This was the 2nd time they've come out in the last 8 wks (our machine is still under warranty) and I must say I was very happy with both visits. The first time we had their technician Ben come out. Ben was very patient, very professional, very courteous, and really took his time. Today I was able to get Ben again just by asking for him. Again he was courteous, professional, friendly and able to diagnose the problem and fix it within 5 min. He did test it and doesn't know why it did what it did but he fixed it! I can now do laundry again! I would highly recommend Reliable Appliance and if you can ask for Ben he's one of the best technicians I've ever had!!
Description of Work: My washer (which I do not like......you know, these new "energy efficient" ones) decided to lock the lid and I couldn't do any laundry.

Fixed noise in dryer on first visit (4/19/2017). Found problem with flow meter on washer. Had to order specialized part. Asked for receipt from technician and he said he would request one. Was supposed to be emailed and hadn't. Call and left voice mail one to two days later with no response on my request for receipt or even a return call. 2nd visit (4/28/2017). Installed special order part. Technician said it now worked. As the technician was about to leave, tested machine on normal wash and put in about 1 to 2 cups of water in the drum. Technician said it worked on the rinse cycle. He did another test and said I had to order another special order part (pressure switch) and demanded up front payment of the part. Washer was left in unusable condition.
Description of Work: Washing machine front loader - look at low water level. Dryer - noise when in operation.

It was through a Sears contract.The guys are nice, clean, normal, show up on time, do their job and leave. They were outstanding, they are good.

They fixed what I thot was broken and found other things that I couldn't see. When the tech returned a week later with new parts (that had been ordered) there was no charge for the service call. I've used Reliable before as they are now the Sear's service contractors. I have been very happy with all of my dealings.

The technician was prompt and professional. He completed the work in a reasonable amount of time and was able to resolve the problem. Our warranty coverage was included at the time of purchase from Sears. It was Sears who contracted this company to do the work which is why I did not have to pay at the time of service. I was pleased with the entire process.

I called for an appointment on Monday. There were no available time slots until Wednesday, and the associate did not give me an actual time slot over the phone. Rather, she said there would be a call on Tuesday evening letting me know of the time slot on Wednesday. I found this inconvenient, since normally I would need 24hrs to give notice when taking time off work. However I agreed. Tuesday, I did not receive the call. I am assured that it was made, but the company uses an automated robot and somehow I did not get the message. On Wednesday someone called at 9:45 and spoke with my relative (I was at work) to say they were 15 minutes away. 2 hours later, I called Reliable and after waiting for a good long while on the phone to speak to a supervisor, we determined there had been a miscommunication and that my time slot for that day was 4pm till 6pm. We had had plans for that evening, however I cancelled them and left work early to make sure I was home at 4pm. Yet no one showed up at my house during that slot. We ended up missing our evening activities for no good reason. At 7:45pm an automated robot called to announce that the technician was on his way. Using caller ID I managed to contact the technician and let him know that it was too late for a visit. In summary I would say that Reliable Appliance, from my experience, have proven themselves to be unreliable and failed to demonstrate the level of courtesy and respect I expect from a service provider. My own time constraints as a customer were not taken into account. I was given to choose a day but expected to accept any time slot during that day. Reliable said I was to blame for the miscommunication, which may or may not be true, but I feel that ultimately it was their responsibility to ensure that communication was achieved; and, ultimately, they failed to honor their own unilaterally imposed time slot to perform the services. The technician sounded like a very nice person, but he did not offer any explanation, nor apology, nor inquire whether there had been any inconvenience for me. I assume his previous repair was more difficult than expected, which is not his fault. He did offer to make another appointment, but at that point, going through another round of the same communication fiasco was not appealing. I blame the management at Reliable for failing to put in place procedures that would make me feel like my custom was valued and my own constraints respected. In an attempt to be helpful, my criteria for calling the experience positive and being wiling to work with the company again would have been the following: * Getting a choice of time slot when I called to make an appointment, instead of a previous day unilateral announcement * Being communicated with directly, by a person, rather than a robot, or at least given some warning that the call would be automated. Alternatively, being given a choice or communication medium (text, email, phone call) that best suits me. * When it became apparent that the appointment would be missed, getting a call from a supervisor or manager with an apology. My criteria for rating everything an "A" and ensuring my regular custom would have been the following: * Getting same day service * Getting the service on time * If unable to get the service on time, getting an acknowledgement of the inconvenience to me and a discount or other token perk to make up for it.
Description of Work: The provider failed to show up during the announced time slot, after using a confusing and unreliable automated phone robot to communicate. When the technician finally called, it was too late in the day to receive anyone and have noisy repairs going on.

My LG refrigerator died suddenly before Christmas - after calling around, I found that Reliable was one of the only repair shops in Anchorage that would service LG units. When I first called them, they were able to send a technician the same day. It turns out that the repair needed on my fridge was uneconomical and the repair technician called over to their shop to see if they had any similar refrigerators that would fit my budget range. He also suggested that I shop around too, so I wouldn't feel pressured to go with them, but wanted to let me know what my options were if I decided to go to their shop for a replacement. I did shop around and ended up going to Reliable's store location and found a great deal on a refurbished fridge. I scheduled the delivery and the delivery person really went the extra mile because my old unit was pretty big, and it ended up that he had to take it out via my upstairs deck and down some stairs, then through the snow covered yard instead of making a 90 degree turn down the inside stairway. He also brought in the refurbished fridge the same way and installed it. He discovered that the water valve inside was broken and took photos to send back to the office, since he was not able to make the repair for me on the spot. There was a bit of a problem with the website link that I received via email from the company but when I called, they scheduled the repair for me the next day. The repair technician called ahead to let me know he was running a little early and was able to fix the water valve in about 10-15 min. Overall I was impressed by my experience with the repair technicians, salesman and delivery person, and would highly recommend Reliable Appliance.

I requested a specific service man (Paul), however, they sent someone else to do the repairs. It ended up being a fuse and I helped hold things in place while he reassembled it and I noticed that something didn't look right. After he left, I started to do a load of laundry and the door dropped when I opened it because the springs were not attached properly. I ended up fixing the door issue myself. I also was told that I would receive my receipt via Email and I have yet to receive it. I did notify the office about the door and informed them that I had fixed it myself and was disappointed that they didn't offer me some kind of credit/refund. I also asked about my receipt that I never received. Paul has been servicing my appliances in the past and I've been very happy with his services, however, this other service man was a little disappointing... he was professional but felt he was a little inexperienced with the brand I had. Paul seems to be more knowledgeable when it comes to the types of appliances I have. I would consider using this company in the future if they guarantee they would send Paul.

After 13 service calls in 2 years (and 4-5 before that) for the same problem and replacing multiple parts, they said they couldn't fix it, therefore it must be operating correctly. Because the repairman reported that to the warranty service they will not do anything either. The issue is a dual burner feature (costs extra on the new stove) which can be used either as a large burner or a small burner. You turn the control one direction for the large burner and the other direction for the small burner. The small burner never operated correctly. It heats up and then cycles off, I have put a small pot with one cup of water in it on high and it would not boil in 30 minutes, though it did eventually get hot, but not enough to boil. (I have done this many many times with the same result, also demonstrated this to the repairman) The burner and thermostat were replaced several times, along with multiple visits when the incorrect part was received (fault of the manufacturer per the repairman),and one visit where he left the vent disconnected so stove or oven air was venting. The problem was never resolved and the repairman concluded that the burner was just not supposed to get hot, it must just be a "warm" burner. Pretty lame logic. I specifically purchased this model to have the option of the additional small burner which I would use much more frequently than the large. It is basically useless. They are the only authorized repair company for the warranty, so the warranter basically said I was out of luck because Reliable said the stove worked properly, Initially the repair person agreed it was not right, but since he couldn't fix it must be right after all. I wrote to both the owner of Reliable and the warranty company and got no response. My next step is to video the burner cycling on and off and go to the office to show the owner. Unfortunately I am one of the many homeowners with 80's construction that is stuck with JennAir downdraft stove because there is no alternative to venting. On top of that, I had to take a half day off work for each service call because they could only give a broad window the day before, and sometimes didn't even make it within that window.

After reading the ticket about your job I do see that it was confirmed by the manufacture that the Burners are working as normal. The right front burner does cycle which causes it to heat up and then cycle down. Also, the small burner is just a simmer burner therefore does not heat up to the temperature which you desire and I apologize about that. It worked fine and is still working but I just noticed that the control panel was not put back together properly. The back "hooks" were not put in the slots so the back of the control panel is raised about a half inch. You only notice it from the sides. Theo won't come back and fix his mistake unless I pay for a $72.00 service charge because the 30 day warranty period has passed.

Paul was on time and very professional. He did not seem to mind me watching me and asking questions. Knew the problem, fixed it then cleaned the inside of the dryer. The only concern I have is the $79 service charge. Have used company in the past and will in the future.

Reliable was dispatched for a warranty repair on a Whirlpool Refrigerator. Service times were changed twice and repairman did not call prior to call. Repairman dismantled the freezer compartment, stated he could not fix it. He failed to reattach the icemaker. His attitude was poor, like he couldn't be bothered. And there was no follow through on what steps should be taken next and reports were not forwarded in a timely manner to the warranty company

The service guys are friendly and professional but it took over six months with multiple visits to get my refrigerator fixed. Pretty much the same with my microwave. I can't remember how many months it took for the microwave oven door to finally come in. Having to take days off every other week to have appliances fixed is just not feasible.

We woke up on a Thursday morning to find everything in our refrigerator was warm and spoiled. We threw everything out and proceeded to move all the frozen foods to our extra storage freezer. Although the Kitchenaid's frig was not working, the freezer was still operating perfectly, but we didn't want to chance losing any more food. We looked up possible problems on the internet and followed instructions on making sure everything was clean under and around the base of the refrigerator, and even pulled off the back panel to make sure the condenser motor was clean. These were listed as the most common reasons for a refrigerator to quit working. After finding no problems we could solve on our own we did a re-set on the control panel to see if the frig would miraculously begin to function again. We let it run all night and woke to find it still not working on Friday morning. We called three appliance repair places, all sending our calls straight to answering machines, before dialing Reliable Appliance and getting an immediate answer on the first ring. Then gentleman that answered said they did in fact service our area and could most definitely see us that day. He transferred me to a lady that scheduled an approximate time for a serviceman to show up that afternoon. I was assured he would call before he arrived. And he did! I got a phone call from Steve, asking if I was available, and that he was 10 minutes away. He was on time, and figured out the problem in less than 10 minutes. Unfortunately, he did not have the needed part on his truck, and as it was Friday, we'd have to wait till Monday for the repair. We scheduled a time for Monday for Steve to return and we were given an estimate of costs on the spot. I was happy we would be seeing the same technician again, for continuity of care. Monday, right on time, we received a call from Steve, saying he was on his way to our home. He put the new motor in the frig and was done in less than 30 minutes. Our total cost was just under his quoted price, which made us happy and the refrigerator is working great! I would definitely recommend this company.

My refrigerator stopped cooling on late Friday and I contacted Reliable. No weekend service was available but they had enough capacity so I was their first call on Monday. The tech contacted me and we confirmed arrangements for him to access the property. He contacted me again when he was done and all was fine when I returned home.
Description of Work: Tech replaced a relay which controlled the compressor motor and that seemed to fix the problem.
