Description of Work: John came to give me an estimate. He put me off for weeks. Meanwhile rain was making things worse. In the end months later I hired someone else. I can only say his word is not reliable.

Description of Work: Concrete drainage and metal cover for exterior wooden hatch. High quality work. This was a small job and they fit in around other project. It took longer than anticipated.

 + 5 moreThe work took about six weeks to complete. Though John is not quick his work is exceptional in quality. He plays attention to details and will work with you to make sure the end result is exactly what you want. He contracts with experienced craftsmen and they were all very pleasant to the family. The only two points I would mention is the tile person is just that; a tile person. Do not expect an artisan. If you want the tiles laid in an order other than the order that they are stacked in the box you should lay them out before the tile person starts and explain up front that you expect a specific pattern. This is probably common practice and just ignorance on our part. However, John had the tile person redo some of the work at no extra charge. Also, the plummer reworked some of our pluming to accommodate changes with new faucets and re-positioning the sinks. He took the copper and replaced it with Pex Pipe which is fine. However, he did not give us the option of keeping the copper. We would have liked to have kept it as we are borderline hoarders. Overall we are very pleased with John's work and we have started phase two of our home improvement with him - Hardwoods and kitchen remodel. He is estimating phase three - front porch. I highly recommend John Mayhall/Building Bama.

Custom surround and floor in Travertine and tumbled marble. Floor tiled in Traverine and stone floor molding Reworked lighting - added ventilation, light in shower and moved wall light Installed new custom built vanity with marble tops and new faucet. Crown molding and painted walls New toilet *Guest bath: New Marble counter tops with two new sinks and faucets Removed tub and surround insert. Replaces with 5ft cast iron tub and custom surround in Travertine and tumbled marble. Floor tiled in Traverine and stone floor molding Reworked lighting - added ventilation, moved 2 wall lights Crown molding and painted walls New toilet *Laundry New ceramic tile and molding Removed debris and cleaned up
