I've cut down and bucked up my fair share of trees, and I've watched quite a few professionals at work. However, I couldn't fail to be impressed with how well Paul and his assistant did their work. These trees were in heavy vegetation, with a neighbor's fence on one side, my house on another other, utility boxes behind and a yard full of planted trees and shrubs on the fourth. After placing pulleys and lines on the strongest of the adjacent trees, Paul dropped them in short lengths within a very narrow stretch of open ground. They carried away the logs without disturbing our landscaping and cleaned up all the debris in a couple of hours or less. He even took care not to disturb the blooming fireweeds that my wife had been concerned about. At my request, they also dumped their load of chips on my driveway. My family spread them for garden mulch in a couple more hours.

He was happy to answer questions and offer a bit of free advice about maintaining the tree I wanted to keep. We talked on the phone after the job, and I asked if he could throw in a truckload of wood chips for a landscaping project. He dropped them off a few days later free of charge.

It was great. If I could give an A + on the ratings, I would. Paul was very knowledgeable about disease and the health of the trees. He listened to what we were interested in and then guided us through the process. He explained a lot to us about the trees and helped us realize it would not be beneficial to cut down another tree that we were considering. We had great communication with him and he showed up on time and finished really quickly. He cut some wood for us to keep and cleaned up the mess completely. He also advised us on the care of the trees for the next few years. We will definitely use his company again, and would recommend him to anyone needing tree services. His fees were very fair also.

it went well. Paul was there at the time agreed on and removed the tree as agreed. He also cut a piece from the top of a birch tree next to the spruce as it was split. The spruce tree was about 70' tall and had a diameter of about 18". He left the wood and took all of the branches and junk. Paul was very professional and a pleasant man to deal with. The stump grinder was there the same day and completed the job as I had wished. also the discount was provided. very pleased

Paul was very quick to respond to our phone call and came within a day or two for an estimate. We had many questions regarding which trees should be removed, and he answered each question, sharing valuable information with us regarding the care for the trees. He gave us dates he was available and we scheduled the time for the trees to be removed. Paul showed up on time, was very professional and had the trees down before we could finish our breakfast. He asked us to give advice on the ones being pruned, as to how much we wanted off, and was done in under 4 hours. He cleaned up all the fallen branches, and even raked and used a leaf blower to clean up. Even though we have a garden and lots of plants in our backyard ... he was able to fell the 3 trees without injuring a single plant! We would highly recommend Paul's Tree Service to anyone looking for tree removal or pruning.

Paul called on the scheduled day to say he will be heading to our place. We were out so told him to go ahead. When we did arrive home Paul was finishing up. The tree was down with no damage to surrounding items and all debris was cleaned up and in his truck. This is the second time we hired Paul. The first time was to chip and haul off some pruned branches.

It was on my list to call a tree service to take care of a suspected decaying tree that could have fallen on the neighbor's deck and I knew I was going to include Paul on my list for estimates. I originally met Paul at the 2014 Anchorage Remodeling Show and found him to be very personable and knowledgeable. On the afternoon that I got to that part of my to-do list I looked out my front window and "Paul's Tree Service" was parked at another neighbor's house. We watched and waited for Paul to come back out to his truck and before we had a chance to ask if he had time for an estimate, he said he'd be right over (like this happens to him all the time). He surveyed the questionable tree, confirmed that it did need to come down, and then checked a few others just to let us know we had no other problem trees. We were flexible on when this could be done so Paul just called the day before we would be on the schedule then called again 15 minutes before he arrived. His original estimate was a couple of hours to do the job but it went so smoothly he was completely done and gone in less than an hour! But for the pile of wood left behind, you could hardly tell he was here. He removed all the branches, bucked the tree into firewood for us, scooped up all the sawdust, and raked up the stray leaves. On top of all that I asked for a few pieces to be cut into a different lengths for a landscaping project I have in mind and he not only cut them but stacked them away from the rest of the firewood for me. Overall I could not be more impressed with the work done. The price was extremely fair (no way would I climb a decaying tree with a chainsaw hanging from my belt!) and the work was done as quoted (plus my special request). Usually I would have called for at least three estimates and checked Angie's List for reviews but I strongly felt that Paul was not only the best deal but the real deal. I trusted that he was giving me a fair price and that the work would be done as he promised...so I honestly wasn't surprised when I came to Angie's List today to write this review and saw his stellar score from other reviewers. I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him to anyone needing tree service!

He single handedly took down several large trees in our front yard. He was extremely skilled, professional, punctual, and cost-friendly. He gave us advice and even went above the scope of work to help us out. Awesome work! Totally recommend!

Paul was actually here a little early. Since the trees were located beyond my fenced back yard, he carefully located his truck and equipment on my neighbor's yard, with permission, and with minimal impact on the lawn. He knew exactly what he was doing. I sat dumbfounded, watching him climb the trees, delimb them, then proceed to cut down the trunks. It's obvious he loves what he does. It was a delight to watch him work - one of my neighbors hired him on the spot to do some work. Paul is not only a craftsman, but a truly nice guy. I recommend him highly.

Arrived at agreed time. Performed the somewhat ad hoc work very efficiently. Provided opinion as to what best to do when asked. Cleaned up the job site so that it was in better shape than when he started. Work performed efficiently and pleasantly. Had used his services several years ago.

It went great. Paul was very easy to work with. He showed up at the time scheduled and got to work. We had to coordinate the work with two of our neighbors since he needed access to their yards as well. Paul discussed what he needed from them after he arrived and was able to get the job done without impacting their routines. In fact he also provided pruning services for one of the neighbors when they asked him if it would be possible. We changed our mind after he arrived and cancelled the removal of two trees we had originally wanted removed. He was very accommodating with the request. We plan to use Paul's tree service again next year for more pruning and clearing.

I had contacted three tree services for estimates to remove a fallen tree from my yard. I had already gotten one estimate of $125 when Paul's Tree Service showed up, chipper in tow. He looked at the tree and said he could do it on the spot for $50. Of course, I went for that. (I recognize that the other vendor, with the higher estimate, had already driven to my home and would still have to send someone out on another day to do the work, so his expenses would have been higher.) I had errands to run. He said I could just mail him a check for $50, and I was pleased that he trusted me, rather than insisting on taking my credit card information. When I returned home, the tree was gone, and he had cleaned up the mess. Later he called me to say, "You won the tree lottery. The root was so loose that I was able to pull it out rather easily, so now you won't have to get the stump ground." He didn't charge me any extra for that, so, all in all, I was extremely pleased with the outcome. He was pleasant and polite, and I would definitely recommend Paul's Tree Service to others.

Paul was amazing to work with. He was responsive, professional and fast! As a "one man show" both our neighbors who watched him work and ourselves were amazed at how quickly and efficiently he got rid of our large trees. Paul offered the best quote for the job, called to set up the time as he said he would and then came over and did the work as promised. He left the area clean with no leaves, branches, etc., lying around. I would highly recommend that anyone looking for tree services look no further than Paul's Tree Service!
