Great. Josh had the old one demo'd and hauled off in no time. There was a slight delay with material, but it didn't impact the delivery of the job. I would've like to have gotten started earlier in the summer, but it is an awesome, yet simple, built to code, place for us to relax.

Everything went great. I emailed Josh on Friday and he promptly responded and proceeded to communicate with me all weekend to figure out the best design for what she would want. He came out and had it done before I got home from work on Monday. Looks great. Thanks a bunch. Picture is with everything put back in its place. Check out his Web page for some pictures of his works.

Excellantly! The crew was out getting anticipated materials before getting to my place, and they arrived promptly at 8:00 am. They worked like machines, having all three doors roughed in before a late, short lunch break. They completed the installation by 6:00 pm, and paid close attention to all details. All the caulking was carefully done, all nail holes were filled in and all the garbage was picked up and hauled away. The doors look fantastic. If I knew about Renovations Unlimited, I would have done this year's ago. Needless to say, the young men arrived on time, worked hard, and were polite and courteous. The fee was less than I anticipated, and was completed in less time than other estimates. I will certainly hire them again.

Very well. Josh is a very good communicator. He is accurate and timely. He is responsive to phone calls and emails. He does a very good job and takes pride in what he is doing. He is very knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. He keeps a clean worksite and cleans up each day. He offered very good suggestions. His prices were competitive with other bids we received.

We hired Josh to remove a pony wall and relocate cabinets to create a peninsula in our kitchen/dining area. He also completed several projects that we hadn't gotten around to finishing, and they turned out even better than we had hoped. We were impressed by his can-do attitude and skills. For example, he didn't just hang the "barn door" style sliding door for the laundry room, but he also added a piece to extend the too-short door that I really wanted to use, and made sure it would operate smoothly by adding a spacer and recessing the screws on the back. He trimmed out a couple of interior doors and used a corner tool to make sure that the corners would turn out perfect (looks much better than the ones done by the "big box store" crew). He also did a beautiful job using neodymium magnets to fit panels into a custom desk, fashioning an angled flooring transition strip for an awkward space, and he even fixed the cat's broken scratching post with a leftover scrap of wood. Now everyone is happy! Josh genuinely seems to enjoy the challenge of figuring out solutions and has the skills and tools to follow through. He is efficient and personable, and we are looking forward to having him work on more projects in the future.

Contractor kept time commitments. Once the project started, the workers came every day and worked full days until the work was completed. All work was closely supervised. He had good ideas about getting the result that I wanted and was a good sport about making an adjustment that I requested mid-project. So far, the construction has held up well.

He is an amazing craftsman. He repaired part of our deck and added some railings. He was excellent and the only thing is that in his field they are really busy. He cleaned up after himself and he didn't leave any scraps everywhere. It was so nice when he was done. Our neighbor's tree fell on the deck and he came back to repair quite a bit of it. He was very accommodating and he came on the weekends. He repaired two segments of our fencing that got smashed down.

I originally contacted Josh in April 2013 requesting the work to be done. He stated he could do it as soon as he returned from vacation in May. When he returned, I was called away until June, so the project was on hold. When I returned I called Josh, stated I had returned, and when could he schedule the job. He replied "How about tomorrow". I was amazed at the quick response to our project since I figured I had dropped on the job's list. He went to the Depot, got the door, and was on schedule at my house by 0900, Jun 8. There were minor problems due to the house construction, but he handled them and adapted to the situation. The door was completed by 2 PM. I would hire Josh and his workers again. His pricing is fair and equal to other quoted contractors. His crew is neat and well mannered. The work area was well cleaned prior to departure.

Overall, the installation and all that we had Josh work on for us went well. I would be sure to ask him to save any installation books/instructions that are sent with products being installed. Other than that, he is very easy to work with, and is fair in his pricing. His work is beautiful. He is a master and takes much pride in his work. I would hire Josh again.
Description of Work: We hired Josh to install a new roof on our shed, install a new slider, and rebuild the front porch/deck. We also had Josh replace the front door and screen. Josh is meticulous in attention to detail. The roof on the shed turned out just perfect, with a nice overhang. The roofing material matches the roof we had installed on the house too. Josh installed the slider in a very short time, and insulated all around the door. We had finished the inside trim already and he installed that as well. ALL the corners match perfectly, and he had a perfect way to finish the trim around the rest of the slider door. Our front porch/deck is the best though. Josh rebuilt the deck from the ground up. Rather than reinstalling sono tubes and all that, Josh put in posts down to bedrock. He used trex for the decking runs, and all the spaces between the boards are even. He did a great job getting that all cleaned up and it is still just as beautiful as it was the first day. Josh also cleans up the work area very well, and will take away any debris from the job site.

Their design was accepted with no revisions. They were surprisingly diligent at obtaining a buidling permit quickly in spite of errors in the process outside of their control. They promised to finish the deck in two weeks and they did. There were no surprises or requests for more money than the original bid. I was pleased in every way and appreciated their professionalism, puntuality and quality. I love my deck and hot tub (!) and will use them for my next project.
Description of Work: I obtained 3 bids. The two lowest bids were very close. Renovations Unlimited was among the two low bids. My neighbor recommended Renovations Unlimited so I gave them the project. They were to build a large deck with two privacy walls and strong enough to hold a 4 person hot tub.

I own a house built in 1943 and over the years Josh has helped me totally renovate it. I was lucky to find him and am a little reluctant to rate him here because I will need him again in the spring. I continue to use him because he is honest, he values my time, and he enjoys his job; which is reflected in the quality of his work. I have recommending Josh to family who have used him and recommended him to others. Josh is my go to guy for anything construction related.
Description of Work: Complete home renovation, framing, stairs, flooring (wood, tile), sub-flooring, bathroom/ shower tiles, chinking log home, window replacement, complete kitchen remodel, bay windows, trim, crown molding, decks, shed, doors (interior, and exterior). There is probably more...I have been using Josh on all of my projects for years.

We chose three contractors from Angie's list and made three calls. One did not call back, one called but said it would be a while because he was busy. Josh called within a few days and came that day after work to do the estimate. Although he was involved in a large project, he made time for our small project by coming on a Sunday, working without his assistant. He was very efficient and completed the project before the day was over. Excellent job; our entrance looks fabulous now. Josh is very personable and professional, and explains things well. We will use him again. We really don't know how much things cost, but we think he gave us a good price.
Description of Work: We needed a new front door installed and a large sidelight window next to it, both of which we had already purchased. Because our measurements on the window were not quite right, some adjustments had to be made to the door frame.

When he came to do the quote, I explained to him what I wanted and that keeping costs low was as important to me as having something built to last. He was really patient with explaining all of my options, the pros and cons of each, and price differences. He was creative in coming up with my options and willing to customize things how I wanted, as long as they met code and were structurally sound. He answered all of my questions, even ones I know must have sounded stupid (like what's a piling and if you do a small concrete pad, can you make it a bigger concrete pad later when I have more money). Everywhere he could see to cut costs without reducing quality, he pointed it out. He got me the bid quickly and in the promised time frame. He said he could buy the lumber and I could pay him or, if I have a rewards credit card, I could use that to buy the lumber myself (hello, AK Air Miles!). Either way it was the same cost. He called in the order then I called in to pay and to arrange delivery. He started the project on time and worked very fast (he is very efficient). He built the whole thing in 2 days (after the concrete was dry -- preparing and installing the concrete was done in one morning but then we had to wait days for it to dry). Both he and his assistant were very courteous. He kept me informed of the progress and let me know what to expect at each step (like the need to keep the dog off the wet concrete!). He noticed that my gate sagged a lot and was difficult to open. He offered to fix it while he was there for very little money because it was a quick fix for him. My stairs are still holding strong a year later (just like new) and are exactly what I needed. I could not be more pleased with them. On my indoor projects, he was very clean. He took his boots off at the door, he used drop cloths and the like to minimize mess, and he leaves the area clean. That is SO refreshing. He has attention to detail and makes sure everything is done right, no matter how small. I showed him all the things I needed done, he got all the parts and things he needed, and did almost everything in one day (some things like the drywall mud and tile had to dry before he could finish them). Overall, he was very knowledgeable about materials, building codes, procedures for building and fixing things, and my options. He was very professional. Even though we had met socially before, he really put on his "contractor hat" and was in business mode when he came to do the quote and the work. I have since recommended him to others and one of my coworkers is a repeat customer who is also very pleased with him. Note: I will disclose that I am presently (Oct. 2012) dating the owner of this business. However, at the time I hired him to build my deck stairs, I was not and had only just met him. When I met him, I told him that I needed stairs built, that I had just gotten a quote from a leading deck company in town that had done my neighbor's deck, and asked him for a quote. He came in with a quote lower than the other company. After checking his references and looking at his portfolio of other work, I contracted him to do the work. I am receiving no compensation or other incentive for writing this review. I have only including in this review the projects that I have hired him to do and compensated him for, though all of the things he has done since as part of my "honey-do" list have been excellent! As much as I'd like to think he worked so hard just to impress me, I know from seeing his other work that he is just an excellent contractor.
Description of Work: I bought a house in 2011 that only provided back yard access from a downstairs bedroom. I hired this contractor to build stairs from the small porch off my upstairs living room down into the back yard so my dog could have access. I paid $1,925 for him to build my stairs and fix my gate (he noticed it was really loose and offered to fix it, too). I purchased my own lumber on my credit card so I could get Alaska Airline Miles. I also hired him to do a variety of small projects in my house a month or so after the stairs were built including: patching drywall (including adding texture), fixing shelves, some light fence repair, making it so some of my living room outlets didn't turn on and off from a light switch, installing a peephole in the front door, installing a handrail for the indoor stairs, installing a code garage door opener box, and installing a tile back splash behind the sink in one bathroom. I paid him hourly for these projects ($375 labor).

We could not find anyone relaible in Palmer/Wasilla so we contacted Josh at Renovations Unlimited. Josh gave us the option to save from his original quote if we shopped and purchased the lumber ourselves. It took some time to find the matching trex facia so we are glad we did that shopping ourselves (saving on labor rate) Part of the total charges were for driving the 100 mile RT to our home. Josh was very responsive and we feel his rate was reasonable/fair. He showed up on time did an Excellent job and was courteous and preofessional. The weather was horrid but he cheerfully worked in the rain and wind to get the job done and did it RIGHT! While we paid more for an Anchorage based contractor to come to Palmer, we feel it was money well spent to get quality workmanship. Renovations Unlimited is now #1 on our list of preferred contractors.
Description of Work: Needed to rebuild a portion of our deck due to some minor fire damage. The fire dept did more damage than the fire itself... This job included removing damaged wood, replacing end wrap, stabalizing railing and putting in new pickets.

Josh was an outstanding contractor and I would highly recommend him to anyone!! In fact I will likely hire him for more work later this summer. He was a true professional who provided honest work for a resonable price. Of particular note was Josh's discovery of the lack of supports to proceed with my original plan for shelving. Josh was quick to provide an alternate design which actually worked out better than the original plan! Great experience and highly recommended!

This young man has only been in business for about 3 years. He was working as a carpenter when my husband met him. We first hired him to install some new doors in our basement. We liked his work and talked to him about our back deck, which he repaired after finding a potentially dangerous neglecful situation apparently done by the original deck builder, after showing us the problem. We interviewed him further, saw previous work he had done, and spoke with former clients - all of which were very satisfied with his work. He began after we had wood floors installed. He renovation our foyer, removing paneling and replacing outside wall insulation, drywall and then taping, texturing and painting; along with installing a new front entry door and ceiling fan. He then did the remodeling of the kitchen, taking it down to the studs, to include laying a stone floor, installing new cabinets, new kitchen window and backsplash after countertop was installed. And, finally painting. A year later he completely remodeled our main bathroom - to include a new window, new door, and the installation of a pocket door to replace a cumbersome door on a large bath closet. I highly recommend this young man [Josh Heath] and will go back to his company for any other upgrades or remodels needed in my home.
Description of Work: Various interior upgrades in home to include new doors & installation; wall renovations, painting of interior of home, stone tile flooring, complete remodel of kitchen and bath; and upgrades on backyard deck. He is very personable and will work with the homeowner to make sure they are completely satisfied with the final product. He is able to give suggestions on various things, some of which I used in my remodels.
