These guys were booked solid but still got Kevin out in a couple of hours to look at my dying water heater. He got it running again and clearly laid out my options for repair. I ended up ordering a replacement water heater from them, and they installed it today. Installation was completed quickly and professionally. The office staff/dispatch was awesome as well. They provided me with detailed and timely updates throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! If I could give zero stars I would. We hired them for pre-sale cleaning and inspection of our systems, knowing we are out of state, and they told us we needed either thousands of dollar in a warranty repair that could take 2-3 weeks or a whole new heating system that they could install right away. Turned off our heat, in Alaska, during the winter and left the house before he called to inform us of what he found. We had to ask him to go back and turn on the water to keep our pipes from freezing, he didn't offer to leave electric heaters or anything. We hired a second company to come out that night (in less than an hour, thank you Mat-Su Mechanical, who I highly recommend) to reinspect the system and he found nothing wrong and had the evidence to back it up. We tried to contact the owners of Kink Heating to speak about this issue and they will not call us back and its been almost a month. After this happened to us we found out they have done this before during pre-sale inspections; scaring the sellers into installing a new heating system so they can sell their house in a timely manner. They are SCAM ARTISTS!!

Mrs. [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry for your frustration, but our technicians are highly trained and look for issues thoroughly. We are also truthful and you were offered electric heaters. You actually called our tech a lair and my office manager a lair the same conversation the day the unit was inspect by our company during a phone call. Did the other company show you a detailed report of the heat exchanger with a combustion analyzer print out? Did the company even test the equipment? I also show no report of any other phone calls into our office to discuss this matter. I have detailed reports of the condition of the equipment, print outs of the results and talked to both technicians. The one on the project and a 2nd he called to confirm his readings. There are companies that do not invest this kind of training or equipment as we do to protect our customers. Don't misunderstand me, when I'm wrong I will always confess it and make it right by our customers, but I will not allow myself or my people to be bullied on social media. I'd rather take the hit than be dishonest to myself or my customer base which has come to know us for our integrity. When you don't get the results you wanted from a doctor, they don't just refund you due to a second opinion. If they did due diligence, usually they know that their records will be subpoenaed when the 2nd opinion fails. It appears that you got the results you wanted from another company, but if there ever arises an issue with that heat exchanger please know we do have it on record.

The installation was fairly complex, in that there was considerable work above the existing natural gas fired furnace that had to be done to accommodate the component of the air conditioner inside the house, including creation of new sheet metal duct work, and running two adjacent copper coolant lines down into the crawl space below and out on the north side of the house where the large condenser/compressor sits. Once the installation was complete, a different service technician came out to test the system for leaks, and get everything up and running. There were a few small problems along the way, and the install and testing took four separate trips on different days, but in the end, the system looks good and works well. I might add that there was a necessary additional cost, that was explained to me at the onset, of having an electrician of my choice come and install a 240 volt service and cut-off switch for the outdoor component of the air conditioner; this added $465. With Knik Heating's bill of $4234, our cost of the entire project was $4699. Considering the complexity of the equipment and effort to install it, I believe the price to be reasonable.

The association started out great with this company I had them come out for a reversal of the hot and cold water in my master bath and kitchen. This was covered under my home warranty and the plumber was courteous and punctual, he was not able to resolve the issue with the master bath and had to send another plumber out at a later date. This is the start of the downward spiral. The next plumber was an hour late, I can understand some jobs run over. He didn't want to do the entire job which included changing the faucet in the shower, and while fixing the hot and cold reversal situation a pipe broke when he turned the water back on. Mind you the water valve is in the basement and the pipe was on the second floor. By the time he got back to the master closet the carpet was soaked in the closet. I can understand something like this happening but once he repaired it instead of asking me to watch for another leak when he turned the water on he repeated the process and you guessed it there was another leak. Fortunately I was leaving just after this repair for two weeks so I was able to run a fan on my carpet for two weeks straight to dry it out. Even after all of this I still had Pat the owner come out to bid running a gas line to our kitchen and to our shop building. Pat is a very personable guy and gives a good sales pitch. I hired him to install the lines and a heater in our shop building, the bid was $2600. The reason that I have given this review a C is because of the installers that worked on the gas lines, they were professional and hard working. The job ended up being larger than they anticipated and had to come back a second day but they were there when the office said they would be there and again very professional and aware that they were in someones home. These installers I give an A+. Back to the master bath issue the first installer never completed the job of installing the new mixing valve and installing the new faucet. The office sent out a "New" person, I know this because he told me this was his second week. He came out 6 hours late, he did call and say he would be late. He assessed the situation cut holes in the ceiling of one of my downstairs bedrooms and left the sheetrock and insulation on the tarp that I provided to cover the furniture in the bedroom and said he would have to come back. He did come back was there by 10am and proceeded to cut more holes in the ceiling and do what else I am not sure other than make comments and have opinions that are too rude to repeat here in this review, to say he was unprofessional would not be a strong enough description. By 5pm he called in reinforcements to help him do the job. The installer that had put the gas lines in came to bail him out and actually completed the job that he had been there all day to do in about an hour. The original installer left leaving the sheetrock and insulation mess in the bedroom. A few days later when the installer for the gas lines came back to make some final adjustments, Pat came by to assess the work progress. I showed him the mess left in the bedroom downstairs and the random holes that were made in the ceiling and expressed my displeasure with the installer that had left the mess. Pat didn't appear to be too concerned with the situation. Next job I did mention that I have a home warranty and the furnace which is covered under the home warranty needed to have a drain valve installed so it wasn't draining into my crawl space. The home warranty sent out Knik Heating. The gas line installer came out to repair the furnace and again superior guys very happy with them. The issue with the furnace is that the work was done the end of December and as far as I knew the home warranty had covered the cost. Late January I receive a voicemail about 1:30pm from Knik Heating that I have an outstanding invoice for the heater work. I no more than listen to that voicemail (about 10 min after it was left) and I receive a phone call from my husband saying that he had received a phone call from Knik Heating that we had an outstanding invoice with them and he is wanting to know what is going on. This in itself is annoying that a voicemail is left with me the person that they had dealt with on all of this work and I am not even allowed time to respond before they are calling my husband. All of that I did return the call the next day and was told by the administrative person in the office that I owed $875 on the furnace repair. Of course my response was that I had not received an invoice and that I was under the impression that the home warranty had covered it. I also expressed my displeasure in her leaving me a voicemail and not allowing me time to respond before she is calling my husband and concerning him, who by the way is active duty and is not stationed in Wasilla or Anchorage. I received attitude immediately stating that was procedure when there was an outstanding bill. I asked for an invoice to be sent to me via email so I could see what I was being charged for and she told me that was backwards of how they did business that they didn't create the invoice until after payments were received. I explained to her if she wanted payment she was going to have to provide me with an invoice so I could see what I was paying for. She finally relented to email me an invoice. To put this all in perspective for everyone this conversation took place after $2600 had been paid for gas lines, and after I had them come to clean my duct work which I paid $499. the day the service was provided. I felt this was unreasonable since I had spent so much money with them already they couldn't even provide a discount on the cleaning but that I suppose is beside the point. I received the invoice for the heater repair and called the home warranty company to request why they hadn't paid for the repair and according to the customer service person I spoke to they had never received the billing from Knik Heating. The services were provided and I do pay my bills so I paid the invoice to Knik Heating, but I will never use them again. I apologize for this long review but this is my experience with Knik Heating and shame on me for continuing to give them another chance.

The Invoice That You Were Billed For $875.00 Was For Assorted Work. We Built A Filter Rack, Installed A Condensate Pump, And Redid The Gas Piping INSIDE Of The Furnace. These Are Not Services That Are Covered By HSA Under The Circumstances, And Beyond That - There Is AnMaximum Aggregate Amount That Can Be Billed To Your Home Warranty Annually. This Particular Invoice Was Dated For 12/28/2016 And Fell At The Very End Of The Year After Your Aggregate Was Met. It Could Not Be Billed To Your Home Warranty. Furthermore – When We Are Making Calls In Regards To A Balance Owed, We Do Call All Numbers On File As Standard Protocol. You Had Provided Us With Your Husbands Phone Number And As A Result When You Did Not Answer We Called Him. To Be Completely Honest, We Didn’t Even Have A Name Listed Next To The Number Because We Had Not Called It Previously. To The Best Of Our Knowledge It Could Just As Easily Have Been Your Cell Phone Number As It Happened To Be Your Husbands. If You Had Requested That We Not Call Him, We Would Have Gladly Taken The Number Out Of Your Account. Furthermore – If We Had Known That He Was Active Duty Military And Not Stationed State-Side, We Would Not Have Called Him. Simply Put – We Did Not Realize That Calling Your Husband Would Stir Up Concern For You. We Sincerely Apologize. In Regards To The Technician Who Took Too Long To Perform The Work To Your Shower, Sometimes Chasing A Leak Can Be A Lot Like Chasing A Ghost. He Did His Best To Handle The Situation On His Own, And Was Finally Forced To Call In Reinforcements, Who Happened To Be More Familiar With The Situation And The Circumstances That Were Making It More Complicated. This Particular Technician Is No Longer Employed With Us Due To Misconduct With His Verbal Communication – That Being Said, His Job Performance In Other Aspects Was Not In Question. I Will Sincerely Apologize For Any Mess Left At Your Home, However I Will State That We Do Not Accept Responsibility For Drywall Repairs, Though I Will Acknowledge That The Insulation And Sheet Rock That Was Removed, Should Have Been Disposed Of. When We Originally Sent The Technician Out To Replace Your Shower Faucet, It Was Supposed To Be Exactly That. Replacement Of A Faucet. Once He Arrived And Repairs Were Started, It Became Quite Apparent That The Install Crew Should Have Been Dispatched To Handle It Due To The Immense Complications Involved In The Replacement. The Install Crew Themselves Have Acknowledged This In Their Review, As You Have Stated, We Have An Excellent Installation Crew And Therefore Choose To Take Their Word In This Assessment. We Allowed The Technician To Continue To Attempt To Repair The Shower Until The Installation Crew Came Available At Our Own Cost, As You Were Not Charged For The Additional Labor, Due To The Fact That We Had Scheduled With You To Completed The Repairs That Day And Do Not Like To Let Our Customers Down On Our Agreements. In Regards To Your Experience With The Office Staff, I Do Understand That You Have Invested A Large Amount Of Money With Our Company, But That Does Not Discount The Money That You Still Did Owe. The Services You Paid For Were Performed, And You Were Even Discounted When Your Home Warranty Would Not Cover The Work. Typically We Do Not Create Invoices Prior To Receiving Payment, As Payment Is Due UPON RECIEPT Of Services, And I Do Believe That You Were Informed Ahead Of Time That There Was A Good Chance That These Particular Services Would Not Be Covered Due To Your Annual Aggregate, And The Circumstances Surrounding The Repairs. We Appreciate The Business That You Did Do With Us, And Hope You Find A Company That Is More Suited To Meet Your Particular Heating And Plumbing Needs In The Future. We Sincerely Apologize For Any Inconvenience Or Frustration That This Has Caused You, And Wish You All The Best.

I can not say enough about the service they provided. Pat came over right away on saturday morning and got the hot water working, so that we would have water for showers. He diagnosed the problem and gave use alternative choices of system to replace our outdated system. Work was completed on time and on the day they said it would. All of the technician's were polite and professional. Pat the owner answered the phone right away and gave Outstanding personal attention. I will use Knik Heating from now on.
Description of Work: The electronic control for our hot water system went out. It controls the hot water and radiant heat for our whole house. I was refered to Knik by the Home warranty provider.. This happened on the day we were leaving on vacation. Ended up all of the electronic controls needed to be replace due to the system failing and being outdated.

It started out ok. They called and said they needed to come out to take a look at the stove and see what parts were needed to get it fixed, then report back to the warranty company. We said ok. On October 10th, home warranty company approved repairs and told to order parts. Then on October 24th we received a phone call saying parts were in, when could they come pick it up, we mentioned a time of 8:00 the following Monday(Oct 28) morning. 8 came, no call, no service guy, same at 9. They did not actually show until, 9:30. I did not ever receive a phone call or talk to anyone unless, I made the call. After unhooking stove, they told me that it would be ready on Tuesday(Oct 29) evening or Wednesday(Oct 30) morning. Both days came and went with out phone call or update. Friday afternoon, I called to get an update. I had to call again, because again, no one called me back. They told me then that the parts had not arrived until Wednesday the 30(so we had been lied to and unheated basement stayed cool), they also told me that I had never been told that unit would be ready on Tuesday or Wednesday, again a lie. They told me on Friday that they really had not even started looking at it and it was probably going to be another week and a half before I get it back. They called me today on Monday and said they had to order more parts which they expect to be in on Friday. They blame the parts on Steve's Toyo repair. These guys have lied and have not communicated with me through the whole process. Not very happy with their service and will be telling everyone I know.

They showed up half an hour late, when they were 20 minutes late I called to see if they were going to show up and they said they were on the way. They inspected the furnace and agreed the unit was bad; they said the furnace manufacturer did not have an authorized repair shop in Alaska, so although the suspected faulty part was under warranty, the manufacturer wouldn't pay for labor or shipping, that I'd have to pay up front to have the part removed, shipped to Seattle and inspected. They also recommended that instead of replacing the part that I replace the furnace since it was so old; they said either HWA or the manufacturer would probably reimburse me for all or part of the work. After they replaced the faucets, I looked under each sink and discovered a leak under one of them that wasn't there previously. We made an appoinment for them to return and fix the leak and, depending on what HWA said, to replace or repair the furnace. In the meantime, I called the manufacturer and discovered that there was an authorized repair shop in Alaska, located near my house. That vendor came out and agreed that the furnace needed replacing. HWA wouldn't pay for anything, as they determined that the problem existed before I bought my home. I called Knik Heating back to confirm our appointment for the leak repair and to let them know that since I'd be paying for the new furnace myself, I'd like a bid from them for a new furnace installation. They didn't call me back, so I called again; they never called me back and didn't show up to fix the leak that they created. I was very disappointed in their lack of professionalism and poor attitude.
Description of Work: When I moved into my house in July the furnace wasn't working; although it had been working when I had the inspection. I had my heating contractor look at the furnace and he determined it needed to be repaired or replaced. Knik Heating was the vendor for my home warranty company, HWA, so I had to have them inspect the unit and do any authorized work. They performed an inspection of the furnace. While they were there, they replaced four existing faucets with new ones that I had purchased.
