Description of Work: First, Royce was unprofessional. He always called me "Baby". Who does that? Since they were recommended by ABSCO I let it go. I will be calling them and letting them know they shouldn't recommend this guy anymore, unless they want to be considered a joke also. Second, it took a whole week later than he said it would do get the estimate I was trying to get for my insurance company. I'm sorry, but if I'm told how long it'll take to get something, I don't mind waiting that amount of time. But much longer than that is rediculous, in my opinion. Third, my insurance company requested an itemized list of how he received the estimated cost. I finally got in touch with him after 4-5 days to tell him insurance wouldn't give me the money until they understood all of wha tthe money was supposed to be spent on. He couldn't believe the insurance company wanted to know all that and said he couldn't give me an itemized list of how he got the estimated price. I asked why and he said that's just how he did. I repeated myself and said the insurance company wouldn't give me the money to pay him to do the job unless he said how he got that number. He said that's not how he did things and so I said well then I'll find someone else to fix my fireplace and he was surpised and mad because I said that! He then hung up on me.

+ 0 moreHe came twice, we were moving toward installing ventless gas logs and through recommendations from Absco I used his services. I don't know how his prices compares to others.
Description of Work: He came twice, once to clean the chimney and again to repair the firebox so we could install ventless gas logs. He didn't show for the second appt. or call so I rescheduled.

+ -1 moreThey were at my home for no more than 20 minutes to clean the chimney and do a complete inspection. I was left with a written report of the condition of my 60 year old fireplace with everything checked as satisfactory. While stacking wood in the firebox later that day, I noticed a wide and long crack in the bottom of the firebox along with several missing mortar areas in the firebox walls. I don't know much about fireplaces, but I knew this could not be safe. I called another company to come inspect everything without telling them I had already had it inspected. The second company was quick to say the fireplace should not be used until the cracks were repaired as fire could occur. The cracks were very obvious, but were never mentioned by either of the two people from B.J.'s; they just took my check and left.
Description of Work: The job was to include chimney cleaning and inspection of the entire fireplace and chimney.
