I recently used Alatech for the second time and I am very pleased. Mr. Brooks is incredibly easy to work with and he provides a very thorough, easy to read report. Outstanding inspection, advice, recommendations, and report. I called Mr. Brooks on Tuesday inquiring about an inspection on a potential home I was purchasing. He said he could make the close to 2 hr drive the next day. He came and performed the inspection and advised me of the issues and potential future issues. I did not purchase the home....over 250k. Larry & his son actually inspected 2 homes for my husband & I. The first home (built in 1968) was a mess (but not to the untrained eye). Thank goodness they found the major structural & wiring issues in the first home (I'm sure they saved us a ton of headaches). At both locations they were more thorough than any property inspectors I have ever encountered, they were professional, on time & walked us through what they were doing & seeing while it was happening. Before getting a home inspection, I went on Angie's list to review local home inspectors. I decided to go with Alatech and am glad I did! Mr. Larry was professional, punctual, and willing to help even after the inspection was done while I was negotiating repairs with the builder. Alatech met at the designated time and took roughly 2-3 hours to complete the inspection on a 3000 square foot home. They thoroughly inspected the roof, attic, plumbing, electrical and some of the structural aspects of the home that were visible. Also after the inspection they continued to advocate for me when I was dealing with the builder on getting some of the issues fixed. It truly provided me the upper hand when dealing with builder. They have a reputation for being thorough and this was no exception. The builder said they were the most thorough home inspection he has had so far. I highly recommend them for your home inspection needs.

Larry did a great job of finding the bigger problems with a home that I had a contract on and eventually bought. With the items that he discovered, I was about to negotiate for the seller to pay closing costs which helped fund some of the repairs that were needed. I now live in the house and have discovered some problems that Larry did not catch, but most of these were pretty minor, and I would not expect a home inspector to catch everything. Plus, I've had the advantage of living in the house. He only had a couple of hours to discover issues, and he saved me some money with what he pointed out to me.

I contacted Mr. Brooks for a home inspection on a new home. Immediately upon meeting him I had the feeling he was honest and trustworthy which is unusual for me since I do not trust anyone. He was courteous, professional and very thorough. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. He found problems I would have never known existed. It went very well. I called and they found a way to meet me in 2 days since I was driving in from another state. He had his son with him and they were very thorough and did not mind us following them around asking questions. The report was delivered to us in a timely manner and was very detailed and included recommendations on the issues found. Mr. Brooks was very thorough and detailed with his inspection. Even though the issues identified were not issues of immediate danger, they were some that could potentially become of danger in the future, if they are not taken care of quickly. I had a great inspection. Mr. Brooks and his son were very nice, Christian people. They both pointed out things that were wrong, but also explained how it could be fixed. They offered their honest and professional opinion. With me being a single mom and doing this all on my own it was great to have someones opinion and suggestions. since the inspection, I have called Mr. Brooks once and I have a feeling that once I get the house and get ready to fix it up, I will be calling him more. He is very open to helping and welcomes my calls. Overall, I definitely recommend Alatech Home Inspections.

Inspectors came early without notice. They indicated they could not inspect the plumbing because I didn't tell them to bring a water key (my friend was able to show up with one she easily purchased at a hardware store). They missed some serious issues that I was able to identify without any special training (a tree growing into the roof, one inch from the shingles but not mentioned in the report; a "light switch to nowhere," that sort of thing). They told my friend about the leak under the kitchen sink but there was no reference to it in the inspection report. In reading the inspection report, you will realize they have indemnified themselves of finding ANYTHING because they only spot-check stuff (ie. they don't test every outlet to see if it's working, they just take a "representative sample"). I don't feel they did a good or thorough job and my handyman continues to find stuff they overlooked each day.

Mr. Brooks was VERY personable, yet professional. His inspection was VERY thorough. You could tell it was a technical based inspection, relying on current building codes and requirements. While providing us with a verbal review of his findings, Mr. Brooks used everyday, layman's terms. I was pleased with all aspects of the inspection; from the initial telephone conversation, to explaining his rates, promptness of scheduling the inspection and being there at the scheduled date & time to explaining the results verbally and ease of accessing the report on line, Larry Brooks was OUTSTANDING. We used him for two home inspections and I would readily hire him for another. I whole-heartedly recommend this person to any and all who are in need of such services

Well, Mr. Brooks was prompt, professional, and he communicated well regarding issues he found with the house. He was reassuring that he would communicate right away any egregious finds.

Mr. Brooks provided me with a 45 page report that was easy to understand and had pictures of the issues he noted. The report was more detailed that I ever imagined it would be, and I feel confident that I could buy this house and not have any unexpected surprises come up. The house is approximately 3900 sq. feet and the inspection included an additional fee to also inspect the outdoor pool house. One of things I really appreciated was that Mr. Brooks answered his phone every time I called him, and I didn't have to endlessly wait for answers to my questions.
