I was pleased with their attention to detail and the accuracy in which they recreated original moldings. Over the last 10 years SRD has competed 5 major projects including Slate Roof repair, repairing Plaster ceilings, Wall and door upgrades, Concrete repairs, with emphasis on restoring historic houses to original condition. The project costs ranged from a few dollars to $25,000 for a total of $100,000. His crews stayed to complete each project and i was pleased both with the quality of the work and the cost.

The job was slated to take four to five months. It is now October 2014 and the job is not completed, and he has now been terminated. There is not a single element of the renovation that has gone according to plan and no project that was done correctly the first time without subsequent need to re-do. For example, he ordered the wrong color cabinets for our kitchen. Yet another example, he improperly vented our furnace, and we only found out due to other venting issues described below. Finally, every light fixture was broken by his crew and had to be replaced. Speaking of the crew, we learned that each and every member is from a local group home for persons out on parole. This would not have been an issue had we not had more than $10,000 in jewelry stolen! More dangerous issues include splicing aluminum wiring to copper, which is a fire hazard. He lied about this reality when confronted. Ultimately he brought in another ?crew member? to punch holes in all of the nice new sheet rock to rewire our home. He also vented our cooktop to the ducts leaving the furnace, which results in carbon monoxide release from the stove in the kitchen when the furnace is on! Finally, he had total disregard for the fact that a family was living in the house during the renovation. There was negligible effort to clean up sheet rock dust, no inspection for asbestos, and his "crew" would leave our doors open all day long and even brought their friends over to have lunch at my table! If there is one redeeming quality it is that he was always willing to try again! This company is a joke. Please spare yourself the headache of broken promises, the hassle of having to stay on top of your contractor about everything, and the heartache of loosing heirlooms!
