ACE Tree Service

They began work a day late; but, did a very professional job. The trees were brought down and hauled to the curb where they were picked up by ACE within 24 hours. The stumps were ground up another day. The left the job sight cleared of all debris and smoothed. All of the workmen were courteous as well. Did the work for the priced estimated

Josh and company did a great job; they did the work cleanly and promptly, and the trees look beautiful. We'll definitely call them again.

Their first job went well and the price was the most competitive. Then I needed a pine tree removed that beetles had killed. This time they were the high bidder. I got three bids and Walter Lee was the low bidder. Walter did a good job for a lot less.

I contacted them yesterday and they promptly called me back about the work. After speaking with them, they told me they have a $450 dollar minimum on every job, and I only needed one small tree removed which is not $450. What really baffled me is they also have some discounts listed online, but he wouldn't even comment on the discounts when I brought them up. Why would you have a coupon for $25 off $200 worth of work if you have a $450 minimum? How can you get $20 off of $200 worth of work when you refuse to do only $200 worth of work? This doesn't make sense.

This work was actually done a couple of years ago (2012) but I just joined Angie's and came across ACE in looking for a landscaper. The experience with Adam aka Ace was so exceptional I felt I had to recommend him. The job he and his crew did was in a very difficult place and could have caused a lot of damage. It didn't. These guys are pros! It was really interesting to watch them work?kind of like acrobats, except they were wielding chainsaws as they did it. The ground under the trees they were removing was covered with ornamentals and I don't think they knocked a leaf off any of them. I wouldn't use anybody but ACE for tree work.

Work was performed in three stages - cutting and removal, stump grinding, and cleanup. A crane was used because the dogwood and gum trees were between a retaining wall and my neighbor's fence. The trees were cut and lifted vertically away from the limited access area to a place where they could be laid down, sectioned, and removed. ACE has the proper tools and definitely knows how to use them. If you have a situation where a tree must me removed vertically to avoid damage, these are the guys to call. .The stump grinding was thorough and the cleanup was very good. I selected ACE because they were the only contractor that suggested a crane rather than a bucket truck and their price was still slightly less than the competitors. Adam Elliott (the owner) is a certified arborist and is very cognizant of his reviews on Angie's List. He did a wonderful job

I got a very good price. I think he was excellent. I got three other estimates and he was the best. I used Angie's List to find him. I will use them again and I will recommend them. They were very professional. They did an excellent job. It took a while for them to get it done because they had some problem with equipment or something. But anyway, as soon as they got everything they notified me, came right out and did the job.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Did a great job in removing debris and cleaning up. Also scored a great deal using their coupon. Would not hesitate in using them again unlike a tree service I used some years ago that broke my driveway and never reapired it. Cannot be too careful in hiring a tree service as you need a reputable company - these guys are great and Josh is a certified arborist.

Josh, was timely in setting the appointment for an estimate and arrived at the agreed upon time. The estimate was given to me in writing at the time of the meeting with no pressure to get started immediately. However, it was my desire to get started asap the the crew was onsite the following morning. They worked methodically in downing the trees into the street, immediately cutting them up into smaller pieces and moving them to the side. They even blew the street clean between each cut. The service provider immediately set up an appointment and came out to the house. He gave us several options for the trees including taking them completely out, trimming them, or treating them. I was impressed with his knowledge and felt that they knew what they were doing. I let them know that we were interested in taking one tree out and trimming up the other two. I did not hear back from them about when they could perform the work. I called about a week later to follow up. The receptionist put me in touch with the person who came out. We discussed the job again. He said he would be in touch about the job. That was in March. It is now June and there has been no follow-up. I am very disappointed in the lack of follow through. I am giving them a C in professionalism and punctuality because at first they were both, but did not carry through.

Everything went very smoothly. The were prompt and efficient.

They did a great job. Their quotes were accurate and they were prompt on arrival.

Josh had come the week before to give a bid, and he was on time for our appointment and professional. He is a certified arborist, which gave me confidence that what he was recommending took the trees' health into mind and that the cuts they eventually made would not introduce disease into the trees. He also gave me copies of the company's insurance and bonding. That is important to me with so many companies not carrying proper coverage, or lying about it having it. The next week Josh and two other employees came back to do the work. They understood which limbs we wanted removed, did the work safely, and cleaned up thoroughly. The company's minimum amount to do work is $450, and they discounted the rate with the Angie's List coupon without complaint.

They were very professional, the price was reasonable, and they responded on time with the estimate and service.

I was able to schedule the job within a couple of days of my call. They called the morning of the job to let me know when they would be arriving. The crew was on time. Adam and his crew did an excellent job. They used a large crane so there was no damage to my yard. The crew was very professional and the job was completed within a couple of hours. I asked them to cut up some of the branches for firewood and Adam even loaded in his truck and helped me stack it in my driveway. The crew cleaned up all the debris and you would have never known they had been there after they left. I would highly recommend them for tree removal, especially if you have a tree that is close to your house. They have the necessary equipment to do the job.

Crew was very professional and did a great job removing dead and broken limbs, as well as pruning branches away from the house. After the work was completed, crew did a great job in cleanup. Would definitely use these guys again!

It went perfect as far as I can tell. They were actually removing a bunch of my neighbors trees and they have me a great deal on taking down a dying tree next to our house.

Ace did good job of cutting my trees. They cleaned up well. They gave us a lot for our money I thought. I was pleased until two guys showed up the following day to finish up the deal. We had agreed that all wood left would be cut into 16 inch lengths and placed in the same area. Unfortunately this did not happen. They did cut a portion of the wood into 16" lengths but not all. I still have to do some cutting myself. This is the only reason they did not get excellent all the way across. In fact, if not for the failure to cut the wood into the agreed upon lengths (which would have saved me a lot of work) I would say they were just about unbelievably good. They are the best I have ever dealt with and I really hate to give them a less than perfect review.

From the time I called Ace Tree Service to the completion of the work, the job was handled promptly and professional. Adam and his crew did a great job from start to finish. The job was scheduled and completed within a week, the crew showed up on time and they got the job done in one day. The cleanup was awesome. They did not leave any limbs or other debris laying around. I will definitely use them in the future.

Adam and his guys were out at the house after a storm. His Contractor friend Johnny with SouthFace Renovations(205.570.1818) used ACE to do the work. They took his crane and equipment and went to work. Got everything done right on time and budget. When he was done, others needed help in the neighborhood and he helped them free of charge. His employees are awesome and aren't your typical snaggle toothed tree guys. They are young studs just doing what they love. He uses top notch equipment and has a great demeanor about him so he's really easy to deal with and a straight shooter. Thanks ACE!!!!

The person who came out to assess the job and give an estimate was very professional and knowledgable, and took his time to answer our questions and explain the proposed work. The work crew arrived on time and worked very quickly and efficiently. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. A great job.

Did great work. On time and on budget. Very professional. Adam is great. Only drawback. I was told the truck that would come out the following morning to pick up the trees would arrive at 9 and it showed up before 7am. It was quite loud and I'm sure some of my neighbors got woke up.

They arrived on the morning of the day scheduled and went right to work. They used a large crane to lift and lay down each tree or large section of tree once it had been cut. They cut these into smaller sections then hauled everything away. I could not have asked for a better, more professional job. I would definitely use ACE Tree Service again.

They did a great job. They showed up around 8:30am and were finished by around 10:30am. They did a good job cleaning up and even though they used the front lawn to cut up some limbs, there was no damage to the lawn. Adam was professional, gave us a good price and did what he said he would do. I couldn't be more pleased.

The project went very, very well. Adam and Eugene helped us design the irrigation and landscaping around a variety of limitations: what we like, our limited budget, what grew well based in each bed (based on shade/sun), etc. They communicated well with us, kept us up-to-date on timeframes and schedule, and did excellent work. As with any project, we did run into a few issues through the process, but they were responsive to our concerns and quick to address them. More than anything, though, I appreciated Adam and his team's flexibility. We were somewhat designing the project as it progressed and naturally evolved (e.g. we didn't know exactly what our options we be in our back and side beds until we removed everything), and they were helpful in educating us on plant and other options as we went, always keeping in mind our budget. I am happy to recommend Adam and ACE.
