Fairbanks Pumping & Thawing

I contacted Fairbanks Pumping and Thawing on a Thursday and they were able to come out Saturday which I found awesome. I wanted to and quot;beat the rushand quot; for the season on this service and get it done before Fall really set in. Receptionist was extremely friendly when I called to make an appointment, and the truck operator was the same when they came to perform the service. They were very quick, in and out within 30 minutes for a 900 gallon pump.

Pumped out our septic tank. The driver was very polite and prompt. Would recomend this service to all.

Everything went smoothly--they came on the appointed day, got right to work, and were done relatively quickly. I wondered about the general state of the system, but they could only tell me that everything seemed okay--more detail isn't really their job, I guess. My only reservation was that when I called for an appointment, I was only given a day, but not a specific window of time on that day to expect the appointment--hence the B for punctuality. I had intended to call back about this, but never got around to it, so I guess it wasn't too much of a problem for me.

Representative showed up on time. He was pleasant and he did a good job. I would use again.

What really stands out is how they stayed very late on wickedly cold night(s) checking every line they had access to with the steam hose, including accessing a vent pipe from up over the very tall roof, to try to find the source of blockage. The responder would find surprisingly little resistance and surprisingly close, some unusual pipe configurations (behind walls and floors and ceilings, of course). The boss was called and came to help try to figure it out. Then they got the camera-on-a-reel. Pulling first one then another toilet, they sent this down through the drain line (like a colonoscopy) and found the culprit: A screw straight through the middle of the drain pipe, on which toilet paper snagged. Unfortunately, this obstruction kept them from checking further until a later visit, because to remove the screw entailed our cutting through the laminate flooring and subfloor materials, which we were not able to do right then for some reason. Once this was done, though, they returned and found a second - and last - screw that was straight down through a further section of drainage pipe, left by remodeler Ness. Fairbanks Pumping and Thawing personnel were responsive, competent, thorough, friendly, and they cleaned up after their work. I would call them back without hesitation.

We have had good service from them. They have good service. The price is reasonable. If we have a frozen septic line, they come out right away.

After initially pumping our my septic tank (cost $325.00) they never followed up and returned my calls. I wanted to have the whole sytem replaced.Now I will have to find some one else to do it.
