We have used AWC in the past years for numerous jobs around our property. Everything from cleaning out water logged areas to digging a water line, back filling around our new shop and replacing a pitiless on the well at one point. Each of those times, he was very good and does a very nice job. He is great on his dozer and does it quickly and efficiently. The problem with the last time we needed his services was that he was apparently upset that we had the rock delivered from a closer gravel pit that saved us hundreds of dollars in both materials and the transport. (4 loads in one hour vs. 1.2 in an hour is significant in trucking time.) Now be assured, he does not own the pit and does not make any money off the materials, only the trucking of them. He agreed to come start the work and then two days later, didn't show up and didn't return our phone calls about coming to complete it. We attempted to contact him for about a week off and on, both home/cell numbers. We had cleared it with the pit, that he could even haul the materials and he still never returned our calls. At that point we were into the month of September with an impending winter upon us, he completely left us in a pickle. After much scrambling, we managed to find a suitable rental unit and did the work ourselves. The overall clincher was that for about $300 to $500 (yes three hundred to five dollars) worth of drive time, he was willing to forgo the total job that was around $7500 for the work. It has been more than once now that we have needed his services and he commits verbally and then doesn't follow through. The previous time was back in the fall of around '09 or '10 and the following spring/summer he admitted to us that he was hunting (although he still never returned the calls even later on over the winter either.) The long and short of this is that unless you are just pondering having the work done, you might be better off to look elsewhere for a reliable person that will communicate with you and not leave you to your own devices. Better yet, just do it yourself.

Phil came out to clear trees and grade the ground in anticipation of a fencing project and some other land projects we had (clearing an area for a fire pit and trampoline outdoor section). We are on 3+ acres of old growth very large birch/ aspen and pine trees along with some alders and cottonwoods. He worked very quickly and moved that bobcat like I have never seen, getting trees down and out of the way all the while not crossing the property line or knocking a single lot line stake (done for the fencing). He even successfully cleared trees very close to the house. He was exceptionally friendly and did exactly as I asked. He was SUPER nice to my children who regularly interrupted him to ask questions and check out his equipment. He came when he said he would and worked diligently the entire time. I can not believe what he was able to clear and do in the two days he was here. His prices were phenomenal (we've had similar work done before on different parts of the lot). I would highly recommend him!
