Double S Ceramic Tile

Description of Work: Our original time estimate on the job was two weeks. I understand that is just an estimate and with the holidays and illness, we were very patient in a bit of a delay. However, two months later, our shower was finally done, but the extra work that was in our contract (replacing doors) was not completed and we had run out of patience, so we decided to finish it ourselves. There was not one day that Scott showed up on time....a couple of days, he never even showed up and didn't even call to let us know. There was a lot of wasted time waiting on him. He had another job that he started about the same time as our bathroom, and it became painfully evident that the other job took priority. The best thing he has going for him is his worker, Tony Malone, who did all of our tile work. Tony is a hard worker and was very efficient. We got the feeling that Scott was uncomfortable with the other carpentry work, but if that was the case, he never should have quoted us a price and put it in the contract. And lastly, Scott has some serious financial management issues. The check we gave him for our tile (outside the price of the contract) was spent before he ever picked up the tile. We had to go and pick up our own tile and paid the tile company separately. Basically, Scott had 100% of his contract price before he ever started tiling our shower. So we had to trust/hope that he would show up and finish the job. Another reason why his tardiness became so stressful. He did finish the shower --- eventually. And finally got our doors to us. We are finishing the installation of the doors and replacing trim work ourselves. We do now have a nice looking, functional shower that doesn't make it rain in our kitchen. But we would never use Scott Sanders again and can not in good faith recommend him to anyone else.

Description of Work: Double S installed the porcelain tile in our kitchen, laundry room, and three bath rooms (including a shower). We chose Double S over some less expensive installers because our builder recommended him due to his previous good experiences with him for how well he builds showers ( to not leak). The end product was excellent.

Description of Work: I called Scott Sanders 16 times before I got him to the house. He came in and measured the shower stall. I explained what I wanted done in very good detail. He explained the tile was VERY OLD. He said he would have a lot of trouble matching the tile. He said he wanted to do the whole bathroom over. I gave him a soap dish in excellant condition from the shower stall. I explained to him that I want it installed when he does the work. He left with the soap dish. For six weeks I called him every other day. He said I am very busy. I don't know when I will get time to do it. I asked him to bring the soap dish back to me. Oh I have lost it was his reply. He then said I guess we will have to do the whole bathroom over. Also that it will be about $9,500.00 to do it. I told him NO THANKS and I explained I want my soap dish back. He said he would go LOOK for it. Two minutes later he came back to the phone and said I can't find it. It must be in the truck. He also said I don't remember where you live. I said Go look in the truck. I will wait for you to come back. 45 minutes later he never came back to the phone. I could hear a guy and a woman laughing about the guy on the phone. I hung up and called back but they never did answer the phone. My phone number is not blocked so they could see who was calling. In my opinion I would NOT let this guy on my property again. He will never do work for me. He also lost the job of doing my other bathroom over. Something that he did not know while he was trying to stick it to me.
