+ 0 moreGMG appeared to do a great job asphalting the driveway. Four years later contacted them regarding an issued. They do not have a length of warranty time on their proposal. The office gals informed me it's one year. It is not on their contract. What is on the contract basically says they are not responsible for any problems. My situation is the asphalt didn't hardened underneath the top surface. While putting down edging between the grass and the asphalt, four years later, the underneath asphalt started coming out like lava. It was a day that was sunny and warm. Contacted GMG to informed them. General Manager Keven Rogers came over to look at the problem. He took measurements of the driveway and stated he would send over a proposal. After the second call he then sent over a blank proposal. Guess he was telling me It's Not GMG's Problem. This is a situation where it was not visual. How do you know what is happening underneath?

+ -1 moreThis is the 2nd review I am posting. The 1st was submitted shortly after work was complete. This review is approx. 3 mos. post-project. Although GMG noted that there may be some puddling on the new surface, the result I have is extreme. It was not noticeable immediately and failed attempts to follow up with GMG explains the late 2nd review. I have several spots on my new driveway that are uneven and gather water after rain. One, directly in front of my garage door, is esp large and problematic. I have contacted GMG on 5 separate occasions asking for a return visit and recommendations. While I have recv'd replies to all of my emails, no visit has been made and no suggestions for a remedy offered. As noted in my earlier review, GMG is a large commercial paving co. It may be that small residential driveways like mine are used as "filler" in between larger projects. As such, it appears small contracts are prioritized accordingly.

Description of Work: Removed existing concrete entryways and mixed concrete / asphalt driveway. Replaced with an asphalt driveway and concrete walkways. GMG fixed grade issues with the driveway and walkways, all with very little input needed from me. I was out of town when the paving / concrete were completed and came home to an absolutely amazing and professional job. I couldn't be happier with GMG.

Description of Work: GMG promptly evaluated and scheduled maintenance repairs to our existing driveway several years ago. They arrived when scheduled and completed their work in a timely manner and absolutely to our satisfaction. The asphalt has held up and we continue to be pleased with the repairs.

Description of Work: Replaced driveway. Aspalt drive was in bad shape. Got multiple bids and was referred to them by others. Had them remove old drive and dig down 30+inches in most of layout. brought in proper fill and compacted. all work was done early and crew was fast and thorough. Driveway in great shape two years later and has not moved or heaved. Great outfit and people.

+ 1 moreGMG bid, specifications for the thickness and quality of the concrete and timetable for installation for services was as good or better than other bidders. Their reputation and Angies list rating was very good. We gave them the contract. The old driveway was removed and the new driveway poured within the timeframe agreed upon. GMG's staff was very professional and the driveway looks great. I would recommend them to anyone needing a concrete driveway.

Description of Work: The excavation crew came 3 days ahead of the quoted date - with our happy permission. They removed our old pavement, excavated for the new driveway, placed great AS&G D-1 down 6" deep and compacted it for our new approximately 90'x 14' driveway - connected to the State road out front. The old driveway was only 9' x 45' onto gravel. The next morning a large paving crew showed up and did a great job of paving 2" hot asphalt, compaction and traffic control. They picked good weather days and the finish/drainage is great. It was all done per the Alaska DOT/PF "Authority to Construct" and passed their inspections for permit after construction. A lot of the workers have 30 years experience and are family that work great together. We just showed them what we needed in the completed project and got out of the way. They are very professional and could have not done better. I am a retired DOT/PF State Pavement Engineer and State Quality Assurance and have seen lots of paving so my comments are experienced. Their timing was right on (and ahead). They cleaned up great too. The price was excellent and well worth it. If you need paving call GMG General. You won't regret it.

No damage to adjacent walls and windows even in close proximity. Very responsive when we pointed out adjustments to make in positioning of concrete steps. Were aware of city permitting for ROW encroachment and followed that procedure avoiding trouble. Gave advice on care to make the concrete longlasting. We are extremely happy with end result.

+ -1 moreThey took the time to rope off & construct temporary wood platforms for my tenants to walk over the newly poured sidewalks enabling the concrete to properly cure. The crew applied proper grading for the sidewalks and asphalt patch repairs. They weren't the cheapest bid but overall I knew that I wouldn't have to worry about the quality of work during & after the repairs. Would definitely use GMG General again if every given the opportunity.
Description of Work: GMG General, Inc removed/replaced approx 370 square feet of asphalt and removed/replaced approx 290 square feet of two old sidewalks with 4" thick concrete & w/#4 ribar at a 28 year old Fairview 4-Plex where the sidewalks were badly cracked & the asphalt needed repairs to both the front and alley side parking lots.

+ -1 moreWe recently had our driveway replaced, not w/concrete but asphalt. I called for an estimate, and it was quite prompt. I had an additional item to be included in extending the driveway, and the young estimator gave me two estimates, if I didn't want to include the extension after gettng the driveway estimate, I felt their price was quite reasonable, but I was most impressed watching the crew work. There was no wasted efforts, no lollygagging. They knew what to do and how to proceed and did it. They gave me a flyer on what to do after the driveway was finished which advised me how to treat it so it would last as long as possible. Their cleanup was excellent along with care to keep traffic flowing smoothly on the street, which is fairly busy. I was very impressed. I would go back to this company and will definitely recommend them for this type of work to friends.
Description of Work: The old driveway was removed, a small flower bed w/small trees was scraped away and removed, and then the driveway was completely renovated with new gravel and asphalt.
