Dave and his son put in the flooring well. The work was complex though the bathroom was not particularly large by modern-home master bath standards. When a small plumbing issue surfaced, they competently and quickly handled it. However, their clean up was less than perfect and they left stains on carpeting from I know not what, but I presume from some material associated with the job. (Had the carpet been in good shape this would have been a big issue.) Also, there was sometimes vocal father-son friction. I could recommend them for outdoor work, but not for indoor.

It took a little time for us to get together for est. But when it came to performing the work I had a lot of imperfection to over come but the work was excellent. Dave gave me a quote off the top of his head said it would be high end (over).Insure he went over but he only charged me what he quote.

It went great. The guys started the project a few days after I called. They had pulled up the flooring and had fans going the first day, second day had the new flooring down very quickly and the roof repair done. And Dave still had time to do a few other small projects while he was here, including a door repair, and a countertop seam repair. His attention to detail and knowledge was very impressive!
Description of Work: I called Jensen Construction because our dining room flooring had a big bubble underneath. We discovered that it was because rain water was leaking under our roof, running down the exterior wall and was soaking our subfloor.

Called day prior, came assessed and did work in one day. Came and fixed a sagging access gate. Did perfect work, Price was ok. They did replace broken or damaged boards and installed new hinges.
We contacted Dave and he came over within a day to see what we needed. He provided a good estimate of cost and a rough idea of when he could start. When he started I felt our job had his full attention. He broke the jobs up into segments that allowed for minimal disruption. Dave and his son have great eyes for detail and took the time to get things right. Excellent fit and finish, even matched a popcorn ceiling texture.
Description of Work: We had a list of miscellaneous indoor and outdoor projects. Two garage walls to be rebuilt, two windows and a door replaced, a new window installed, a bedroom closet built, a corner fireplace taken out, etc.

Mr. Jensen and his son, both of them named Dave I believe, did meticulous and thorough work. I should mention that my home was originally owner built (not by me) and that most of the work they did was on previous construction that was rather, shall we say, unorthodox. They rose to every occasion. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail. For example, in creating the passthrough entry between the hallway and the library, they carefully fitted left over vinyl I had in a roll to match the vinyl in the hallway in such a way that it is impossible to tell where the old flooring ends and the new section begins. He also put flashing in above the new front door to direct water from the roof away from the door, which I hadn't thought of, and, in using my bathroom, he was dissatisfied with my bathroom door (which was, indeed, hanging at an angle) so he fixed it just because it didn't really look or work right and it bothered him. Generally speaking, the work these two did looks much better than the parts of the house that were not on my list of things to fix. The best part was that they carefully cleaned up after themselves, something which, in my experience, is not particularly common among contractors. The result is that I have doors that fit, lock, and move the way they are supposed to, and stairs that aren't dangerous, which is a new and wonderful feeling, and they look good too. And, in the end, what he charged me, even considering going out of his way to add pleasing details to the job, was less than his estimate by several hundred dollars; again, not typical in my experience. They always arrived when they said they were going to, did their job, and cleaned up after. I would not hesitate to recommend these folks to anybody, and I've already talked to Dave about the next things I need done. The one thing to remember is that this business apparently consists of exactly two workers. They are in demand. Also, if they encounter personal emergencies, their schedules are adversely affected. I was in no tearing hurry to get the job done. I just wanted it done right, which is what I got. While they were on the job, they worked consistently and didn't horse around. However, they could not give me an exact date as to when they could start, and it took several months from the time he gave the the estimate until he could get to my work. He did tell me up front that it would take a while to get to me, and he kept in touch with me about where he was at with his backlog of work. The results were worth the wait.
Description of Work: I had several small jobs that had been put off for way too long. I asked him to 1) Replace the front door and door frame on my home. The existing door and frame were badly compromised and barely functional. This was complicated by the fact that the door is a very odd size. 2) Rehang and reframe the side door and add a deadbolt lock, 3) Replace the back door and frame with a door and frame I already had, which needed to be cut down, 4) Move an interior doorway between a hallway and the library to one side about two feet, remove the door and create a passthrough, which involved moving three electrical switches and their wires, 5) Enclose the top of the stairs to the basement and put in an interior door at the top of the stairs, 6) Put a railing on the front porch and steps, and 7) Replace the stairs to the back porch / deck and put an extended landing or deck at the bottom of the stairs.

Dave and his son arrived when they said they would. They worked quickly and the results were lovely. Dave also was generous with his knowledge of construction and gave us tips about D.I.Y projects we were working on and that we have planned. The amount he charged us was fair and well worth the cost. We hope to use Jensen Construction for future renovation projects.

Fit and finish of all carpentry was excellent. Dave is precise and has a good eye. He worked in inclement weather and completed the job on time. His rates were reasonable. We fully intend to request Dave for additional remodel work.
Description of Work: Dave helped us pick out windows that fit our requirements, he shopped at several stores, found best price and quality and we were very happy with his choice. He removed old single-pane windows and replaced with new ones. He did inside and outside trim. He made the sills wider at our request. Dave also put in a stair railing for us on a challenging set of stairs. He also did maple trim along the stairs that came out very well.

Dave and his helpers did an excellent job.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 bathroom medicine chests with mirrors. Install mirror on small rock wall above fireplace. Adjust bathroom fan to lowest sensor settings. Secure dining room fans to ceiling. Put new latch catches on entry doors. Install vinyl room wedges on 4 doors to get a good seal. Hauled old cabinets away.
The quality of the work met and exceeded our expectations. I was impressed with the attention to detail and the quality of work. They were quick, tidy, yet very miticulous. I feel like we got good value for the work completed. Dave and his son were knowledgeable and helpful in regard to other projects we were looking to complete this year. There were some items that went over our budget but that was because of issues that were discovered going thru construction. That is expected with any job. I would use them again in the future, they were a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Replace 8 windows, had to make openings wider for egress size openings for all the bedrooms, remove and replace1 sliding glass door, 1 exterior door, rebuild front porch along with deck and stairs in the garage. Removed and replaced all window and base trim and caulked. Replaced Bay window sill, trim and insulated where none existed before.
The quality of the work met and exceeded my expectations. I've had other remodel work done in the past and there always seems to be a few things that you wish the contractor would have done differently, but there were none in this case. I was especially impressed with the trim work and the attention to detail. There were a few items that went over budget because of changes that I wanted and that wasn't communicated to me until I received the final bill, but overall I feel like I got a good value for the work completed. Dave was very knowledgeable and helpful in regards to other projects I had going on around the house.
Description of Work: Replaced 8 windows, 1 sliding glass door, and 2 exterior doors. Removed and replaced all original door, window, and base trim. Remodeled 5x8 half bathroom, removed original floor and recommended tile guy who did excellent work, installed new vanity, mirror, toilet, shelving, and light fixture. Patched/repaired and re-textured drywall in a few spots and completed other small projects as needed.
?Dave provided an estimate of repairs in a timely manner. In his estimate the labor and materials were separate items. ?He worked around my schedule which delayed the project some. He was good about contacting me so that I knew he hadn't forgotten and hadn't scheduled someone else in my spot. ?Dave is meticulous and very detail oriented. He repaired many minor issues after consulting with me. ?He and his son cleaned up after the project. ?The cost of the total job was very reasonable. ?When he was delayed on getting to the job, he called to let me know when he would be arriving. ?The job was finished in a timely manner.
Description of Work: •Repaired a dry rot situation removed damaged beams replaced with treated beams drywall over holes and taping •Adjusted doors so they opened and closed smoothly •Caulked perimeter of deck •Installed a sink •Repaired deck railing that was floppy

The job had some issues that came up due to the flat torch down roof on garage outer drip edge area. There were spots that had leaks that water had gotten under the roofing material and traveled to an area over the door inside the home that leads from the garage. It had been slowly leaking for some time, rotting out the sheeting, studs ,and beam over door. I removed the old tar bead that had been put along the outer edge and put super sticky and flexible product called "Flexable seal" which is gunnable out of a caulking gun at -30 to 200 degrees, it is the best stuff I have found out there. Just for good measures I used pressure treaded lumber to repair the area. She had other small fix its and we took care of a lot of detail problems along with deck rail post that were very wobbly. I and happy that she was thrilled that the repairs were done right and should not have any problems in the future.

The job went smoothly and the results are excellent. Dave spent time troubleshooting the leveling issue with my husband and knew exactly what to do to increase the stabilization issues in our home. Other experience with contractors has not been good in even determining the appropriate course of action to take. Dave understood the structural support issue immediately and was quick to identify and recommend a reasonable solution. He installed a 12 foot beam under the sagging joist area in the crawl space. He used pier blocks with adjustable bases. We continue to see floor leveling improvements with the settling of the home due to the extra support beam with no damage to existing floor materials above. It has also greatly improved the stability of our multi-level home. His crew was excellent also and the work was completed very timely and at a reasonable cost. I plan to hire him in the future for other large house projects. The actual work performed came in under the estimate he provided. Thank you Dave and son!

thank you for the review, it seems the more reviews I get the less amount of customers take the time to give one, probably due to the fact that they may think I do not need anymore since I am up to 96. I always look forward to my customers to spend a minute or two to write up a review about their experience with my company, Jensen construction, keep them coming, thanks
As always they were a joy to deal with, fast, and their work was flawless. As always their estimates were far below what I expected, or what others asked. And of course they saw a few things around the house in working that they just fixed on their own. I cannot begin to say how much I have come to value their work and our working relationship. These two are simply the best.
Description of Work: Dave and Dave performed a bathroom renovation, including custom vanity and countertop, backsplash, new sink, toilet, mirror/cabinet, lighting fixtures, towel racks, toilet paper holder, hooks, etc. They also touched up sheetrock, grout, caulk, and painted. They did the full range of services themselves - carpentry, electrical, light plumbing, rock, paint.

We had a good experience with Dave and Jensen Construction and would definitely recommend him. We spoke with several other contractors to get this work done and Dave was the most reliable by far. Dave gave us a written description of the work that would be done with cost estimates for materials and labor. The estimate noted certain contingencies so we would be aware of what might increase the cost (ex. unexpected site conditions). He also answered our questions and explained what he intended to do in detail so we could understand the work involved and feel confident that it would be done correctly. Dave's work looks good and it seems like it will hold up well. The fence and the damp proofing have only been through part of a winter so far, but so far-so good. Would definitely recommend giving Dave a call.
Description of Work: Jensen Construction did the following for us: 1) Demolished and replaced a portion of a 6' wooden fence (approximately 120' and two doors); 2) Dug out three sides of the foundation, removed and replaced the damp proofing, insulated the dug-out portion of the foundation, covered the insulation with a metal flashing, and sealed the flashing; and 3) Adjusted decking to level it out after some of the posts had heaved

thank you for the positive review, always nice to read that my customers are happy with the jobs I complete for them. I try to explain verbally and write out in the quote, the details of how and what materials are to be used to do the job, also the reasons why particular materials have to be used, eg: durability ect. we had to get under a front deck and back deck, that were close to ground level, remove some short posts and jack up numerous areas. Also added a few framing straps to some that did not have any, which could be a problem during an earthquake. It was a pretty quick and easy fix.
It went fairly smoothly; I was hoping to have the job done in three days as first estimated, but it took five, and then the extra items of the garage roof and attic work took a few more days. They took over my garage, and my car had to be outside for over a week. Cleanup was pretty good, although one day they forgot totally to clean up one room (the bathroom - one that had to be able to be used, of course!) Mr. Jensen seems to be very detail oriented, and I appreciated that. I would definitely hire him for any other home repair or remodeling job.
Description of Work: Replaced 7 wood windows with vinyl windows, beefed up the insulation above and below a bay window that was not replaced, replaced soffitt and installed new venting around most of the house, stained the soffitt to match house color, repaired bathroom fan flap, inspected flat garage roof for leaks, inspected attic insulation - subbed out the roof repair, attic fan installation, and increased insulation work (did the final inspection before billing for it).

Remodeling, sometimes takes longer that thought. Running into issues that are not always seen, then dealing with them, I call them surprises. This job did not have many, buy the guy that put the windows in before had hand nailed the outside trim and frames with long galvanized nails every 4 inches, surprise! Just have to laugh, it was actually a fun job and the lady was very nice. We made sure everything was done to her satisfaction. The heat bill should go down quite a bit in, this old house..

I contacted Dave in late July regarding replacing our exterior stairs and staining our wrap around deck after another contractor we had agreed to hire failed to do the job. Although Dave was already booked for the summer and early fall he agreed to give us an estimate and see what he could do. He gave us a quote on repairing the stairs but was unable to stain the deck that late in the season given his prior work commitments. He gave us the name of another contractor he worked with that was willing to give us a quote on the deck. Dave did a great job of communicating with us and keeping us informed as to when he could be expected to do the work. His quote was very reasonable and although he encountered some rot problems on the deck, he and his crew put in the extra time and effort to address the additional work at a very reasonable additional charge. Also, the person he recommended to stain our deck did an excellent job at a reasonable price.

we pride ourselves in quality work and angies list customers seem to agree. Some jobs, like a lot or remodels are full of hidden surprizes. This one had more rotten wood than expected, but we just had to replace some more material to get it right. My price on materials went up a bit and I stuck to the same bid price as quoted for labor. Most of the time I supply the customer with receipts for materials, so I don't have to mark up anything, or pad my bid if we end up little short on some items. People seem to like the fact, that they pay for what is needed for all materials, no more.
