Woke up to a cold house. went down stairs and found the boiler wasn't working. Called Stews and found that the primary controller had gone bad. Instead of replacing it with factory replacement he replaced it with a Honeywell R7284 controller. he told me that the Honeywell R7284 was a plug and play replacement. Couple of days later i was down stairs and noticed the boiler would run from 30 second to 3 minutes. the furnace was constantly maintaining a 170 degrees. Even with the low setting at 140 degrees and the high at 165 degrees. I also noticed at the supply temp for my radiant floor heat was at 170 degrees. Ideal temp for radiant floor heat is the supply at 135 degrees and the return at 105 degrees. I again contacted Stews. After double checking his installation of the controller he informed that controller was wired correctly. When it came to trouble shoot the mixing valve it became apparent he didn't know what he was doing. he tried to control the problem by partly closing the supply ball valve. as a temporary fix. after numerous attempts to contact stews to not only repair the mixing valve. The furnace was not running properly. He failed to return my phone calls, nor would he respond to my text messages. I them contact a friend who is a mechanical engineer and explained what was going on he put me in contact with another contractor. Come to find out the new controller wasn't programmed correctly and he didn't install the TT jumper wire. Then after further trouble shoot we found the mixing valve was also bad. It's apparent that Stews Heating Service is limited in knowledge in furnace controls and radiant floor heating controls. To make things worse I walked into the showroom for where I work and there he sat. When waited for he to finish his conversation he immediately got up from his chair left and didn't even acknowledge me.

Wonderful. From the start of the flood to when the whole thing was finished it took 9 days! I couldn't believe what a good, efficient job they did. Contrast 9 days to fix my flood with my parents' home flood and it's been 3 years since and there is still remnants of flood damage.
