Description of Work: I have had mixed service with Glacier Point and Stack. My first experience was really positive, the technician came out to help with a frozen pipe line. He spent around seven hours at my house trying to make sure that I have water and everything was working. We wasted two hours of inspection due to having a frozen water filter. The technican did not charge me for those two hours and I was grateful for that. My lines froze again several weeks later and I called Glacier Point to ask if a technican could come out if I needed one. I stated I had built a pipe thawing unit, but wanted to make sure I could have someone come out if I was unable to solve the issue. I clearly told the dispatcher to have the technician call me before he would come out so I would not be charged for services not needed. The technican arrived at my house 45 minutes later never calling me before hand. I said I did not need him and he stated I would still be charged. I paid the bill and called the company to resolve the issue. When I called the receptionist stated that management was on vacation and someone would call me back soon. I called twice more over the course of two weeks trying to talk to someone and was given the same information. They accepted my payment, however they could not be bothered to talk about the issue with me even to this date.

Description of Work: Upstairs bathroom was leaking into the laundry room. Called and they were out the next day. What we thought was a large problem was a simple fix and they took care of it. My only issue was the person that came out could not do the caulking needed because what he had was frozen. Okay no big deal he should us how and where! I recommend that you keep your supplies where they wont freeze. Overall the person was helpful and fixed the leak. We will use them again if ever needed.

Description of Work: On the 5th of December 2012, I called Stack Plumbing and arranged for them to go over to my rental property and snake out a drain. The office girl told me that I would be the 2nd call for the day, that was fine, I then asked around what time is that?? She told me you can never tell that was fine with me but she thought it should be around 11:00 am. I told her Thank You. I had my son sitting at the property by 11:00 waiting for them. At noon my son called them and asked what was going on and how much longer it would be. They told him that they had an emergency and after that they would be out to do our place. That is fine. When I got off of work I called them at(4:00PM) I asked them do they know if they would make it today or not? The Office Manager told me that they were on the way, so I made it to the property by 4:25 and waited for over a hour, again not a big deal. When the driver finally showed up and got his truck parked, the first thing that he said to me was that I can only work for 1 hour and then I am on overtime..... I told him that I did not feel that I should have to pay the overtime fee as I was the 2nd job on the list for the day, (I understand that they had an emergency job, but I should not be made to pay the overtime fee for that). After the discussing we finally got started and he ran a snake down the drain and it was to short (40-50 foot) and that was the biggest one that he had on the truck. So he had to come back the next day. I was at work the next day and my wife called saying that they were done and they would not caulk the toilet even thought it was there when they took it off. So she gave the phone to the plumber and I talked to the plumber and he said that it was only there for looks and that the toilet was fine without it. I said that is true but I had it put on for a reason. He told me he would go and buy a tube and charge me for the time and the material to do it. I do not feel that a plumber shoud be coming to a job without the material to do a job. I do understand that not all people want the caulking but I did. I then called the office and talked to the Office Managert again and she told me that it is not required that they carry the caulking on the truck and most people do not want it. I told her that it was there before the job was started and why would you not put the job back the way it was when you started??? She then told me that I was a too demanding of a customer and if I did not like the job then do not use them again. I told her I will not and I will also pass the word to all of my other friends who own property like I do.

Description of Work: Our kitchen ceiling sprung a leak. It turned out to be a nail hole in a supply pipe. They cut the damaged part of the pipe and replaced it.

Description of Work: First of all, I think it is tough to find good plumbers in Alaska because very few of them agree on how to address the complex issues involved in living in a climate with temps fluctuating 120 degrees each year. I would say that these guys were very nice, though slow during the initial weeks of this project (my house froze during the winter and I need the entire place replumbed). The entire thing could have been finished in less than 30 hours, but it took them more than three weeks. The job seemed to be really well-done until there was a leak I noticed a few days after the repairs had ended. The plumber did not appreciate having to come back to my house for a leak, so he was frustrated and I really hoped that I didn't have to call them again. It's now July and things look good with the new pipes, faucets, and drains.

Description of Work: After learning about Angie's List I immediately signed up to learn the rating of our local plumbers. I had a leak in my garage and I called the highest rating plumber to do the job. I was a littler concern at first when I called because the service people just took lunch and was told they were to call me back. Less then 5 min I not only had a phone call but they was on their way to my house. They could have replaced some things that didnt needed to be replace which would cost me money but they went straight to the root of the problem and very fast. Come to find out the pressure in my house was to high, that's why things was leaking. The older gentelman is very good and knows his stuff. I am making this plumbing company the company my realtor can use. Good Job.....

Description of Work: I had a sewer freeze-up/blockage on a Friday morning. Charlie came out and cleared the line. He was very good about telling me what he was doing and why. He also gave me some recommendations on how to avoid in the future. Unfortunately, I've recently had another blockage and/or freeze-up, and Charlie was good enough to come out and take care of this one as well. We are moving on to scoping/videotaping the line today and I'm happy that Charlie is the one doing that work as well. I really trust his judgement.

Description of Work: Responded to call for no running water thru out the home at 45 BELOW. Through the process of elimination tech determined that both lines of the water service were working, as the relief valve, however the line running that came into the house was frozen. The technician had to cut into the drywall to thaw it out using a heat gun. Afterwards he cleaned up the mess that he had made.
