Great professional crew, great final product

They came, they did it and they cleaned up after themselves. This is the second time I have used them. They are not the cheapest outfit in town, but you can trust them. They are well worth the bit extra you will pay because of the top quality materials they use. It is great to have the peace of mind that you are actually getting what you are paying for.

They were fast and efficient. They were just quick as they can be. I appreciated that very much. They were very professional. They came in here, did their work and they were gone. I live in a little duplex and it side by side with little houses which has a common wall. I try to encourage the person next to me to do her roof too because it was cheaper. It would have safe us a couple of thousand bucks but she does not cooperate. The general contractor's name is Larry McDane and I was very impressed.

In June I met with the estimator at my home and we talked about the issues I was having with my roof. He told me what he thought should be done and how they would do the work. I got the quote from Holland roofing, dated 6/29/2012, in the US mail, the second week in July. I called their office on 19 July to clarify the quote details. Holland's staff assured me that the quote was correct and the details were in the estimator notes. I then asked when they could start and I was told the last week in July or the first week in August. I returned the signed quote several times via email on the 19th of July. They received it on the 24th. I spoke with the receptionist on the 24th of July, provided my credit card information for the deposit and confirmed that they had received the signed quote and I was on schedule for the last week of July or the first week of August depending on how the other jobs went. On 30 July I called and asked for an update and was told that due to the weather things had been delayed to the first or second week in August. I called on the 3rd, 7th, and the 14th of August and each time I was told that due to delays I was one to two weeks out. I called on 28 August and was assured that the work was going to start the first week in September, as I was next in line. On 4 September I called for an update and was once again was told that work was going to start this week. I called on 6 September and was told work would start Friday or Saturday. I called on Friday morning the 7th and was told the crew would start Saturday morning the 8th. This was the week of the major wind storm in Anchorage. At 4:15pm on Friday the 7th I received a phone call from the owner telling me that the quote was wrong and work was not going to start the next day. On Monday 10 September I went to Holland's office hoping to resolve this issue. I once again explained the issues I was having with my roof. I was told me that there was no way that they could re-roof my whole house for the original price and asked me how I thought the bid could be reasonable, I tried to explain that I was happy with the work done by them in the past and I never expected my whole roof to be redone, just the areas recommended by their estimator. I also pointed out that the quote did not look that different than the quote I got 4 years ago in detail and format. I also said that I am not a roofing professional and got no other quotes, as I was happy with their previous work. I was told me there was no way they would start a project of this size on a weekend contrary to what there staff told me. When I asked them if i were to agree to the changes, what the time line would be, they said that they did not know because of other commitments and the availability of materials. I asked why they had no materials if they were going to start at the end of July! They said that that was never going to happen and their staff never said that. I offered my cell phone records and was then told their staff had misinformed me. After waiting almost two months for them to show up I did not get my roof done and had to have it covered with plastic sheeting so that It would not leak thru the winter. For your own sake please avoid HOLLAND ROOFING, as this unreliable and unethical company does not honor their own bids.

The experience went pretty horrible. Before we purchased the house, Holland Roofing replaced the roof on the house. They left an old wooden ladder on top of the roof. After multiple calls and an e-mail with request to take the old ladder down (because it's too high for us to get it down ourselves), secretary told us that it's not their ladder and they are not responsible for it. What is also frustrating is that they sent a contractor to check out if that was their ladder and the contractor didn't even take it down even though he was right there! With pictures before and after roof replacement we can prove that Holland Roofing are the one's who left the ladder there. I think this company is irresponsible and careless about customers. I was promised to get a call back from their supervisor and still waiting for it (3 months later)... Very dissapoiting. I do not recommend this company to anyone. They will forget more stuff on your roof and will blame it on anyone else. Thanks for reading.

The roofers were amazing. The price was very reasonable. They gave a warranty for the work they did. The experience was really great.

We thought we would need a new roof, so received a quote from Holland. Their prices were reasonable, but it took them several days to return the quote (after stated date). They were very pleasent to work with. It turned out that we did not need a new roof, so we will not need their services, however, they will be the first call on my list when/if that time arrives. It would have given them the opportunity if we did need a new roof.

I called for a bid to replace my flat tar roof with a PVC roof used in commercial applications as I had researched this option and supposed it to be a good option. They bid the job at around 12000 with the replacement of any rotten wood parts as this happens with flat roofs more often, I was told. I had to wait a couple months after the quote and I asked them to do the roof, they came back out and rebid the job at about 15000. I dont remember the reason they said it was more. I had to have it done so I told them to start and they put me on the schedule for about a month away, so ok. Then they called about a week later and said they could squeeze me in before thier crew went up to Fairbanks or something. Ok, so they started and I was not able to oversee or be their to answer or ask questions. The onsite supervisor called me once because the vent stack had fallen through to the furnace roof and they needed me to come and get it for them. I got it and left it outside for them since they were at lunch when I got there. They finished and when I went over after there were still some nails on the ground and they side of the building was dirty from the tar roofing being thrown off and it some how coming in contact with the building. Then the molding on the side they said they had to use plastic instead of metal because that was what was recommended by the manufacturer, but it did not meet up at the corners. Very large gaps in the corners. I called and complained about this and they came back over supposedly cleaned up more and put white silicon in the corner gaps. Ultimately I had to sweep up more. I also started having problems with my furnace. Turns out after I called out the plumber/furnace guy. He went up on the roof and told me that the outside pipe of the dual pipe to vent the furnace had fallen down onto the furnace inside and caused the furnace to not vent properly and that it automatically was shutting off because of this. He also would have to cut away the roofing material that was up there to get the pipe back up where it should be. I called to ask the roofing company about this and they said that it would cost me more money for them to come back out and fix any holes put in the roof. I asked about the first pipe that fell and they should have checked the others. I thought this might have been logical, but they said this is not what they do, it was not there fault. They just do roofs not furnaces. What ever, pipes that go through the roof they are replacing have to be positioned correctly through the roof and if one fell through maybe another had. Anyway I got nowhere with the supervisor. I feel that they did my place in a hurry before leaving for another and did a shim sham job. I will not hire them or recommend them to anyone!!!

They missed the appointment and did not return my follow up calls. Three days later I got a bid in my email that was either based on a drive by or public records because they never visited my property. I wasn't impressed that they didn't call or give the bid in person.

They came to replace the roof then came back to answer some questions. The best we can tell is that they did a good job. We got several estimates and theirs was in the lower half. We also got recommendations from acquaintances. I don't have any complaints, they did a good job. I couldn't say much more until I have a chance to examine it, they did it just before winter. I think they did a nice job, it looked good when they finished it. It is a 30 year roof.

While checking in on my parents house this winter I noticed there was some leaking into their brand new remodeled kitchen due to an ice d*** on the roof. I called one company that quoted me three weeks out to shovel snow off of a roof and didn't even bother to take my name. I looked through Angie's List, found Holland and remembered that I had seen their trucks in Wasilla. I checked out their web site but ended up calling since the work was for my parents. Although they preferred me to sign up through their web site, they worked with me and then my dad, who was in California at the time, over the phone. Not only did they come and do the job, but they did it the day they spoke with him since they had a cancellation! They were very willing to work with me and my parents that were out of town. They came right away, when they said they would and shoveled off their roof and even part of the their deck. They did not put any snow into the driveway either, which I was very happy about. I would recommend this company!

Fast service. I work with this company so I'm extremely biased in favor of them. But I have had these roofers do work on my other businesses rental homes and my personal home. Even from an outside customers point of view, I am still impressed. The snow has been horrible this year, almost triple from past years. The Holland Roofing men worked hard and quickly at getting the snow off the roofs. They also roofed my personal home in South Anchorage and my rental home in Wasilla and both look great. I can honestly say that Holland Roofing does have the best workers.

I submitted a request for ice and snow removal via the online form on their website. I followed up with a phone call a few minutes later to get an estimate on how soon they would be able to get to my roof. I was pleasantly surprised when the lady told me it would be early the following week. I also asked if they could also check the overall condition of the roof especially around the vents and get an estimate if they found any areas that might need to be repaired. She said that that wouldn't be a problem. I realized that some jobs take longer than others and that there were probably quite a few others in line ahead of me so when no had shown up by Wednesday I made a call around 4 p.m. to see if I was still on the schedule for that week. I was a bit stunned when the woman on the phone said they had no record of my request and asked that I submit another one on line. I was told they would still be able to fit me in that week so I submitted another one while we were still on the phone to be sure that it was received.Two workers arrived about 1:10 Friday afternoon. I asked the one who had knocked on the door if he had been told about checking the roof around the vents. He nodded and said something about checking it out. They got right to work and were done and gone by 1:45. They just took off when they were done. They had to use sledge hammers on the areas that had some significant ice dams. On the front (south side) when some of the ice broke away it bent the spouting and pulled it away from the hose as well as seperating the connection fron the gutter to the downspout. The disclaimer does state that Holland isn't responsible for any damages done during the process of snow and ice removal but I feel that they should at least have mentioned that it occurred and let me know that it something that would need to be fixed. I also would have appreciated having been told whether or not there were any problems on the roof in the areas I had asked to have checked. Since they were here for so short a time I'm inclined to believe that just focused on getting the roof shoveled and going on to the next job. There were no notes on the invoice indicating whether or not anything had been checked. I suspect I may have had some new hires/ seasonal workers. I would think full time permanent employees would not just be thinking of the quick money now but also of the potential for bigger jobs during the summer season.

They are great. They are good and very fast. We've used them before. They've re-roofed one of our houses before. They are reliable and they know what they are doing. We haven't had any problems with the roof. Their price is good, but it's not the best price.

We didn't wait, we called them immediately because we had to competing with other people who wanted their roof done too. They were excellent. They had it done in 2 days; one day to strip the roof, second day to put it on and they were done. The roof was costly but not something that I can really cut corners with either, everything is more expensive up here. We had windstorms recently and did not have any issues. They came right out and they even took the pictures on their digital camera for us for the insurance company, so we didn't have to go up on the roof. They were pretty quick. The house was not left for the elements.

Holland Roofing conducted themselves promptly and professionally throughout my dealings with them. They went out of their way to ensure that they provided me with damage assessment photos and a detailed estimate for my insurance company. Their attention to detail in keeping my yard clean when they stripped off old roofing was much appreciated. Holland installed new attic venting without charge to ensure that I wouldn't have any problems with ice dams on my roof. I am entirely pleased with their work.

Better than I could have imagined. The only thing I found when they were done was one staple in the fireplace that fell down the chimney. They were quick, efficient and professional- and I couldn't even tell they had been there. The yard was so clean I had to ask my neighbor if they had even been there!

Professional, on time, curteous, cleaned up jobsite. Provided copies of insurance, bonding, etc... with proposal. Very pleased overall.
