PRO: CEDAR SIDING - STRIPPING / RE-FINISHING WENT REASONABLY WELL AND 2-3 YEARS LATER STILL LOOKS GOOD. CON: THEIR ARE A FEW PLACES WHERE THE FUNGUS WAS NOT COMPLETED REMOVED. THEY ALSO LEFT A FAIR AMOUNT OF PULP IN THE CHANNELS VIA THE STRIPPING PROCESS. THE PAINT ON GARAGE DOORS BUBBLED UP AND HAD TO BE RE-PAINTED. THIS COMPANY WAS NON-RESPONSIVE WHEN I CONTACTED THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THE GARAGE DOORS, SO I AM IN THE PROCESS OF STRIPPING THE DOORS AND RE-FINISHING THEM MYSELF.

They did a conscientious job. We have many decks and deck railings. We had a new roof put on last year and were concerned about paint getting dripped or sprayed onto our new shingles or our outdoor decking's indoor/outdoor carpeting. They did a very neat job. We are very pleased with the results. The onsite supervisor was a very hard working person that was very amenable to any requests we had. We would hire them again.

Excellent communication. Painting was severely delayed due to rain, but they did not rush the job once they were on site. They were considerate of our concerns about our low flow well. We provided a tank with water which they used to wash the house. The foreman, Daryl, kept us apprised of the progress and issues encountered each day. The siding in the front was more weathered than we expected, requiring multiple coats, which they did without complaint. We chose a glossy trim, which also required multiple coats. This paint was not anticipated in the original bid, and so we did pay extra for the time and paint. However, the amount was quite reasonable. They cleaned up after they were finished including errant paint drips.

Working with Dave's company couldn't have been smoother from start to finish. I was looking for someone to do exterior painting and found Dave on Angie's List. I filled out a form on his website to ask for a bid. Dave responded promptly, got a bid out right away and immediately got me on their calendar after I accepted the bid. His work schedule is on a calendar on-line, so you can see when your painting is scheduled, which is very handy. The painters did excellent work, and they were quick, efficient and very neat. When they were done, Dave made sure I was happy with the work, then e-mailed the bill (his prices are very fair) and that was all there was to it. One of the most pleasant, painless experiences I've had dealing with a contractor. The most difficult part of the entire process was trying to decide which color to choose out of the six samples that we had painted on the back of the house. :-) I would not hesitate to recommend Dave to anyone looking for exterior painting.

The work was done by a professional crew that Dave sent when he couldn't do the work personally. A good job and responsive to minor issues on a call back.

Dave's painting did an excellent job of painting and cleaning up after. They were very neat and thorough.

Excellent job, performed for the quoted price, and ahead of the scheduled time. Dave included painting my shed to match the house for the quoted price, despite it not being on the original quote request. The house looks great, and I'd definitely use him again.

Dave is an excellent painter. I have referred him to numerous friends. I think he rates as the best of the best. Also, Dave is very nice person, shows up on time, and gets the job done.

He's timely and responsive. I'll keep his name for next year so I would call him back. He's very receptive and he answers every question that I ask him.

I have nothing but great things to say about this company. From the beginning, we were encouraged to research paint contractors and especially to use Angie's List by Dave's Painting and to use the $100 coupon he was offering, which we did. The estimate stated the job and cost in a professional manner. Dave explained that we were scheduled for a specific week yet we could possibly have the work done earlier depending on the weather. Dave kept us informed step by step, telling us when his crew would be coming to power wash the house, when they would paint, etc. This is a very professional company who I would recommend.

daves , crew came on time to pressure wash the exterior of the property, then they came and scraped , prime the house, also taped & prep for paint, paint was applied generously, trim was painted by hand, very professional touch !!!! very happy with the work.

I flew into Anchorage to meet with contractors and get bids. Dave was there at the scheduled time and had my estimate the next day, which was great since I was only there a few days. The job commenced at the scheduled time and was completed promptly. When he discovered the paint company provided the wrong color, he repainted that portion of the building at no additional cost to me. I am very happy with the job and would use Dave again.

Dave has been trying to complete all of his scheduled staining/painting jobs, but because of very wet weather our house was never dry enough for completion of the job. My only adverse comment was Dave's wasn't in contact to keep us updated as often as we would have liked. I do have to say whenever I called or emails he responded immediately. His crew was professional and competent during all my contacts with them. We expect to have our house completed in the spring of 2014. I'll update this review when they have finished We finally had good, dry and warm weather! Dave's crew were professional, quick, and unobtrusive! A real pleasure to have them around! The exterior painting was completed on time, without any issues, and we loved the end result. We will use them again, and highly recommend Dave's to everyone.

They came to the house to walk around before giving estimate. The estimate seemed to be in the middle of the estimates we received. The job was scheduled on their website calendar, and was completed mostly on schedule, perhaps a week or so late, but given that the work is weather dependent this seemed reasonable. The appearance is good, and attention to detail was good.

Dave's Painting & Drywall pressure washed my house, had to do extensive scrapping on the south and west facing walls due my 12-year-old paint job peeling from sun exposure on the 12 year old stain job I had (there was minimal scrapping on the other walls because they weren't subject to near as intense of sun exposure), primed the exposed wood, and then applied two coats of paint on the body and trim of my house and newly built shed. Due to the rainy weather of the past several weeks it took awhile to complete the job but they worked with me on scheduling since I have two dogs that normally have free access to the backyard and the one time they did not show when originally anticipated the owner came by to personally explain what happened and apologize for the inconvenience and was able to get workers out within an hour or so. While what I paid was a little higher than some of the quotes I got from other contractors it wasn't out of the ballpark and based on the amount of prep work they performed and the quality of their work I think the little extra was well worth it. As a neighbor of mine, who painted his house himself this summer, said "If I knew you could find contractors that would do that quality of a job and put that much effort into the prep work these days I'd have hired them to do my house."

Did a great job. Dave's crew were very professonal and addressed all my needs. They fit me into there busy schedule and worked aroud all the rain.

Unreturned phone calls and e-mail, delayed project completion, unprofessional relationship with the customer - these are the regrettable experiences I have had over the years here in the Anchorage area with contractors. So it comes as a pleasant surprise to have had my low expectations raised substantially in my dealing with Dave Meyer, proprietor of Dave's Painting and drywall. Responsive, timely, excellent work. The price was competitive - even with my choice of a higher grade of paint than the standard paint contractors commonly use. I would use Dave's services again and recommend him to others.

Great service! Called for quote and had it the next day. Told me when they could do it and they did it right on schedule. I really liked the online calendar with projects listed...you could check up on the status.

We contacted Dave for an estimate to paint the outside of our home, as we had added on last summer. He got out to the house and submitted the estimate via email within a few days. The price was below what we were anticipating. They were about 3 weeks out which is to be expected this time of year. They ended up starting a couple days ahead of time and finished in 3 1/2 days. The crew was friendly and professional.

The initial contact and qoute (w/ Darrell) was very professional. Naturally, we had to provide the paint which definitely added up costs. We were qouted $100 per room and $200 for the bathroom. On the scheduled day, they were 20 minutes late with no warning. It was an understandable reason, but no excuse for not calling ahead. They went straight to work after arriving. Did need to provide them a ladder for the rooms, thought that was odd. I was across the street staying with a friend while they worked and looked out the window. They were smoking on the porch! My home was being prepped for renters... I wouldn't have allowed them to smoke even if they asked, which they most certainly did not. To top it all off, when I came in to look over the work, the bathroom and one of the other rooms had two different shades of the colors. Clearly not right, I asked them to fix it. They did so without hesitation. But should an average home owner need to spot out imperfections on "professional" painters? Even after the fix, it was still off. Only saving grace was the discount from Angie's List which they honored.

Painters were on time, courteous and professional. The crew used the appropriate tools, and above all, they cleaned up behind themselves as they went. Overall, very satisfied and will difinately use them again in the future.

Dave visited our home and inspected it for his bid proposal within hours of our fist contact with him. We had his bid within nearly a day after his visit. He was clear in his explanation of services, options, costs, and other considerations. Dave and his crew painted the complete exterior of our home and my storage shed in a three-color combination. Additionally, they stripped down our large deck to bare wood and refinished it - rails painted and flooring stained. Our home is a three-story chalet that is carved into the side of a steep slope on a mountain. It is breezy up where we are and the rain patterns are different than Eagle River and the Anchorage bowl, making it real challenge to plan for and perform outdoor work, especially painting. In short, working on the exterior of our home is not an easy prospect. That wasn't the only challenge our house presented to the paint crew. Over the last 14 years, the original owner of the home, followed by me, made a real mess of the deck surface through poor choices of sealants and sealant application errors. Dave's crew worked very hard and should be very proud of their craftsmanship. The house, deck, and shed now look beautiful. Overall, we are very pleased with the high quality work we received. The attention to detail of this crew was excellent. They were very attentive to our requests and instructions and treated us with respect and politeness from the first contact through job completion. At first, the price seemed a bit high, but considering the quality and attention to detail Dave's Painting gave, it was worth every Penny. The crew even performed some extra services for which I had not contracted and for which I did not have to pay. It was apparent to me and my wife that Dave and his crew really take pride in their work and reputation. I can recommend Dave's Painting without hesitation.
