These people were great from start to finish. They responded promptly to my request for an estimate. The salesman, Alex, arrived early for the appointment. He spent a great deal of time explaining the product and process to me. He was very clear on exactly what would be done, when it would be done and what the warrenties were. He worked with me on the price and then I gave him the $500 off coupon I downloaded from your site and he promptly deducted it from the price. They started exactly when they said they would. The job was completed promptly. After completion, the salesman called to see if everything was alright. I did have a small issue. He said he would have the project manager come to look at it. Within 15 min. he was here. The next day they came and took care of it. The clean up was remarkable. They even raked the leafs from under the deck and behind the wall. No money exchanged hands until I said I was pleased with the job. Everyone associated with this job was very professional and extremely cordial. I definately will reccommend Blair to anyone and because they do a wide variety of things, they will be the people I call for any of my future needs. In short, these people were great and I'm so glad I found them.

Everything about them was excellent! I was warned about their high prices, but I found their rates to be extremely competitive. I received six quotes before deciding to hire them. The quality of their work is excellent, and the manufacture of the shingles provided a 25 year warranty. Basically, everything about this company was superb from the moment they dropped off the materials to the moment they drove off of my property. They worked quickly; everything was completed in one and half days. Their clean-up was very thorough and really impressed me. I would highly recommend Blair Building and Remodeling to anyone.

The whole process went well from start to finish. I was told that this was a single family business and my sales rep/manager had worked for them for an extended period of time. About 2 weeks after the completion of the work, that representative called me and said that the family had sold the company to someone else and that rather than adjust to the new owners, he had taken that opportunity to pursue a job opportunity with another local company which had been actively pursuing him for nearly two years. He did so because he knew I had another non-roofing project to complete and he wanted to inform me that those services and his supervision would be available with his new company. Those contemplating this company may want to look for reviews in the second half of 2011 and early 2012 for evaluations of the new owners.

Blair was the most responsive and professional of the companies we asked for an estimate. We didn't want to hire and architect and building contractor separately (as some building companies suggested)--Blair did everything for us. Their design exactly fit our idea and they even added small details to make the screen porch really match our house. Our main contact was readily available by phone or email and he stopped by the house frequently. The same workmen came each day, whether they were pouring concrete, painting, or doing detailed building. The guys were personable and cleaned up after themselves each day. There were a few glitches with the electrical and gas lines but they were remedied immediately after Blair was notified. The project took MUCH longer than expected, but since it was a screen porch and they were building during the winter, we weren't in too much of a hurry. At the end of the project, we exchanged emails regarding anything left unfinished, and without any problems, we agreed on the remaining tasks. It was an expensive project, but we are really happy with the outcome and would trust them to do other jobs just as well.

They patched and resealed my chimney.

I have a larger home so it took them two days to complete my roof. The crew started early in the morning and worked until dark. They also did a great job protecting my gutters and shrubs. I can not say enough about their professionalism and attention to details.

They were extremely overdressed. They were professional. They were prompt. They were on time.

The work was completed in accordance with the agreed upon schedule and looked good. The work site was mostly pickeup up but I found a number of nails laying about that I had to pick up. I would use Blair Construction again.

I didn't have a window in my house that would open but now they are all double paned windows.

They stuck to their estimate and did honest work.

Poorly, started late and ran almost double the estimate that was originally discussed, multiple issues with city permits and codes. When the project coordination was transferred to Dan communication improved and things got somewhat better. All in all it was an excruciating and costly experience. I would never consider again and advise friends and family to avoid as well

Our roof was damaged during the tornado but nothing in comparison to our neighbors. However when I called for a estimate, my sales consultant " B0" , was practically at my house the next day. As busy as they were, and the fact he had just had foot surgery and in a cast himself, he was friendly, punctual and professional. He could barely drive down our street because of the debris ( this was 8 days after tornado) and could not believe how hard our street was hit. After a thorough discussion of the repairs needed and the time frame, we choose to wait a few months because so many homes were a lot worse condition than ours. However, as he looked around and took it all in, he handed me a card and said "If there is anything I can do, anyway I can help or anything your family might need, please call me ". Although we made due and I didn't have to call him, much to my surprise he called us just to check in and see how we were. Then a few months later , after changing my mind on the color of shingles, not once but twice, he came out before, during and after to make sure the job was complete and cleaned up to our expectations and his. The crew completed the job in a day and half. I must say I was very impressed with this company and will use them again when we remodel downstairs.

They did a great job. I have used them in the past and they have always done a great job. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

Great, while making the sales pitch Late to get started NO Follow-up Relied on subs to make all contact--never came to house fo follow-up on issues. Two years later and I am still picking up roof nails, I counted 12 on deck roof yesterday (2 years later) Issue with windows--I had to call sub to get corrections

Our dealings with Blair were nothing but excellent from the time we contacted them. They came out the next day to look at the house. They had us an estimate by the next week. Their estimate was the best, and considering how well recommended they are on this and other websites, I was impressed that they still keep their costs reasonable. When we finally got back with them to say that we wanted to use them for the work, they told us that they could be there to start work in about two weeks - they were there in one week. They came back every day until the job was done. They were very professional and attentive. They took care to protect our yard and our carpet and furniture, and they cleaned up after themselves very well, and put everything back where they found it. Chuck and Lynn were excellent, anything I asked them about or pointed out to them as the work progressed, they took care of immediately, and they did not in any way make me feel like I was bothering them with my requests. Bo was also a jewel. He answered my questions promptly and patiently any time I called, and did not try to talk me into any unnecessary expenditures or extra costs. The roofers, drywallers, and painters finished up in a week, and the gutter team came out the following week and put up the new gutters. My home looks like nothing ever happened. I will definitely call them anytime I have remodeling needs in the future, and I would recommend them to anyone. They are honest, reliable, and hardworking and that is very hard to find, so I really appreciate them. I feel very confident in the work that they did, and their courtesy and professionalism made what I had feared would be a painful process, actually turn out to be a painless one.

I had windows replaced by Blair earlier in the year and was well pleased with their work. I good friend had also used them for a roof replacement. I got a price for the work which was less than the other price I received. Workers arrived on expected date and work was completed as expected. Crew cleaned up the yard very well and even replaced some rotted wood on chimney without charging extra. Very pleased with work. Recommended to my neighbor and he used them. They also did a good job on his hime.

I received three price quotes from different companies for replacing wood windows in my home. After researching the reputation of the windows used by the three companies, I decided to use Blair based on price and value of the windows used. Alex was extremely helpful during the process and answered many questions. They arrived on the expected day and work was completed when I was told. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and professionalism of the works. After their work on my windows, I used them again later in 2010 to replace a roof and have recommended them to neighbors and friends.

They were great and went out of their way to protect my mother-in-law's plants, which was a plus. Apples to apples comparison to other estimates, they were by far the best price. For the quality of the job, I think I would choose them over any other contractor.

They had two types of siding, the vinyl or hardy plank and they have different grades of windows. My wife has some very delicate plants up close to the house. The roofing crew was awesome, they have different foreman that run the crews and they were really good. However they were a little bit careless with protecting some of the plants close to the house. They do put tarps down for when they throw roofing off the house, but some of her smaller and more delicate plants got messed up. The foreman said they try their utmost to protect people's plants, but when you're standing up there and you drop a piece of roofing off of the house the wind can catch it and it can go elsewhere or cut the tarp. The bottom line is my wife thought they should have taken a little extra care with the delicate plants by the house. They were very responsive, he came out and looked at it and offered to replace some of them that were damaged, but we didn't have them replaced. He said when you're talking about that many hundreds of pounds of roofing being thrown off the roof it's hard to control where it falls, he said it's just not an exact science. The quality of the roofing they put on the house is 100%, all the neighbors say it looks great. Beau and Sol are the ones you need to get a hold of, get them out there together. They impressed me so much about their knowledge about what was going to take place and what they were going to do even to the point of drawing diagrams to show me how it would all work. They would do extras like roll the siding up under the fascia board. Their price was exactly what they said it would be. I asked them to do one little extra thing and they gave me a price for that and there was no problem. Beau and Sol really know what they are doing, they are so knowledgeable because they are home builders themselves but they are working for Blair. I would get them out there together if you can for the estimate. The two of them work together explaining things and it's really a great feeling talking to them. Sometimes the siding crew was a little late, but they were here for like a month. They know what they're doing because they've been doing it their whole lives. They answered every single question I asked them about everything that was going to happen with the house because they knew what they were doing. What impressed me the most, when they got through and I didn't have any questions they said they were going to move on to another job site. I asked if they had to see how the workers were performing and he said no and that they work right there hand-in-hand and shoulder-to-shoulder with the crew. We just need to get back on the job. So that told me they don't sit back and watch someone else do it and that impressed me.

Blair was very professional. He double checked the work. They came on time. The quote was simple. The work was very well done. I am especially pleased with the windows. He is very conscientious and isn't going to gouge you on the price. One window was installed improperly, but they re-installed it. We will definitely use them in the future.

The wood repairs and replacement and the roof replacement were completed in a day and a half. Gutters were replaced a week later, in one afternoon. Both crews did good work and cleanup was reasonably good.

It took three weeks to get an estimate. During that three weeks representatives from Blair missed several appointments at my house with no calls to say they would be late or could not make the appointment. After having two different people look at the ceiling and the deck Blair's estimate was significantly higher than the other estimates received. Friends have strongly recommended Blair and there are good reports here on Angie's List so I would give them another chance when I have my next project.
