+ 3 moreOverall Matt and his team are good folks and nice people. The work took a good bit longer than anticipated due to some other jobs happening at the same time. The upper patio is great. The drainage area in the bottom wasn't working for a while, and after several tries we got it working better. There is one part of the yard that still isn't draining well, and he hasn't returned my messages to address this. The play area is great. The other main issue is the sod. There are areas that pieces of the sod are completely dead and others that are growing well. My front yard appears to be Zoysia. I'm not a grass guy and assumed the grass he laid would match. He laid Bermuda there that I have worked hard to get to come in and now it's obvious that it doesn't match and looks absolutely terrible. I would love to give these guys an A but the two big issues with the area of drainage and the sod combined with how difficult communication can be make me drop the grade. I am going to have to call another company to fix the sod and hopefully address the drainage. If this changes, I will update my review to reflect.
Description of Work: We had a large Project done. Two general issues were addressed. First we wanted to turn our upper backyard under the deck into a usable patio. The crew demolished the existing sidewalk and excavated to create an area for the patio. They buried the gutter drains and tied them into the lower yard drainage system. They then built a paver patio with a sitting wall against the house due to the slope of the yard. The sitting/retaining wall created a nice decorative are filled with river rock. They did a great job on the patio. It is level and even and I am very happy with this. The second part was to remove an existing attempt at a French drain in our lower yard and create a functional yard by addressing drainage coming from several places and creating a large play area for the kids. He filled the bottom with gravel and dirt to create a level slopes flat yard with a buried drainage system under it. A small river rock creek bed to shunt water and a stone square play area that I then filled with rubber chips and I built a playhouse to go on it. The final phase was to fix the cosmetics by putting sod there and in the upper and front yards as well as pine straw in the side where he rebuilt the gate and fixed some drainage there.

+ -1 moreThe crew did an excellent job, matching and building a step down to flow smoothly into the existing patio. To top it off, they edged the old and new patio in brick which tied it beautifully together. It has made our back yard much more inviting and fun to use. The crew had to move a few plants for the job but put things back in appropriate places and took care to clean up after themselves when the job was finished. We had a few things to pick up but much less than we have had in the past with other contractors. Matt has a good eye for design and tying it all together. We were very happy with the project, the price and the crew that works for him.
Description of Work: Matt and his crew removed grass which was in poor condition that extended from our back porch and put in a flagstone patio to adjoin the existing.
