A few years back, the garage door opener on our second garage door suddenly stopped working. The opener was installed in the 80's and was a custom install (rod length cut) due an obstruction by a large air duct. Thinking we needed a new opener, I called a few companies. After explaining the situation none were willing to come out and do the job. I was finally able to find one person that agreed to come out. He measured the length of the rail and said he would get back to me; he never did. So the garage pretty much sat unused for the next few years. After purchasing a new car a couple of weeks ago, I was determined to get the opener replaced. I found The Door Doctors via a recommendation on the Nextdoor app. A gentleman came out and I explained to him what happened. I mentioned that I thought the motor was burned out. He suspected that it was just the capacitor (a $10 part!). Sure enough, after replacing the capacitor, the opener worked!! I was extremely impressed by his knowledge but most of all by his honesty. He could've easily told me that the opener needed to be replaced to make more $. Instead he saved us a few hundred dollars! In addition, he said that if the capacitor fails again, he would apply a credit of the current service cost towards the install and replacement of the old opener. It's so refreshing to see that there are still honest businesses out there. Door Doctors has gained a life-long customer and I will recommend them to all my family and friends. A+ Highly Recommended!

I hate leaving negative reviews, but Door Doctors has been one of the worst companies we have ever dealt with. They installed a garage door that is faulty. Many times when you hit the button to open the door, it doesn't go all the way up. Because you can't see this when you are in the car, we have backed in to it several times (damaging our vehicles). We have asked Door Doctors to come fix their faulty door repeatedly. They did come once but couldn't figure out how to repair it and now they won't come back. We have taken pictures to show them the problem. Because they installed a faulty door, they should stand behind their product and replace it. It has been such a disappointing experience. I would stay far away from Door Doctors.

We have used The Door Doctor for several years and will continue to use them. Nice, professional and knowledgeable and over the years they have maintained and repaired our doors. We are very pleased with their work and their prices are competitive .

Door Doctor was prompt in responding to my service request, and repaired my broken automatic door parts quickly, for a reasonable cost, and improved the performance over it's previous squeaky and clanky condition. Also assessed the general condition of both garage doors and openers, and assured me that replacement of doors was not necessary, which was a relief and a huge cost saver. Definitely will call Door Doctors in the future when needed.

My Mom was having problems with her garage door not coming down. Since I live in Atlanta I used Angie's List to help find someone in Birmingham to hep her with the problem I found Door Doctors here and gave her there number. She called them on a Saturday and by the next day the problem was fixed. He was great to my Mom and really was great on the price and service. I highly recomend them to anyone.

Quick, courtesy, kept with the orginal estimate. Pointed out additional areas that needed attention and when asked was given a fair price or was told fromthe looks of things I could perform the work on my own. Passed on some trouble shooting tips for in the near future.

Fantastic. I highly recommend Door Doctors. Called me back quickly, showed up ready to do the work and equipped, got right to it and had both of my doors running beautifully in a short period of time. Efficient and professional. Did I mention I was very impressed with this company. That is the way you run a business.

He was punctual. The receptionist seemed more responsible than the man who came and did the work. There was a problem and the receptionist was apologetic and seemed concerned. He replaced the garage door opener with the one with the same that I already had and if he had asked me I would have told him to use a different type. He did not ask me what type I wanted and if I wanted type of new one and did not give me options. He put the old chain type which is the belt drive. When he installed the new one, he had to screw it into the ceiling and the first or second time that I used the door, the screw broke loose, and I don’t know if he centered it well, so the weak spots were not there. He came and re-did the work, but I wanted to look and see for myself what it looked like. He seemed defensive about that and said that at least he came back and was not charging me for this and it wasn’t anything he did. He took no was responsibility and it wasn’t just random checks. After the first month he installed it and even if it was the Joyce that gave way he was the one that put it in. He was defensive and was almost rude and that he that at least he is not charging me for it and that it was not his fault was outrageous. I told the receptionist about this and she was very apologetic and maybe he was a bad employee. I spent $450 on that service. I also learnt that the garage door opener they charged us for was a whole bunch more than other places for as not very good quality.

The owner of the company came out and did the repair. I was very pleased, he was on time and finished job in minimal amount of time. Had all tools and supplies needed.

The owner himself came to my house and took care of the repair. He was exactly prompt, had all the necessary parts on his truck, and was finished within an hour. One door needed the sensors replaced, the other needed a nylon gear replaced internally. He adjusted the chains and tested the doors for function before he left.

Place a service call. Technician was on-time. Completed in 1 hour.

Excellent. Got a live person on the phone. Made appointment that suited our schedule. Had to change appointment time - not a problem. Worker arrived on time, did work as promised in a prompt and friendly manner. Charged us exactly what was quoted.

Overall everything went great. I called Mon and got appointment for Tue. He was very professional and on time. I strongly recommend this place.

I left a voicemail after hours on the evening of 5/12/2009 stating that my garage door appeared to be crooked when it closed ans asked if someone could come out an take a look at it. A very pleasant woman called me just after 8:00 a.m. on 5/13/2009 and scheduled a technician to come to my house between the hours of noon and 2:00 p.m. She said that she would give me a 20 minute notice of the actual time of his arrival and also that she would try to give me as much notice as possible if the technician would be delayed due to traffic or weather. I received a phone call just after 11:30 a.m. advising that the techinician was on the way. He arrived right at noon. After examing my door, the technician gave me several options ranging from a $75 quick fix all the way up to installing brand new doors. I opted to go with replacing the hardware for $150, which he said would most likely buy me a couple of more years with the ancient garage doors on my house. The new hardware was installed and the door working perfectly within 30 minutes. The technician checked all screws and lubricated both garage doors and left the area clean.

I called the office on Wednesday to schedule a visit for Friday and was told I would be called back the next day with an estimated time. The call back the next day wasn't until after 6 pm, but the lady who called apologized for the lateness of the call and told me to expect someone the following day between 10 and 12. Tom, the owner came and was very punctual. He diagnosed the problem quickly (worn plastic teeth on drive shaft) and had the right replacement piece on the truck. He replaced the drive shaft, adjusted the door, lubricated the moving parts (and told me what to use myself for maintenance) and even took the time to find a replacement part in his truck for our missing light bulb cover, which he gave us and installed for free. I had chosen Door Doctor because other Angie's List reports gave me the impression that they would repair what could be repaired rather than try to sell new openers, and that was the case here. I would definitely use them again.

The estimate and repair process was very smooth. I was given an estimate appointment within 24 hours of my original call. The technician was prompt, knowledgeable and pleasant. The repair was scheduled for the same day the parts to be ordered were to arrive at the company. The repair technicians were also prompt, knowledgeable, and pleasant.

They were very knowledgeable in their work and efficient. They came and got right to work. They were very apologetic for interrupting my day now that is what kind of workers they were. I had told them no need to apologize they weren't in my way at all. The serviceman even asked if they could put their sticker by my garage door opener so if I had any problems with it, I could give them a call. I really liked their professionalism and I thought their price was very reasonable as well.

He did an excellent job, and he was here just a short time. He made sure everything worked, then he left. I would recommend him for his timeliness and cleanliness. He was prompt, friendly, and full of advice. He told me how to avoid my cable from breaking again.
