We remodeled her up bath and basement bath with new cabinets, tops, flooring, jetted tub upstairs, shower pan downstairs, after removing tub, turned the sauna into walk- in closet, sheetrock work, mud, tape , texture, paint, new bath fan, tub surround, tile on shower walls, new sinks , faucets, drains, shut off valves. These folks were a joy to work with and we saved them a lot of money verses the big bath remodel contractors. We will be doing more work on the house in the future.

This deck or decks turned out really cool. We built a deck approx. 10 feet off the ground coming off a mst bedroom ext door, also a deck approx. 6 feet off the ground coming off a dining room slider door. The taller deck was built stronger on the south end so a hot tub can be set on it, the two decks have a stairway from the top deck to the lower deck, also a parallel stairway to the back yard. We installed trex rain escapes between the joists, that channel all the water that comes through the deck to the outside edge of the deck giving dry area under the entire area, including the stairway from the upper and lower decks. I went back to the job a few weeks later to talk to the customer and he had asphalt paving under all of it installed, which gave him a whole other dry patio at ground level 12 ft x 32 ft long. thanks for the review and the opportunity do build your decks the way you wanted it to be, happy to hear that it turned out better that expected.

a positive review is always nice and better late than never. This job was a normal standard fence job with a few custom touches on the gate walkway area. I did this job two years ago. a lot of customers have been calling me all summer. unfortunately for some they want there job done right away, and I am always booked up 2 months out in the summer. Winter is coming and I am almost to the point that any work needed to be done before the ground freezes I can't get in my schedule. Work that requires to be done outside in the winter does not bother me much, just the froze ground that stops it. so call early for any work, since I am busy year round

I don't remember talking to this potential customer. He may be talking about another Jensen company. I try my hardest to respond to every customer, weather I can do the job or not. I often refer customers to other contractors that have the time on their schedule, since I am always booked out 2 months it seems. I always tell people, when they call how far out I am. From there, I can come look at a job, bid the job, then put the job on my schedule, if they agree to the amount of time to wait. I keep all of my "look" lists, and just went over the last five months, and could not find this customer to call back at all, who knows may have deleted a voice mail by accident, perhaps they did not call the correct #. Perhaps they should have called me again to get back to my company. Don't think I deserve my first "f" out of 82 reviews for someone I never even talked to.

Description of Work: i had a severe water damages or flood from 25 breaks from frozen and thawed pipes in one of my rental houses in December 2012. when i needed his expertise to put the house back together, Dave was on time at initial estimates, and contacted the insurance adjustor timely. he also directly helped me e-file the claims. In addition, once it come to his turn to repairs the house, he started timely. his work included repaired bath room shower surrounds, replaced faucets, toilets, and floor, sub-flooring, sheetrocked the ceilings, walls, and painted ceiling, walls, installed entry door, and repaired sum pump. he even repaired the garage door by cutting the bottom to fit the uneven concrete floor at closing to such a perfection, that his carpentry skill is unparalleled . during the cause of repairs, we had to modify the repairs as we go, but he did not jack up the price unlike many others would do. it tell you his honesty. thank you.

thank you for the positive reveiw. It is nice to get work from previous customers.There was alot of damage to this home, but we just went at repairs one at a time. I'm happy with how it all turned out. I realized this place needed to be renter ready when we were finished, so i did not mind fixing other details that needed to be adressed so you didn't have to deal with them after we were done. This job needed to be done in a timley fashon due to lost rent money, I had some other jobs that were on my schedule but my other customers were very understanding, that your job needed to be finished quickly,so we were able to do so. I also got some extra help to speed it along, then get back to the other jobs on my list. thanks again and I'm sure I will be talking to you soon for more upcoming remodel projects you have planned that we discussed.

Not so good.
Description of Work: We called Mr. Jensen and he told us that he was busy and could not get to a job until mid June. This was good for us and asked him to come and give us an estimate for our deck. Scheduled twice he did not show, he called and wanted to come late evening on another day, but we had already scheduled with another builder and had the deck in by the third attempt for an estimate by Mr. Jensen.

It has been very busy for me this summer, I tried calling these folks several times also, to set a time to look at the job. I did not get an answer back and left messages for them to call me back.Our schedules just could not connect and I apologize for that. An overwhelming amount customers that have been calling me since the begining of summer for jobs. I have been honest with them and let them know, that at this time I am booked up till july, then it was aug, now it is mid september at this point. I am up front with that and am happy to bid any job, if the customer is willing to wait that long. I will at times give them a referance to some other company I know that can do the job for them.It has been difficult to meet people with so many calls I have been recieving. I have stated in a previous reponse that my company is just my son and I. I have hired someone to help us part time, but I don't want to get big. I am into perfection completing a job and am there everyday on it. If I were to grow and drive around all day just doing bids, having other people do me jobs the quality would go down, so I can only do what I can do.Thanks for calling anyway, sincerly Dave Jensen owner of Jensen const.

Thank you for having us do more work for you, I enjoy dealing with you on these projects. The fence is very strong now, it is a bit more difficult to piece back together a fence that has blown down, using the sections that where down, without rebuiding it. It is cost effective if the wood is in good shape. This fence was built in an area that gets 80 mph winds, south muldoon. The person that built it had placed the posts 10 feet apart, and I was told has blown down before. We placed posts in these areas of repair at appox 6 to 7 feet apart, Then cutting in the sections of fencing to slide into the new post areas, plus using metal 2x4 brackets with screws to hold strong, thus a couple cuts were not so tight. I reccomend also that when a fence is built, instead of just nailing the cedar boards to the top and bottom 2x4s only, nail the boards to the 4x4 as well, which ties the entire area 2x4s 4x4 and fence boards all together,that alone makes a huge differance in windy areas. That is what we did on this fence and on areas that where not blown down. I look forward to replacing your kitchen cabinets this winter that we talked about after I finish this job. Description of Work: Called Dave Jensen for an estimate. We set up an appointment to meet after the weekend which he never showed for and didn't call till after 6pm that evening. When he came by the next morning for an estimate he called before coming and was early. Dave took measurements and listened to what we needed. He and his son are a 2 man crew. His son however gave me a creepy feeling letting him into my house. As a female I want to feel safe with people I invite in. His son wasn't paying attention to our conversation about the work and was pacing my bedroom looking at all my stuff! It felt like he was casing my house. I did not want to hire them and wanted them out of my house.

sorry you where dissapointed with our 10 minute visit. i apologize about not making the initial appointment. we where to meet on mon after the weekend, yes. i did not realize it was presidents day, that mon before the weekend.did not have my work ledger, and spent the day out if town continuing a weeked trip, therefore did not have your # til i got back at 6:00. well as far as being 5 minutes early, well,didn't feel that would be a problem.I am somewhat insulted by your comments about my son. he is 31 yrs old, worked with me since he was 18 yrs, has a wife ,7 mo old baby girl 3/12 yr old boy and is a honest man. i spoke to him about your comments, they hurt his feelings, due to the fact you judged him by seeing him for 10 minutes. he did say that there was no room for him, your husband, and i, to view the job to be bid, a bathroom measuring 4ft x 51/2 ft with a rotten floor we could not step on. Thus all of us stood there poking our heads in the doorway. I do not recall talking to you or seeing you,other that glimpses of you at the end of the hall that is around the corner,dont recall you being part of the conversation about the job. perhaps that is what made you feel uncomfortable about him, i do not know. I hope you found some company to you likeing. good luck with that. i have been doing carpentry work for 35 yrs, and am always busy for one reason, quality work at a good price and i like working with customers who appreciate my work. I have been lic boned ins in anchorage since 1984, never advertised, due to no need. word of mouth and years worth of contracts with custom home builders here covered all the work i could handle, i still have some contracts with some, but the economy slowed the residential building down to a crawl. angies list has been a great tool to have folks take advantage of a 2 man crew that has pride and is proud of our work at all aspects of carpentry and home remodeling. i dont hire a bunch of kids to do my work, it would not be good, better to stay small and do the best job possible, i have my name on it. i hope most people see though your negative comments, since your the first, and look at many positive reviews i get, also many return custumers i enjoy working with over the years.
