, From the design to the installation to the maintence the overall project has run very smoothly.
Description of Work: Sanctuary Landscaping installed a large perennial bed on the side of the house. They removed the existing mulch, conditioned the soil, then installed the plantings. In the front of the house they removed a large area of existing small black rock, and replaced it with larger round rocks. They installed 5 tons of rock mulch in the existing shrub bed and installed 3 landscape boulders at one end of the shrub bed. They also pruned all existing shrubs. They are now maintaining all shrub and flower beds and cutting the lawn.

I asked Cean to create a stained glass for me and I kept getting empty promises on the completion date. Six months went by before I decided to bring closure to the stained glass project. I wish I would have gone somewhere else.
Description of Work: What I didn't take pleasure in about contracting my design with Cean (Sanctuary Stained Glass) is that she kept changing the final completion date of my stain glass design and she gave me multiple excuses why she couldn't complete it. If you do decide to have Cean create something for you, I recommend you get a FIRM written contract signed by Cean with all the requirement listed (initial deposit given, description of the artwork, colors of each item, a firm price for the artwork, and COMPLETION date). I wish I would have done that! My art work was under Cean's hands for MORE than six months. Check out the Alaska Court System cases at www.courtrecords.alaska.gov under Sanctuary Stained Glass.

Response from Sanctuary Stained Glass
This woman, who is not using her real name because she knows I would sue her for slander, commissioned me to make her a custom piece of artwork. When I informed her of the price she said she couldn't afford it. I gave her a military discount to offset the cost. I then told her I required a 50% down payment (which is the standard in our industry). She said she couldn't afford that and would I take payments. I told her I was wary of doing that. I told her the only way I would agree to that was if I worked on the piece in between other projects and that it could be longer than 6 months for completion. I informed her that my design time was $45.00 an hour and that it was non-refundable. She said that would be fine there was no rush and agreed to regular monthly payments in front of two other witnesses. I received her first two monthly payments late. After not receiving her third scheduled payment and getting no response from her after repeatted attempts, I suspended work on her project. Then after 3 months of no contact, she calls me out of the blue demanding I refund all her money or she's taking me to small claims court. She was extremely abusive, erratic and strange. I told her I would refund what little money she had paid me minus the time for the design fee which was non-refundable. She hung up on me and then called me approximately 20 times over the next week screaming obscenities. Then she called me apologizing saying she was having mental issues. I told her I wanted no further contact with her and then reiterated I was refunding her money minus the design fee. Two months later she took me to small claims court. Not only did I win the case against her but the judge told her that legally, I could have kept her money because she was the one who had broken our contract. (He also said the piece was beautiful by the way). I have never had a single problem with any of the hundreds of people or businesses I have made artwork for, except this woman. I was brought up to be honest, work hard and always do your best. I have done that and I've been rewarded by making my living off of doing what I love.
