The first cleaning service was excellent. Of course, I was home at the time. The service rapidly desinigrated, especially when I was not there. Faith Brownlee will do as little as possible but has no problem cashing your check immediately. I was out of town for six weeks,. I left this service provider a $300 dollar down payment to continue to clean and leave water and food for my two cats and change their litter. I also let her know at this time that I would reimburse her for any added fees upon my return and that she would provide me with an itemized bill. This was a verbal arrangement of which she agreed. I asked her to call me if there were any problems; she did not. It is tough to tell whether or not this service provider actually showed up or not. Faith Brownlee's is a lot more trouble than she is worth. She became a liability and not a service provider. The most amusing thing was that she left me a note on the day of my return saying that she had to terminate the service because she had not been paid. (??) I guess I am left wondering what I paid $300 for. Service is not dependable and I actually think she forgot about the original payment? I'm glad to get rid of her.
Description of Work: House cleaning services: floors, bathrooms, kitchen counters, dusting, & vacumming. Service DOES NOT: clean carpets, change bed linens, make beds, clean any bio-hazard (any messes related common household pets, cat or dog), wash dishes. Service does not do anything extra unless there is extra payment.

I have been in the cleaning business for over two years and have developed a sixth sense about people. I had a feeling that this particular person would be a problem, and right from the start, my intuition was correct. I require all of my clients to sign a service agreement before starting cleaning services. In it, everything is clearly stated including price, initial cleaning price, cleaning day, and other very simple expectations. Although I went over the agreement with Caryn, she didn't appear to be very interested in what it said or what her end of the agreement meant. When I showed up for her initial clean, she only had half the payment and attempted to get me to agree to wait for the rest of the payment. It is clearly stated in the service agreement that payment in full is to be made the day of cleaning. On another occasion, I showed up on her scheduled day, and not only was the house not ready for cleaning, Caryn was still in bed asleep. She asked me to come back another day, and I graciously rescheduled her clean and did not charge her a show-up fee although I have the option to do so according to the service agreement. Caryn informed me that she would be going out of town for six weeks and asked me to care for her cats. Since it appeared that she has no one to care for her cats while she's out of town working, I reluctantly agreed to do so even though I do not normally provide animal care or handle bio-hazards. I cleaned her home according to the number of times she had paid in advance and her cats were well taken care of. I also took the time to flush her toilets and run her water to ensure that her water and septic hadn’t frozen each time I went over. She called me one time in the six week timeframe and I let her know that I could not reach her on either her cell phone or work phone up north where she works. I assumed that she would understand that she would need to call me as she also does not monitor her email address. The $300 that she paid me covered her cleaning through December 13, plus the care of her cats. It is clearly stated in the service agreement that all cleans must be paid for on the day of the clean. I called her home phone the day before her clean on the 27th to remind her that I would be cleaning and to please leave payment (this method of communication was the only one that I had available). When I showed up on the day of her clean, there was no payment left. I do not have time to chase payments down and I am not interested in accepting half payments or future payments. I have absolutely no problem with any of my other 10 clients regarding payments for cleaning, and it was clear to me that this particular client would continue to be a problem concerning payments, so I made the decision to end the cleaning contract. Although I performed according to both the service agreement and the verbal agreement concerning the animal care, I would be willing to refund this client if she wishes. I would strongly recommend that other cleaning companies in the area refuse to work for this particular person.
