Barefoot Movers

The moving of furniture for the floor refinishing went very well indeed (2010) so I decided to use Bill and his crew for packing an ABF U-Pack trailer for moving from Birmingham, Alabama, to Dallas, Texas. The Dallas move was a disaster. Not only was the price of the crew more than I expected and certainly way over the market for movers in Dallas, at least (trailer was unloaded in Dallas for half the price I paid to have it loaded in Birmingham), I have literally thousands of dollars worth of damage to my furniture and appliances that are the result of improper and careless packing of the 28' trailer. The console on my dryer is cracked and must be replaced. The dryer drum is warped, resulting in a thump I now have to live with or have a $400 replacement of the drum. A large dining room table came off the trailer with the pegs pulled loose and the legs sitting out at a 30 degree angle. There was hardly a stick of furniture that did not suffer a severe scratch or other damage. I can't recommend Bill and his crew for packing a trailer for distance moving. For moving furniture inside a house, I found his work to be satisfactory. He is pricey, though.
