I am going to write this as I recall it and try not to spend too much time editing. So if I ramble...sorry. 1st visit was on November 1st, 2013. Store manager forgot to order the blower and somehow they brought the wrong size surround (cover on the front of the fireplace to fill void between the insert and the existing fireplace brick.) They installed a stainless steel pipe down the middle of the clay pipe in the chimney and attached it to the insert and capped the steel pipe on the top end with a custom fit and manufactured top with wire around the sides to keep critters out. Needless to say I was disappointed and suspicious as I have been abused by other home improvement people before but I received a call about 10 days later saying the other parts had arrived and they wanted to come finish the job. I had to pay half up front to order the insert from Washinton St. I didnt pay the rest until they finished. I felt good about finding a stove locally that would fit the old coal burning fireplace(coal burners are usually smaller). It was also a relief to find someone that had enstalled them before and knew what they were doing. I have'nt tried the stove yet as I have to find a time when I can open the windows so that the fumes that occur with the first burn can air out. Oil and paint fumes according to the instructions. This is standard procedure. It looks great and had it not been for the glitches mentioned I would have given all A's.
Description of Work: Delivered and Installed a wood burning fireplace insert with a blower, steel exhaust pipe up the chimney, capped the pipe and space around it at the top of the chimney and put a surround to cover the void between the stove and existing masonry fireplace.
