CALICO CORNERS

This work was completed for an antique set of furniture which I did not want removed from my home. I instead provided a template and precise measurements for 3 box cushions for the couch and delivered to the store 5 large pillow inserts as well as 'old' box cushions from two chairs. The store's 'workroom' made zippered covers and created new cushion inserts as needed. The workmanship was outstanding and delivery was as promised. However, I did not like the color of zippers on box cushions plus I wanted complete coverage of zipper--design of furniture exposes backs of box cushions so zippers are 'on display'. I contacted the store and they arranged for the upholsterer to come to my home. She collected the cushions needing zipper replacement/alteration. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was with the upholsterer's professionalism and responsiveness. She had the requested work completed to my satisfaction and the cushions back to me precisely as promised--to the hour. The sales woman who assisted me on purchase of fabric and arranged upholstery work was also very helpful and a pleasure with whom to work. The management of the Hoover store was wonderful-- very responsive and cooperative. The $2100 I paid included cost of 12 yards of fabric and reflects a discount on fabric and work via an annual sale. I have worked with independent upholsterers in the past, with mixed results--mostly disappointing. I am truly glad to have 'found' Calico for my upholstery work. They will be my "go to" store from now on--sometimes paying more is worth it!
