We have used this business before, and had a great experience. They were used prior to moving into the residence, so there was no furniture to move or care for. We used them last year in the same residence to repaint the walls and ceilings in preparation for resale. While the work on the walls and ceilings was good, they were very careless with our furniture. An antique cabinet, dining table, chairs and some other items were covered in paint spatters. An upholstered piece of furniture (loveseat) had a large smear of paint on it which we didn't discover until after they finished the job because it was white paint on white textured upholstery. The floors also had paint splatters in several locations. My husband and I really like the owner of this business. He is so nice, and we feel he is very honest. We don't know if he was too busy and so had crews that were rushing or what, but the paint messes on the furniture was too much, especially considering the price we paid. Although we moved out of Anchorage, we would not use this business again because of the damage to our personal items, and I hope this review will provoke him to have his crews be more careful in the future.

Hugo was extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire process. Not only did he give us the best price out of multiple quotes (by hundreds of dollars), he also worked with us in a time crunch and under poor weather circumstances. The paint job was excellent and his employees were friendly as well as skilled and professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to paint their house. No complaints at all. He even stopped by the next day to inspect the job and confirm that everything was finished and the paint had dried appropriately. Don't waste your time getting other quotes, he's the best and I've talked to other people who have used him and they confirmed he gave them the lowest quote as well.

Very pleased with the job performed. My house had years of ugly, peeling, old stain and the crew did an excellent job of removing all of it right down to the bare wood. There was a challenge with some of the paint bubbling in a couple spots due to the primer not drying quite enough, and they remedied that right away. Hugo was responsive and aimed to please. This is the third time we've hired Hugo and again he did a great job. His lead painters are exceptionally well skilled at their trade. We also recognized several crew members that he'd used on another house that we had painted last year, showing that he's able to keep skilled workers. Hugo was highly responsive to our needs, working to make sure everything was painted exactly how we wanted. His crew pressure sprayed, sanded where needed (the deck needed a lot of sanding), hammered in popped nails, and put on at least two coats (more where required). Hugo worked with us to select paint and stains that would cover well and last. We also asked Hugo to check for any deterioration or damage on the siding, gutters, trim, etc. He personally inspected the work regularly while his crew worked and checked with us each time. Hugo's invoice was exactly what he'd bid. He watched the weather carefully to make sure the house was dry when painted. We can recommend him with no reservations. He's very good.

Very professional, timely, courteous, nicest people you want to work with. Very timely. I will post some picture to show you the results. But I only gave quality as B+ is because I found an overspray spot at garage door frame, and several spots inside the house that should be sanded , textured before painting. But for so many contractors out their, I will use Math again, and have been using his painting service for 5 years. it is worth noticing they did unbelievable job on the wooden fencing in photo 1. He used Shawn and Williams fending detergent to wash and power wash the fence, and restrain it. it looks renewed again. He also power washed the house in detail before staining, I saw so much dirt coming off. The details and procedure matters.

very responsive from initial quote to work performed. not delayed during busy season even with many rainy days leading up to my appointment. workers even removed a new wasp nest. nothing stopped the crew from finishing the job, and it was well done and well worth the money. I plan on using them for my interior next year.

Hugo Mathey spec'd the job and listened attentively to our details about what we wanted done and what we wanted to avoid. We also discovered some wood that would need replacement on that inspection. He apparently communicated all this to his crew, but also dropped by each day to make sure things were going well. On the first day, two men pressure washed the house. Next day a team of four or five carefully masked everything we didn't want painted. They also sanded rough wood and loose paint. They removed corner trim by one window, sanded down to bare wood, built it back up and replaced the trim with new boards. On the second and third days they sprayed the majority of the house, and on the fourth day finished with the trim, decks, and clean-up. Overall, we feel that Math-A Service was more attentive to details than any other painters we've ever used. We are very likely to use them again and can recommend them without any reservations.

We chose Hugo first because of his reputation and professional approach. He expertly estimated repairs, prep work and paint for the entire home. Hugo and his team were polite, trustworthy and very hard working. They worked long hours, were punctual and very skilled. Our gardens were protected and the end result is better than we had hoped.

My husband and I were quite impressed w/ Hugo's team. Hugo did excellent work refinishing my deck. He finished the job quickly without skimping on the prep work. Very thorough, and gave me excellent advice on maintaining the surface to last longer. I would hire him again in a minute.

I found Math-A here on Angie's List last year and had them bid out two jobs for me in the fall with the plan to paint both my 4-Plex and my home this summer. This review is for my home which is the second of the two, as I earlier reviewed the apartment building - both were exceptional! For context, our home is three stories high, and about 2,600 sq. ft., plus the work also included two decks. I specifically include this, because there was a great deal of work performed on some pretty tall ladders. The crew stared a day earlier than scheduled after calling to see if they could come sooner to get going. The first day was a two man crew whom pressure washed the entire home. After they were done, they cleaned up the entire area, swept all of the decks, and apart from the hose looking pretty rough from the old paint being blasted off, the place was pristine. The following day a larger crew, five or six, came and power sanded the entire home. By the time they were done that evening there was almost nothing but bare wood. Again, the crew cleaned up all of the mess, stacked up all of their gear, out of the way, in our back yard. The next work day, again with a large crew, they sanded, scrapped and caulked. At this point our home was pretty much sans any paint at all in most areas. I should note, that our home was in desperate need of a good paint job, so I was not surprised at how bare it was, after all of their prep work. I would also like to mention that we had the home painted just four years prior, and that work was bad from the get go, but the contractor was not responsive in making the work good. He certainly didn't do any thing close to the preparation work that Math-A was doing. The next phase was the primer coats. Being our house was basically raw wood everywhere after all of the sanding and scrapping, the essentially they primer coated the entire home. Finally we were ready for the actual painting, and like every day before , the crew did an excellent job, and at the end of every day, the place was spotless and all of their ladders, and gear were neatly stacked up out of the way. I think it was two or two and a half days of actual painting to the final product, and our home looks like a brand new home, and we have a paint job that I can tell will last for many, many years. I would also like to comment on the professionalism and friendliness of the crew. The entire experience was one of the best I have had with a contractor.
