AFS did exactly what was needed for my structural repair needs. Their representatives and workers were very professional and courteous through the whole deal. Their work is guaranteed for life and transfers in the event of selling this home. I highly recommend AFS for your structural repair needs.

I chose not to use them because of price. The other contractor that I used, I had a personal friend make the recommendation, that I gave greater weight to, and that is why I chose the other one.

Got quotes for 3 options. AFS gives a price guarantee for work performed. I elected to wait to get the work done. I was very impressed with the inspector.

I did work with them, but as I remember I had three companies I was working with, I did not select that company. Their representative was very knowledgeable, and they would have been my second choice, but I went with a company here that is a local company. The other company had what I call a satellite company here. They were very professional, and I just thought I would get better service from the other company but there was nothing wrong, or have any complaints about the representative or the estimate, or anything he gave me. I just decided to go with another company. I liked that he approached me with a positive attitude. I thought that price was good for what they were going to do. They were very responsive, they returned all my calls and checked back with me several times. They were very punctual, they called me back when they said they would, and came when they said they would. The only one I dealt with was the salesman and he was very professional.

The salesman was punctual and polite. Aside from one comment (discussed below), he was not personally objectionable in any way. He went over his proposals during his sales pitch, while showing us videos of the company's products and describing the urgency and necessity of each product. Then he said if we sign a contract and make a down payment "right now" he can give us 10% off, but the discount will no longer be available once he leaves. He said the contract was fully cancellable, so I signed it to retain the discount, but I did not provide a down payment as he said we could work it out later. I also informed the salesman that I intended to get additional quotes. He said that AFS does price match.-- My one issue with the salesman personally (mentioned above): At one point near the end, he mentioned that AFS had a sales meeting that evening (it was the last day of the month) and he had been going back and forth in competition with another salesman for highest sales totals during the month. He said that our contract would put him easily over the top, and he was excited about going to the meeting now. Why would you ever say this to a customer who you just told needs $26,000 in repairs? -- We asked several other companies to assess our problems and provide solutions and quotes. After we received their assessments, I was convinced that we really do need work performed. However, AFS was dramatically more expensive than any other company we considered, and AFS noted "urgent items" that MULTIPLE other specialists said were of no concern or needed little attention/correction. (Two separate companies literally laughed at the suggestion that we need two sump pumps, as suggested by AFS.) -- We ended up with two quotes for solutions (one for waterproofing and one for foundation work) with two separate companies that will work together to perform all necessary work. The combined contract price the required work is about $14,500 LESS than the AFS quote. Even if we decide to fully encapsulate the basement (which AFS said was necessary, but others said was optional), the all-in price was $11,000 less than the AFS quote.-- I informed the AFS salesman that I had decided to go a different direction and I let him know how much I was quoted for the solutions I chose. He asked if he could try to price match. I told him that I believe the waterproofing solution I found was superior to the one provided by AFS, but he was welcome to try to work something out for the foundation work. He then asked (again) to see the quotes I received for both solutions and said that he could save me money. At that point I cut off the discussion entirely.-- If he believes that AFS can save me money, he's stating without any uncertainty that the initial quote had an enormous profit margin built-in. It tells me that AFS was preying on people who don't think to get additional quotes. Why else would they ask for a signature before leaving and dangle a 10% discount "only if you sign now?" NONE of the other companies tried those tactics. Each provided a solution and a quote, and told me to think about it and call with any questions. -- I will not call AFS for another quote for this or any other home I own. I will advise anyone I know to seek other options, preferably before speaking to AFS (if they must).

Taylor came out to inspect the problem and explained to us about soil expansion and contraction due to drought and times of heavy rain, and how this effects the foundation of a home. He said the foundation could be stablized by installing piers that reach to the bedrock so there would be no more effects from movement of soil and no more settling of the home. Chuck, Jake and Joe came out to install the piers. They were on time, very courteous and explained what they would be doing. We came out to check on how things were going and again they were very courteous and informative. We felt confident they new what they were doing. To be honest, we were very nervous from the beginning because of the cost; and nowadays you can't be sure if people will do what they say they will. Well, when it was finally over we were very pleased with the outcome. Many of the cracks closed up, our back door is closing and our refrigerator door stays open by itself! These are things that were not guaranteed to happen but they did! We also have the peace of mind knowing it is backed by a lifetime warranty. We feel like we got our money's worth because our home is now stable and we can move forward with some remodeling projects we are needing to do. Thanks AFS for the great job!

I got an email that I haven't paid their bill. I got it on Thursday and put the check in the mail Friday. AFS needs to put their sales people in check. I understand bonuses but check into the work order before you demand payment.

It went well. The team showed up early and was finished before lunch. They did a good job of picking up after the work also.

I've used these guys before and each time it takes waaaaaaay too long just to get an estimate. I know they are very busy but there's really no good reason it should take 4 to 6 weeks just to get an estimator to visit. Other than that I have no complaints. It's really the work that matters most and the crew was on time and professional and friendly.

From the initial inspection by the company representative, John Davis, to completion of the work by crew chief Juan Castillo and workers Arturo Saenz and Luciano Valdez, everything proceeded as scheduled and the result was excellent. No surprises. Multiple helical piers were placed to support the foundation. The crew also took care to restore the appearance of the grounds around our house after the piers were placed. I highly recommend AFS for the evaluation of foundation problems.

Crew members were: Steven Erwin, Fredy, and Jonathan Work was performed in a professional manner and in accordance with contract. Crew called each morning when they were on their way and arrived at the scheduled time. Kept us informed of what was being done and were very thorough in the installation.

It went great, as much as these things can go. And I apologize for being so tardy with this review, as their work was done in spring of 2015. They did everything they said they were going to do, and they fixed the inevitable "surprises" that popped up. They only issue we had was that after the new flooring was laid, we discovered that there was still a slope in the floor. So they came back out, adjusted the jack, and repaired the part of the floor that cracked due to that adjustment. I really couldn't ask for more. I thought the price was fair, given the amount of work they had to do.

I got them from Angie's List. They were terrible. The cost was too much. The quote was for $6000. They come and do a bad job on time. They misrepresented themselves and their abilities.

The house is so solid, you could drive a tank into it. They are very good at what they do, I am very satisfied.

They could be more knowledgeable. They didn't really leave the area neat and tidy after they did their work.

They put in french drains in pieces that were not connected and were far away from the inside walls. They made no provision for the water to leave the basement. The man who gave the estimate seemed very sharp and knowledgeable. The people who did the work had no clue. They put in a dehumidifier that had no outlet and it just dripped onto the floor. They did not at all do landscaping and only partial work on the walls where the water was entering. While they did put a thick plastic cover over the earth floor, as they should have, it did not fix the basic problem. When I complained, they came back and put in a concrete block wall to keep the basement water from leaking into a storage room, and then had the gall to try and charge an additional fee for the ineffective repair. The water and moisture just accumulated. I called again one more time and the person on the phone assured me it had been done correctly. I gave up. I just paid a private contractor more than this amount to fix everything they did and to do it right. Without question they are the most inept home contractor I have ever dealt with, and this is the 5th home I have owned. I went to them because friends said they were good. Wrong! The reason I have submitted this review now is I just got a voice mail from AFS offering a service contract or regular service visit. If they had not called me, I would not have written this review some 5 years (or maybe it was 4 or 6) after the work, but somehow that got to me. I do not like writing negative reviews and wish I had something more positive to say.

They are very busy so had to wait about six weeks before work could start. This wait was not a problem for me. There were two crews used over two days. Crew one place the nine tie back piers in 1 1/2 days. Very professional job. Crew two spent four hours getting my steps level as possible. The work on the steps was a challenge as they were extremely slanted. My alternative to the leveling would have been to remove the concrete walk and steps and have it all re-poured. The leveling of the walkway was not perfect (and was not promised to be perfect) was all in all a great improvement. The crew worked hard to get it right as possible.

Not impressed. Representative came over in feb or march 2015 to assess mold/ water marks on wall of basement. I was told that the house was likely "sitting in a pool of water" which necessitated jack-hammering up my basement floor and installing a drain and sump pump. Now maybe the pool of water thing is true. What makes me question that, is, that it was the ONLY scenario in his advertising materials to account for basement moisture in any form. This makes me think that that is what everybody is told is the cause of their basement moisture issues. I was also told that they had a minimum job price. I don't remember if it was 4K or 6K, but we didn't meet the minimum and so they jacked up the cost of the materials so that the minimum would be met. I was then given the 'hard sell.' If I booked them right then and there i would get a discount. If I let him walk out the door, bye bye discount. He also made the assumption that i had no idea what a level was and proceeded to explain it to me. He then suggested that i ask my husband to monitor our basement wall with said level. This may seem like an insignificant detail to some people, but when combined with the 'hard sell' tactics he then employed, I got the distinct impression that he thought he could bully me into buying his product because I was a woman.

Let me send you a copy of the letter I sent to AFS after the job was completed. It has details, photos, etc. that may be helpful if you want to review them! It's been over 2 years ago!

Very professional great advice that to his benefit even after seeing the job did not fall into what they do he provided excellent advise
