Went well.

Mr Brooks was very professional and very thorough. He spotted various problems spots around the house and gave me pointers on how to have them corrected and how much it might cost. I have heard about other inspectors that only check portions of the house or just do a walk around. Mr Brooks on the other hand, he went up on the roof, in the attic, down in the crawl space, and of course the living areas and did a very detailed assessment. I tagged along for most of the inspection and he was very informative. We were at the property for several hours. My advice to anyone buying a home, get a very good home inspector that is independent. Home inspectors that real estate agents refer to might have some conflict of interest so in my opinion just get an independent one.

This is our second time using Alatech Home Inspection. Mr. Brooks spent several hours on my home inspection and allowed me to follow him around and ask questions. His report is delivered promptly and it is very detailed; we don't think he misses anything! His report includes pictures and detailed descriptions of the problem areas (or areas to be watched). He was very prompt. Great overall experience. I would recommend Alatech as I have used this company twice and would use them again if needed.

Larry was able to fit us in his busy schedule with our inspection deadline. He showed up on time and did a very thorough job in his inspection. The inspection report is easily accessible and was available to download the next day. We are aware of past, present and future home repairs. I feel prepared as a home buyer now knowing the in's and out's of the home I want to purchase and confidant about the choices I made after reviewing his inspection.

It went very well- I filled out his form on-line. He e-mailed me back- We got everything settled with one phone call. Once he was done I was able to print/ download the report to send to the seller. Now we are looking for a different place thanks to the cost that would have added up and put us out of our budget.

He was excellent. He gave us a printed report with very helpful, colored photographs describing the work we needed to have done on the house.

Larry Brooks did an excellent job of inspecting our new home when it was completed at the beginning of February. He said that he was a licensed home inspector and on the board of the Birmingham Inspection Chapter and has been doing home inspections for 27 years. We really liked how he performed his inspection with his high tech camera, equipment, and audio recordings which made it go nice, smoothly, and quickly. Larry was quite thorough and professional even providing advice on safety aspects for the new house. He was flexible with the inspection as we asked him to look at some of the healthy home products that we installed into our house even though he didn't specialize in healthy home inspections. He found some fiberglass that was not removed from the inside of our HVAC unit that needed to be removed. We liked that he checked every outlet to make sure it was functioning properly. His home inspection report was very impressive, organized, and detailed which included descriptions of individual sections of the house, observations with general comments and recommendations, and limitations. The only things that went wrong were the oven cleaners and manuals were left inside the oven during the oven inspection, one safety issue was neglected which the county inspector found, and one of our names was left off of the bottom of the report. Overall, we really liked working with Alatech Home Inspection Service and his report was easy for the home builder to follow and we very much appreciated the Angie's List coupon. Larry performed the inspection in a timely fashion and generated the report quickly. Alatech Home Inspection Service was a great company to do business with.

Larry was very genuine and professional. He showed up early and started promptly on the exterior inspection promptly as we waited for my realtor to arrive to open the house. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Larry for anyone purchasing a home with stucco and/or any other moisture related issues. During his EIFS inspection, Larry found issues that were entirely missed and/or skipped over by a previous inspector hired by the home owner. Larry provided his detailed inspection report in less than 24 hours, which I was able to download from his website. The report included pictures and specific repair recommendations. Larry was cordial and had no problems answering any questions I had as we made our way through the home.

I called to set up inspection. Mr. Brooks set up an appt in 2 business days. He was very thorough taking about 3 hours for thorough inspection including moisture readings. I received an extremely detailed report in 2 days. He helped me to find excellent contractors to do the repairs and will reinspect when their work is done.

Everything went great! Very fair price! Always answers phone! Detailed reports with pictures. Definitely recommend!

Larry showed up right on time after I changed the time due to a work meeting that suddenly came up, he was very flexible. He tested every outlet, light, and outside fixture. Tested for rot, checked the siding, the crawlspace, everything. He pointed out issues that should be fixed to avoid rot in the future even. He told what materials the original builders had used to be cheap and where they could be upgraded and even gave round guesstimates about simple repairs. Very happy with the experience. He is a little abrupt in his mannerisms but seems like a good guy, just blunt.

He arrived on time and started working immediately. He checked outside the house and when finished he came inside. Making notes all of the time he was inspecting.When he finished he gave a very complete list of items to be improved. He was paid and then he told me he would email me the complete findings first thing the next morning and he was verp prompt about doing that.

Mr. Brooks was better than punctual, he was early! He began the stucco inspection on my prospective home immediately and spent approximately 2.5 hours doing the readings. He didn't mind me sitting around watching and asking questions. After the stucco inspection, he started the home inspection. He was very thorough and checked out the attic, crawlspace, etc. He didn't mind me following him around and writing down my own notes, and often when he found a problem he would discuss the severity and possible mitigation for it. I found him to be very professional and the price he charged me was actually a little less than what he quoted me over the phone. Mr. Brooks followed up with a prompt and detailed report in pdf form that I could download from his website. The report was several pages long (45 pages), and it included photos of problem areas and descriptions of why the problem areas are important and what steps should be taken to repair or maintain, etc.

This was a great experience. Mr. Larry Brooks and AlaTech Home Inspection Service was the only inspector I could find to service my area. He had to drive around 3 hours to my location but he was happy to do so. It only cost $350 for a full inspection and it was well worth it. He inspected the outside, inside, crawl space, attic, and all electrical, plumbing, and heating/air. It took him around 2 hours for the inspection and he sat down with me for around 30 minutes and told me everything he found, how to fix it, and what the cost may be. In less than 24 hours, I had access to his report with pictures and everything he found wrong with the house. He was very thorough and very knowledgeable. It was a great experience and I will definitely use him again in the future.
