Description of Work: We purchased a Laser-30 Toyo heating stove from The Woodway, and also hired their technician for the installation.

Description of Work: I went to purchase a woodstove and install from Woodway. Not until the day, 15 mins before, of installation did I get a call from them and was told they would not install a stove in a home that has a 12/24 pitch roof. I asked them to come out instead to look at the home, they begrudgingly came and wanted to do four turns in the chimney going up through a second story. Unreal! |Very unprofessional, very unknowledgeable in installations. | |I took my business to Firesafe Chimney and purchased a woodstove with installation from them. They installed the 12/24 flashing, very professional and knowledgeable. | |Will never recommend Woodway. They only want a monopoly in the Fairbanks area. They do not have any customer service.

Description of Work: Pellet Stove Purchase: The cost for installation, material, smoke stack/vent, and labor is very expensive, which is not included in the elevated cost of the Pellet Stove. With another vendor the stove, smoke stak/vent package, and other items are 1/3 the cost of Woodway.

Description of Work: I purchased wood pellets. They were the only ones to be found in town when I ran out. Saved the day!

Description of Work: We mostly dealt with Roy. He's extremely nice, patient, and explains things clearly. In all of our dealings, about half a dozen times over approx 6 weeks, for various services and items, we had prompt service, courteous personnel, and they did what they said they would. We contracted for a wood stove to be installed. They gave us a good estimate, they came when they said they would, and the work was done professionally and courteously. We also went to buy a few items (wood racks, various sundry items for the stove, fire starter bricks) and again we got exactly what we asked for - they even helped load it into the car.

Description of Work: The Woodway was hired to cut 3 new floor vents, one pass-thru vent (a vent to push air from downstairs to upstairs), to re-build our hearth (change the sheetrock to concrete board), and to change the single-wall stove pipe to double-wall pipe. We later needed them to change out our boiler stack as well. The Woodway sent Shep out to do the estimate, but Bill and Dale did the work. While Bill and Dale were doing the demo of the old hearth, they discovered that the base of the hearth not strong enough to support our wood stove so they made it stronger by adding a layer of 3/4" plywood. After the tile was installed, they put together the double wall stove pipe and put the wood stove back in place along with a new heat shield. The 3 floor vents, to let heat pass from downstairs to upstairs, were installed with ease and look great. However, the pass-thu vent could not be accomplished by The Woodway because of the area we need it to go from and to (it's too confusing to explain here so I won't). We have hired someone else to do it. Due to some renovations in our garage we later asked The Woodway to relocate our boiler stack, which Bill and Dale did with ease after the needed parts came in. This included adding new support to the old stack by cutting into the chase thru a bedroom closet wall and adding a "T" joint to the old stack to bring it away from a structure beam.

Description of Work: I bought a wood stove and had The Woodway do the install. Total price was around $3,400. The quality of the product was good. At the store, the customer service was poor. They were borderline rude and need to learn more customer professionalism. The installers who did the work for "The Woodway" were rather rude, however they did a good job. Phone calls were not made back to me on the time frames that were given. This is one of the only Wood Stove stores in Fairbanks, Alaska, thus they have the market cornered. Bummer.
