whereas other bidders were indifferent or contemptuous as to that detail. The material turned out to be an excellent substitute and both Estes as contractor and myself as owner were pleased with the outcome. I would recommend Estes Painting Company.

It went very well, Mike came to my home and we discussed everything and he was very thoughtful. After the work was finished, I told him that I found that one rail of the outside rails did not have a sufficient coat of paint on it as I thought I could see rust under the paint. Mike said that if I wasn't happy with it , he wasn't happy with it so he sent a guy back to re do ALL of the rails....I think this shows what an up standing guy he is.....I have been very happy with all of the work they did for me and I highly recommend them....Gary Hill

This was my first experience at having a house painted. Mike held my hand throughout the entire process. He even spent a couple of hours helping me and my neighbors decide on the color to paint the house. He ended up contacting a decorator friend who suggested the perfect color. I especially appreciate the fact that Mike understood my situation and worked within my budget. I can't say enough nice things about him. His painters were excellent. They showed up on time, knew what they needed to do and did it. They were friendly and didn't mind me asking questions or just sitting there watching. They also did a very good job cleaning up each day before they left. I spent most of my the time with the carpenter. He was patient with me when I asked questions and was good at what he did. The only thing I would do differently if I had it to do all over again is to schedule a "walk through" with Mike and the carpenter to go over all the details. Overall, I am very pleased with how my house looks. I have the best looking house on the street.

Mike was very quick responding to my call, and arrived to discuss our projects with my wife (since I could not be available). He was very prompt, professional, and honest - my wife felt very comfortable with him, which says alot. He returned to meet with me and was very detailed, I could tell he cared alot about the quality of his work, and did not cut corners. His crew are fantastic - always arrived on time, very professional, and kept the house very clean. We felt very comfortable leaving them alone in the house to complete the work, as we both had to work ourselves. Had NO issues. The finished work is perfect - the kitchen cabinets are brand new! much cheaper than purchasing new cabinets. During our work, I threw in a few other requests - paint window panes, couple doors, etc which Mike did at no extra cost. Overall my wife and I are VERY pleased with Estes painting, and will definitely call them again. He may charge slightly more than other companies, but his quality is top-notch and it shows. He also always kept in great communication with me (even as late as 10pm or early as 6am!) Also the peace of mind of leaving his professional and skilled crew who we trust alone in our home is worth the extra cost. The reviews on Angie's list are accurate, you can't go wrong with Estes Painting.

We are overall very pleased with this company and would use again. As far as responsiveness goes, A+, and that is why we picked them. Mike came when he said he would (he actually called me to tell me he would be a whole 5-10 minutes late when the other companies we were getting estimates from didn't show at all or where hours late with no notice), was accurate with how long it would take and when they could begin, and was in contact via email the couple of weeks before the project began to let me know when they would be starting. We had 3 estimates and theirs was the highest, but they were the most professional and the one we most comfortable with and they were willing to come down to meet the middle quote. It has been 6 months and, again, we are very pleased with the job and would use them again.

We called Mike on a Thursday and he came over and gave us an estimate on Friday. The crew was on time each day and left our home neat and clean.The work they did looks wonderful, the people were very professional and Mike Estes followed up with us to make sure we were satisfied. We highly recommend Estes Painting and will definitely use them again.

We contacted Mike Estes to get a price for pressure washing our house and painting the foundation and porch. Mike did not personally come to give us a quote, but sent one of his associates. The quote was emailed to us the following day. It was a bundled price for pressure washing ($125) and painting ($1,250) and we felt the price for painting was way too high. So, we contacted Mike and told him we were ready to proceed with the pressure washing, but couldn't do the painting for that price. We set up a time for early the next week and agreed on a price for pressure washing only for $200. One of Mike's employees arrived on time and knocked on the door to let me know Mike would be there soon and they'd get started, which they did. Mike came in to talk with me about the painting. When I explained to him we were getting ready to sell our home and just wanted a little cosmetic touch up, he said he thought they could do the job for a lot less than originally quoted. After looking over the house, Mike said they would do the job for $500, including the paint. We agreed and he said they could probably do it early the next week. Due to weather issues, the job was done on the following Wednesday and looks great! We are very pleased with the workmanship and price and Mike was wonderful to work with.

Estes Painting did a fantastic job from start to finish. They were prompt and efficient. They were the first to return our call when we contacted them for the estimate. They scheduled the job on the date that we requested. They began work each day promptly at the time they were scheduled to arrive. They worked a full day, only taking a short break for lunch. Their work was excellent. They even checked the work at each step of the process and corrected any "rough spots" in the wall by fine sanding it to ensure that the finished surface would be smooth after the paint was applied. They cleaned up the mess when they were finished. The cost of the project was actually less than the estimate previously provided to us. Every part of the project is perfectly done and we could not be more pleased with how it looks. All three of the project team were courteous,professional, and pleasant people to have I your home. We are very glad that we selected Estes Painting to do our work and we plan to contact them in the future for additional projects. I am very glad that we hired Estes Painting and we plan to hire them again for an update of our kitchen.

What can I say but we are thrilled with the work that Estes Painting did for us! This review is going to be quite lengthy as Estes did a lot of work on our house. We were in need of quite a bit of work which included everything from painting the exterior of our home, rebuilding a deck and turning it into a screened in porch, replacing a basement door, replacing gutters, replacing rotten siding and wood around the house, and replacing flood lights around the house. We started off by calling Estes for a free quote and Mike Estes came out and reviewed the work we needed performed. He was very informative on how he would do each step of the work and asked questions to make sure he understood all of our needs. He took measurements and worked up a quote for review. I had a few companies quote the project and Estes wasn?t the cheapest quote but after reviewing the many reviews on Angie?s List we felt paying a little more could be worth a lot in the end on a project as large as ours. I can say now after the project is complete that the decision was the right decision. Mike was involved in the project from day one to the end and was a ton of help. Any concerns or questions were resolved by Mike and his crews in a timely manner and that is something well worth the costs. I don?t feel other companies would have made sure that every detail is resolved and addressed as Mike did. We have a brick front on our home and siding on the rest of the house and we have never been thrilled with the brick but at the same time skeptical about painting brick. Mike asked about if we would be interested in painting the brick and we were open to the idea but were unsure on a color. He took care of that for us by having a decorator come by and work with us to help find a color that would work well. After much discussion and talking with Mike we decided to paint the brick as well and the results are amazing. It has changed the entire house and I?m sure increased the value not to mention how much better the house looks now than before. I will attach pictures as well so you can see the before and after and decide for yourself. The project was completed in stages with the deck work and screened porch happening first along with replacing the rotted siding and wood on the chimney after that the basement door was replaced. The work site was kept clean during the entire project which was exactly what I expected. The gutters were the last piece to be replaced before the painting crew came onsite to begin prepping the house for painting. They pressure washed the house, cleaned the exterior windows, replaced any other rotted wood found and then began painting. The guys were good at each area of work that needed to be performed but painting is where they really shine. These guys are good! After the first day I found one small area that was missed, at least I thought, but the next day as they were finishing up the area was painted as if they knew it wasn?t painted already. They were quick but amazingly good on trimming out all of the windows and trim work. They guys finished by pressure washing our fence, sidewalk, driveway and replacing the flood lights. All of the workers were very polite and easy to work with and they showed up each day as expected to do the work until the project was completed. From start to finish I paid a little more than originally estimated but that was because we added painting the brick exterior of the house which increased the costs but it was well worth it. Mike Estes was great to work on our project and we will definitely use him in the future for any other work we need done. We felt that Mike was very honest with us on the project and he worked with us each step of the way and managed the project and his crews to keep the work flowing. We have had tons of compliments on our home and as stated in the beginning of the review we couldn?t be more pleased! Thanks Mike we look forward to working with you in the future.
