They only quoted me an hourly rate so I didn't want to go with them since I did not know how long the job would take. They were professional. They sent out an initial person but she wasn't evaluating the problem specifically, she would have gotten someone to come out.
Description of Work: I had them come out and do an estimate but they didn't do any work for me. I had some leaking windows.

Asked for a quote from the company as well as two other companies. Case Design and Remodeling's quote came in at $4,000.00, which was four times the average of the other two quotes! ($750.00 and $1,100.00 respectively.) I've discussed this with a couple of different handy man/remodling companies and they all agree that the estimate was WAY overpriced. To be fair, the contractor did respond with a quote quickly as promised, and the person who came out to my house to do the estimate was friendly, professional, and right on time for the appointment. As always, make sure you get multiple estimates before selecting a contractor; you don't want to get price gouged.
Description of Work: Asked for a quote to put-up crown molding, baseboards and window/door boarders. Also for building sturdy wood shelves in a 5'x4' pantry.

It wasn’t a big project, just a bunch of little ones. Two men came and I thought they did a good job. I hired them as a handyman service which meant I purchased a certain number of hours. I had a bunch of little jobs lined up to fill the time and they did fine. They were more expensive than other companies but they were prompt and they did as much work as they could in the amount of time.

They did a great job! Job completed the same day I called. My only request was they cut the pole off at the ground so we could fill the spot in. They did exactly that, plus disposed of the pole and the backboard. Great service!

Description of Work: We have a built-in cabinet that can slide out, and which holds the garbage can. The rollers were not rolling properly, and so we used Case Handyman & Remodeling to repair that. He also did a little bit of electrical work on an outlet.

They came and did it. However I was not satisfied with it. They came and tried it again. After 6 months the pavers were all up again. I supposed they used internal cement instead of exterior cement because it was all powered under there. Also it didn?t match the pavers that well. I didn?t bother that much because it was a rental house. They gave me back all my money. The first couple of times when I had a problem with them it took a little bit of time for them to come back. My husband kept telling them that they need to redo the foundation and they kept ignoring him. They came when they said they would and they were very professional. I would not use them in future.

The work was done over a period of two weeks at the end of September 2009. It was very well done and looks great. There has been a lot of rain this year and they had to schedule work on the chimney and roof around the weather. They gave us a two year warranty on the work done. I would recommend that a break down of the work with price for each job be in the contract. We only know the prices of each job from notes we took at the time of the estimate. We did not get several estimates because of time limitations but that is probably always a good idea. We are happy with the work but wish we had not encountered the more serious problem which increased the price.... not sure how their prices compare to other comparable companies but they do excellent work.
Description of Work: Repair damaged eave ($300), replace broken attic stairs ($900), repair of chimney frame with new cap, originally estimated at $1350 but increased once work was started to $3150 when damage was found to be more extensive (including area of roof around chimney due to no flashing present). Total charges were $4350.00

Went well. Case representative was prompt, professional and did excellent work. When needed, he brought in others. Friendly, helpful. Quality work. Kept detailed records, had helpful recommendations. The cost of $85/hr was higher than I have paid in the past for indepentdent handyman work but the work was much more professional, and I believe they will stand by their work. The only thing was that some of the items on my punch list might have been completed at a lower cost per hour, but perhaps not with the same level of quality.
Description of Work: I had a punch list which included sticking doors, kitchen cabinet broken hinges and revarnishing, shelves that needed repair, a baseboard repair, replace floor vent and restain, repair broken outdoor lights, etc.

The remodeling went fine, and more or less according to the original plan. Some problems appeared while remodeling, these were fixed (at additional cost). in this case a small leak in the roof (replaced roof). The end result looks great. They are not cheap, but the results are very good.

The bathroom was the worst living space in the house and the reason we bought the house for about $20K less than comparable residences. 1930s Craftsman house whose bathroom had been remodeled on the cheap, repeatedly, leaving it an interior space with no ambient light (someone had walled up the one window), dark green paint, molding ceiling, tub with finish missing/rusting, and loose tile on the shower walls. Inspection from the crawl space below revealed rotting floorboards, some water damage to the joists, and "hasty" repairs consisting of 3/4" plywood held up by 2x4s. Case came out, took pictures, and gave an estimate. For $100, they then came up with three different plans; bare minimum, minimum with extras, and a complete makeover. The plans consisted of floor plans, color schemes, lighting schemes, possible materials (differently priced depending on which plan), etc. Case began on time, and completely removed everything down to the studs and floor boards in a day. Doing so then revealed the damage that needed to be repaired - to include studs that had been removed from load bearing walls, and studs and plates which had rotted away. In addition, the demolition process added 3" to the bathroom due to the layers and layers of paint, plywood, wallpaper, etc. on the walls. We also gained over an 1 1/2" on the floor. Within 14 days, Case had completed scabbing in repairs, roughed the plumbing (to include a brand new stack and vent), roughed the electrical work (to include a new junction box and circuit panel for the house), installed the skylight, and installed the basics (sink, tub, and toilet). It took approximately another two weeks to put the drywall and tile in - the drywall was a scheduling issue, but the tile required hand crafting, especially since the floor of the old house had settled - this meant that various layers of subfloor needed to be built and hand placed in order to create a new, flat floor that would last. Overall - the project was billed at about two weeks and ended up taking about six. Only four of those weeks was Case actually in the house - the waiting time had to do with scheduling, and the creation of a custom made linen cabinet built specifically for the bathroom. This was a 6 week project - but it was a project done right - and no one should have to worry about the bathroom for another 20 years.
Description of Work: Inspection, design, selection of materials, demolition, plumbing rough-in, electrical rough-in, installation, custom made cabinetry, installation of sky light, finish work (paint and tile) to include custom made molding.

We were extremely satisfied. Case's employee, James, showed up every day on time and worked approximately 12 hours at our house performing a number of tasks over 3 consecutive days. He did a thorough and professional job, and left everything clean at the end of every day. We would highly recommend Case and will use again in the future.

Case gave us their rate over the phone and scheduled the work to be done. We checked several other "handyman" services and found their prices to be quite competitive. The person sent to do the work was timely, courteous, did excellent work, and left things perfectly in order before leaving. Shortly after installation, we discovered the blind company made the blind to open from the wrong side. When the replacement piece arrived, Case returned...without charge...to change things out...everything perfectly as before. Everyone from the person who answers the phone, to the owner, to the installer was a pleasure to work with. And what makes Case even better is the fact that they have a two year warranty on all of their work! We would not hesitate to use them again and we highly recommend them to others.

They responded promptly to our call and sent a representative to view the area. He showed up on time, took measurements and pictures, and then sent us a written estimate by email that included pictures of various window options we could choose from with prices. He came in person to go over the contract and take a deposit of 20% with the rest due upon completion. Then they ordered the window and installed it as soon as it came in. The work took about a day and a half. They removed the old window and installed the new one without damaging our existing tile. They painted and caulked then following day. We were very pleased with how it turned out and with the quality of the service we received.

Bathroom ceiling showed signs of water spotting from some leak. The man from Case found that a boot sealing a vent pipe on the roof needed replacing. He replaced the boot and patched and painted the inside so that you would never know anything had happened. I was extremely pleased with the work performed, and have contracted with them for two more repair jobs scheduled to be completed soon.

Case provides superior, on-time service. Their workers are professional, neat and highly skilled. They will be the only handyman service I use from now on. Thanks for a great job!
Description of Work: I recently purchased a home and my refrigerator would not fit in the opening due to its very large size. Case sent a representative out to my home to measure and quote me a price on the work to be done. On the day the work was to be performed the cabinetry professional showed up on time, in a clean uniform with all of the tools needed to perform the job. He trimmed down a laminate counter top, removed a shelving unit and rebuilt it to size and trimmed the lip of the upper cabinet. The work looks much better than what was there before. He cleaned up after himself when the job was complete.
