During the improvement process it is important to be organize and timely. The details in pre-planning your project are essential to the outcome. At Flawless Construction our team is dedicated and focused on performing your improvements to achieve a stress free project for you, our valued customer. Some remodeling companies describe design/build remodeling as simply the ability to produce the drawings for your project and then construct begin the build process. At Flawless Construction we believe that design/build should be much more than that. Each project is designed for the individual customer and satisfaction with the completed project is our primary goal. Working together with you during the design/build process is one of the best ways to assure your satisfaction. We work with you until we have what you want. A major benefit of our design/build techniques is that it makes the design phase much more efficient by bringing the budget into the picture from day one. Together, we will develop a design that works with your ideas, lifestyle and goals. Using an experienced contractor helps bring extensive knowledge of the materials and construction techniques to the design/build process. This adds value to the project by helping you select the right materials and construction methods. This helps to avoid the unnecessary expense of labor and material cost. Our service starts with your very first phone call to our company. During our business hours of Monday through Friday 8-am to 5pm you will be able to speak directly with someone in our office. We will briefly discuss the project, get some basic information and set up an appointment to look at your home. At our first meeting we will discuss your basic project, ideas and budget. We will show before and after pictures of past projects and discuss basic costs and fees for design work, building permits and so on. We will take some basic measurements and a few digital pictures of the project location. The first meeting usually takes about 1 hour. With this information we can prepare a preliminary estimate. If the project is simple, we may be able to give you an estimate on the spot. Once the preliminary estimate is done we will set up a second appointment either over the phone or in person. At the second appointment we will review the preliminary estimate and discuss the project in more depth. Most people are able to decide at this point, with the information provided, if they are ready to proceed on with their improvements.

Jordan came out to give an estimate. After he came out I was told he would have an estimate to me in a week. That was over a month ago. I have called and left messages twice and have been told I will get a call back. Never have gotten a call. If he doesn't want the work just let me know but blowing me off like this is unprofessional. Glad that I didn't get any work done by this company.

So we started to talk with this company about adding on an addition to our existing shop. They came out in March of last year and provided a competitive bid but the problem was that they weren't willing to have us sign the bid and move forward. We tried all summer to work with them - needing this before winter and they just wouldn't come forth with the final paperwork to get going on this. It was quite frustrating actually. So save yourselves some time here. Jordan seems to be professional and upfront but the efforts were wasted. His bid for the drywall portions were substantially higher than others - in fact, very high. So if you CAN get them on board with your project and are looking to have something done, you might just leave it to the framing portion.

Set up an energy rating over a month in advance. Was told the appointment would be from 1:00pm-4:00pm, but that we need to be available an hour and a half ahead of time (11:30am), so I took the day off of work. The day of the appointment they called and left a message at 10:30am to say they won't be coming and we need to reschedule. After calling them back they offered no explanation, nor apology (along with a bit of attitude) and said if we wanted to reschedule that we would need to call back another day. Customer service goes a long way & their lack of it was very disappointing. We will find another company to work with in the future.

Our ice damming problem from the winter of 2012 turned into a home insurance claim and over the course of several months, we had nearly a dozen contractors come out to give us bids and offer their ideas of what was truly causing the problem (the attached neighbors' original 30-year-old roof? Compromised decking? Ice dams? No one could be sure). Each bid was enormous and a few included actually ripping off our existing roof (only 7 years old), raising it a few inches, and replacing it (~$20k). We got a lawyer, thinking we'd need to sue the uncooperative landlord next door for the problems we thought his bad roof was causing, as well as the mold damage along the joint wall. It was an absolute nightmare, and it looked like there was no way insurance was going to cover even half of the repairs. We were at wit's end and living in a half-demoed home with a E.T.-esque mold quarantine room that dominated the main floor. Until we called in Jordan. Jordan was the only contractor who actually inspected the entire house and took a look in the crawl space and the attic. Although we do in fact have a hot roof, get ice dams, and the neighbors' roof is in awful shape, Jordan believed the real cause of all the leaking was woefully inadequate ventilation. We had no idea that our dryer vent wasn't routed out from the crawl space, so we were literally pumping gallons of water down there on a weekly basis. Our attic ducting was also in sad shape, bent in some places, and gallons of water was collecting in it. Jordan has a background in building science and was able to explain everything in a way that made perfect sense. He spent a few hours at our home, and drew us pictures and answered a litany of tedious questions, never once making us feel like he had somewhere else to be. Once we agreed on the work and the cost, we had to wait a couple of weeks to begin (busy summer season). However, when they arrived, Jordan's crew made quick work of restoring our downstairs with new insulation and drywall, re-venting the crawl space and the attic, installing a new attic fan, and leveling the deck. My favorite part, however, was the sound deadening they installed in our master bedroom. Our master shares a wall with the neighbors' master, and nearly every day we would endure talking, snoring, and other unpleasant noises that made us feel that they were more roommates than neighbors (I don't even want to know what they could hear coming from our side). I researched extensively and chose an alternative and relatively inexpensive product, Green Glue. Although Jordan's crew had never used it before and (understandably) had no faith that it would give us the results we wanted, they carefully read the instructions and installed it correctly. Two months on, it has finally cured, so no more mid-range noises and NO MORE SNORING! Less than $1,000 was spent fixing this problem. Success! Since the repairs have been completed, we've been able to use Jordan as an advisor of sorts on some other work around the house, and he is great about getting us names and numbers of reputable contractors. We will also be using him later this year to do an evaluation/utility upgrades under the Alaska Home Energy Rebate Program. Bottom line: we had a seemingly insurmountable problem and an extremely tight budget. Jordan and his team came in and fixed it, the right way, for far less than we thought we'd have to spend. (We were also able to afford the sound deadening - not part of the insurance claim.) We feel like we have a brand new house that works the way it should, and we didn't have to sue the neighbors (what a relief!). For as long as we live in Alaska, Jordan will be our go-to guy for all home repairs.
Description of Work: Our 30-year-old townhome in Eagle River suffers from yearly ice damming problems brought on by a hot roof (bad design). Poor ventilation in the crawlspace and attic was compounding the problem. Sound deadening in master bedroom installed. Back deck lifted, leveled, and braced.

Jordan started working with us in February on this project. He immediately recognized our problem and solutions. He is very knowledgeable and was extremely paitient in answering my questions and explaining what and why things needed to be done. We had to wait for spring and cooperating weather to get the job started. Once the weather permitted, Flawless was at our house and did the work in an efficient, neat, and timely matter. Couldn't have been happier.
Description of Work: Enhanced and stabilized foundation on house. Arctic entry would shift during winter and spring thaw. Also had some dampness on basement wall and Flawless improved grade and landscaped area. Both issues were corrected.

They have consistently provided profession high quality work with a smile. They are cooperative and accommodating in meeting any changing needs as the project moves to completion often providing extra details that make them stand out as a professional service. I highly recommend them for their quality service and honest execution in the projects they have undertaken. They did a super job and were not only accommodating but flexible in solving small work order changes.
Description of Work: Flawless Construction painted our 3,500 sq ft home in 2011 and did a super job. They later installed a metal roof on our garage and again did a profession high quality job. Recently, 2 Nov 2012, they replaced the shingle roof on our atrium with a metal roof. They also built (or rebuilt) an Arctic entry way for our home this past Fall. Again, they did a super job.

We called and set up an estimate (didn't take long there). After the estimate, it was a couple of weeks before I heard back with a quote. I do understand the large demand for deck services in Alaska in the summer. The deck was promised to be completed in 2 days, from tear down to completion. They did as promised with excellent work! I can say the quality and professionalism of the work has eased the pain of delay in the beginning. I would suggest planning in advance and not waiting until the last 6 weeks of "summer" in Alaska because the demands are high.
Description of Work: Tear down existing narrow deck and replace with 8' walk-way from second story door. We also had pilons (sp?) replaced on the corner of the house.

Perfect!
Description of Work: We wanted to add a deck to our walk way and with this in mind we began our research. I should forewarn anyone trying to obtain a quote during summer, it’s almost impossible, as most contractors are very busy. As a norm, we always research and contact at the very least three businesses. Treeline didn’t seem interested and never called us back and Jesen was too busy. Our third contact was Flawless and we also had a chance to see them at a home show. Flawless never seem disinterested and yes they were busy too. We decided on Flawless, because they did in fact come out to our home and provide us with an in-depth overview of what to expect and answered all our questions and gave us options, very comforting. Points of interest about this company, the crew was on time, very professional, very courteous, and treated us as if we were their only customer. I can honestly say the entire crew was very respectful, with regard to us and our property, a very welcoming attitude. The deck was completed earlier than expected and the job left very clean. We found the deck to be exactly how we envisioned it.. We can’t be happier with their work, our deck is just wonderful! These folks are the best we’ve seen in years! No doubt we will call on them again. Flawless, thank you for the outstanding job!

Description of Work: I wrote the review dated 08/04/2011 at their request, after the completion of the deck and subsequent repairs. I will stand by that review, however, since that time between my wife and myself we have requested an estimate for some additional work no less than 6 times, in person, via phone/phone message as well as email. These requests began in June of 2011 at the completion of the aforementioned repairs to the deck. They continued over the next 14 months, with absolutely no response until recently, when my wife called Jordan and set up an appointment for him to come out at 8:00 am on August 27, 2012. He didn't show, and she finally got a call 2 hours later from Flawless. Two hours after they were supposed to be here. My wife told them that according to their website their office hours are 8-5, and that they should have called at 8, not 2 hours later. They wanted to re-schedule, my wife told them to forget it. To say that their lack of response is unacceptable and unprofessional is a vast understatement, especially in light of the fact that they had totally and completely ignored 5 prior requests for an estimate. I received a call from a gentleman about mid winter asking for a recommendation for Flawless, I gave them an absolutely wonderful verbal review, even though by that time Jordan/Flawless had already ignored several requests for an estimate. Flawless turned out to be a bitter disappointment, I will not call them again, nor will I recommend them again.

Response from Flawless Construction Inc.
Customer It appears there were many issues with the booking and consistency of your previously arranged engagements where we have not been at our best. I do apologies for any inconvenience it may have caused you. I value your response and will attempt to correct my actions in the future. You both were awesome customers and I feel personally responsible for the negative outcome. If there is any way I can compensate you or come to terms please let me know and I will do my best to make things right. I can’t stand having unsatisfied customers. I understand that what has happened during the last year is unacceptable. We should have made a better attempt. I usually do not mix my personal life with business, but in this case I feel that a reasonable explanation is due. I feel like with you both we have established a friendship. Your deck was a small challenge that we overcame last year and me and ken had talked a few times about the deck and future improvements. Our main goal in business is to have exceptional customer service and perform quality improvement for our valued customers. Unfortunately we never got a chance to follow up with the project and get you out an estimate. Over the past year I have struggled with many personal issues that have impacted our daily operations. A close family member of mine has been dealing with a drug addiction that has had our whole family very concerned. Over the winter and early summer we were not sure if he was going to make it. A considerable amount of my time was taken tending to this matter. In the past few months I have been distanced from work rather frequently. My grandmother and grandfather were both very sick, Visits to the hospital were common and the family was on edge constantly. To everyone’s surprise, another close family member passes away in a disturbing manor. I spent much of my time with my family dealing with the loss. We booked your estimate a week before this event and the scheduled date for me to show up was right after his death. I do apologies for not calling you before 8am but I was up the night prior with Liz until the early morning dealing with everything and my schedule was the last thing on my mind. I should have let you know what was going on but due to the time and kayos you were overlooked until I looked at my phone and realized that your appointment had been missed. I understand that this appointment may have been the last straw for our professional relationship. The timing of everything just made it worse. I feel responsible for not communicating with everyone like I usually do, but me and Liz were both out for a wile. I tried to focus on construction as much as possible. I think the better thing to do was just be up front with our customer and let them know we were not available to perform services, but I wanted to try and take care of everyone, still taking calls as if nothing had happened , but I was very distracted and overwhelmed. Shortly after the first loss, my grandmother who is 85 decides that it is her time to go as well. She has now passed. To add to the tragedy my Grandfather had been battling with cancer and has also passed. This year is defenatly taken a tool on our customer service and relations. I would not usually involve my personal life in our business but I decided that it was better to tell you what was going on than to have you think that we just did not care at all. Now that the dust has settled, we are back to normal and have been catching up with our contracts and customers. It has been 3 weeks now sence my grandfather has passes, and I don’t forsee any other deaths any time soon (I pray there is no more) I hope that we can do business with you in the future but do understand your frustration. Thank you for your comments and time, they will be respected and we have learned from this event. Sincerely. Jordan Agen-Owner of Flawless Construction Inc.

My current boiler is nearly 40 years old. I know I'm on borrowed time with it. When I heard that I could get a rebate of several thousand dollars by participating in the AHFC energy program, I jumped at the chance to replace it at a discount. I applied for the program and was assigned Flawless Construction as my rater. I assume that the audit itself is fairly standard but what really sets Flawless apart is the thoroughness of their explanations of what needs to be done in order to qualify for as large a rebate as possible. Jordan Agen was terrific! He spent a long time answering my questions, offering suggestions and being sure that I had everything I needed to submit paperwork to get the ball rolling. A friend was over when the audit was done and she said that her rater was nowhere near as thorough or knowledgeable as Flawless. Can't wait to get my new boiler in before the snow flies and the temps drop. I'll absolutely call Flawless to do the follow up audit.

My first impression when I was assigned my energy auditor was one of confusion. The program refunds $325 for an as-is energy rating. Flawless Construction wanted to charge me $450. My thought was why would a company do this? Jumping to the audit being completed, I would have gladly paid more for the professionalism and tips Jordan showed me. This is possibly the best $450 I've spent ever, or at least in a long time. Jordan arrived on time, was very friendly, energetic and willing to share his knowledge. I had some other home issues the day he showed up, and Jordan was kind enough to look at them and provide me advice. Through the energy audit, Jordan walked me through step by step what he was doing and why. I can't begin to tell you HOW MUCH I APPRECIATED this. Not only did I get a VERY professional audit, I also gained valuable information, like how to do the upgrades myself, saving me money. I was not expecting to recieve my energy report for a couple of weeks after the audit, at the minimum. I was shocked when it showed up in the mail just a couple of days later. He had even taken the time to print out two reports and the additional paperwork needed for me to recieve my refund. All I had to do was mail the already completed paperwork. How much easier could he have made this? I have other projects around the home that may need a contractors attention. Flawless Construction will be at the top of my list of contractors to call. I look forward to working with Jordan again.

They're absolutely phenomenal. Their customer service is beyond compare. There was a problem with the deck heaving over the winter through no fault of theirs. I called them to have the deck repaired and they came out and drove pilings 17' into the ground and fixed everything at no cost to me, even though I had explained to them that I did not fault them for any problems and would pay for their work. The quality of the work is wonderful. Cosmetically, the deck is beyond our expectations.
