He was willing to try something new and he was interested in the work he did. He did a very good job. It was a big job. It took all day long with him working and we're very pleased. The only thing was he took out the nozzles and said he would be able to get to it better if he removed the toilet so I said go ahead and he didn't actually put the toilet back. He didn't put the nozzle back in the tub because he need the tub to dry first for several hours. He's great and the product was wonderful.
Description of Work: I had a jacuzzi bathtub where there was leakage on the jets and there was no way to fix that without tearing up the whole bathroom to get through the tub so I removed the jets and Tub Renu came in and resurfaced the whole tub so it looks now like a regular very huge bathtub.

Bob Lee dripped some of the re-finishing product on my tile floor and ruined 9 of my tiles. Bob stated since I had three other separate tiles in the bathroom with hairline cracks in them, that it was not worth his time to fix his mistake. Bob stated someone who buys my house was going to tear up the floor anyways and they wouldn't care about the staining. I don't think it's Bob's decision to say whether or not someone who buy's my house is going to replace flooring. Bob ruined 9 tiles with his staining product at no fault of mine. Bob initially agreed the responsibility was his to fix the tiles, but when he came back to do the repair, he told me he wasn't going to do it because of the aforementioned reasons. I don't see what the other tiles that he didn't ruin have to do with the one's that he did ruin.
Description of Work: Bob Lee re-finished my cast iron tub in my bathroom.

Response from Tub Renu
THE MEMBER’S EXPLANATION HAD SEVERAL GAPS IN IT. HE IS CORRECT THAT DURING THE REFINISHING PROCESS, SOME OF THE ETCHING AGENT GOT ON THE TILES NEXT TO HIS TUB. THOUGH STAINS OF THIS NATURE HAVE NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE, I ASSUME THAT THE AGE & QUALITY OF THE TILES LED TO THIS OCCURANCE. PRIOR TO PAYMENT, THE MEMBER ASKED IF THERE WAS SOME ADJUSTMENT I COULD DO AS A RESULT OF THE STAINS. HE HAD PREVIOUSLY ASKED THAT I INSTALL A SLIP-RESISTANT MAT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB, AT A COST OF $30....SO I SUGGESTED THAT I GIVE HIM THE MAT FOR FREE, OR AS CONSIDERATION FOR THE STAINS ON HIS TILES. HE AGREED WITH THIS ARRANGEMENT, AND I WAS TO INSTALL THE MAT AS SOON AS ITS SHIPMENT ARRIVED. BY THE WAY, THE MAT WAS INSTALLED ON THE 2ND OF AUGUST (THE DAY IT ARRIVED TO ME ) THOUGH THE MEMBER FORGOT TO MENTION THAT SMALL DETAIL. THERE WAS NO CHARGE AS WE AGREED. AS WELL, I DID MENTION TO HIM THAT THERE WERE 5 FLOOR TILES THAT WERE NOTICEABLY CRACKED, AND THAT THE BUYER OF HIS HOME WOULD MOST ASSUREDLY REPLACE THE FLOOR ANYWAY. THE MEMBER DID NOT MENTION IN HIS COMPLAINT THAT HE WAS FIXING UP HIS HOME FOR SALE. THE MEMBER RENEGED ON HIS AGREEMENT WITH ME. WHY? PERHAPS IT WAS TO TRY FOR FURTHER COMPENSATION IN THE MANNER OF REFINISHING HIS OTHER TUB....FOR FREE. IN SUMMARY, THE MEMBER KNEW VERY WELL THAT HIS FLOOR WAS ALREADY PRETTY DAMAGED, AND THAT NEW OWNERS WOULD MOST ASSUREDLY REPLACE IT. HE USED MY ACCIDENTAL STAINING OF HIS TILES TO WREST FROM ME A FREE NON-SLIP MAT, WHAT WE AGREED ON, AND NOW WANTS TO TRY FOR MORE FREEBIES, AS IN ANOTHER OF HIS TUBS REFINISHED FOR FREE. I HAVE ALWAYS BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO SATISFY MY CUSTOMERS, SOMETIMES EVEN WHEN NO WARRANTY APPLIES, BUT THERE IS A LIMIT TO BEING ABUSED....AND IT STOPS HERE! SINCERELY, BOB LEE

He was there at 8 am as promised and when I checked in latter that day he was gone and the tub was sparkling. He left instructions for tub care in an envelope on the bathroom commode. To be honest, this is the second time I have had Tub Renu refinish an old tub for me. These are in a 4plex we own and ripping out an old tub would require ripping out walls... Something we didn't want to do. So I decided to try this. I am sold on it! The first tub was done at least 3 years ago and it still looks great, and if tenants don't destroy a finish, it must be pretty good. They had little kids too. Any way it is a bit pricey, but if you don't want to get into major construction, it is well worth it.
Description of Work: Cleaned and prepped old tub. Filled in chips and other damage than put a finish coat on that makes the tub look as good as new. He also put a non slip coating on the bottom of the tub and added a new drain and plug.
