+ -1 moreDave was polite on the phone. He made an appointment for the next day at my convenience. He showed up on time and was quick, efficient and knowledgeable. The only thing that was slightly inconvenient about Dave's service (and the reason why I gave a C on professionalism) is that he is a cash or check guy only and since I purchase with debit/credit cards it was necessary for me to go to the bank / ATM to withdraw cash. It was a minor inconvenience though compared to the benefits of his quick and friendly service. I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: My gas oven was not lighting. I called Dave on Wednesday afternoon and described the problem he said it was probably the igniter and indicated that was a part he carried in stock. He scheduled a service call for the next day and arrived at my home at the scheduled time. He did have his elderly father with him but this was not a problem and not much more unusual than a technician that might bring an apprentice on a service call. He came, tested the igniter and then worked with my home warranty company to get the payment authorization code (a service he did not have to provide because he is not their contracted service provider); the hold time waiting for the authorization code actually took longer than the actual repair which gave me an opportunity to do some much needed cleaning inside the oven while it was apart. Once payment was authorized he was able to replace the igniter and was done in less than an hour.

Description of Work: My gas oven was not lighting. When I called he said it was probably the igniter and he had some in his truck. I thought my stove was really old but he asked me some questions (I was at work, not in front of the oven) which told him the approximate age of the appliance. He came, assessed and replaced igniter and was done in less than an hour.

+ -1 moreI had a water leak in the refrigerator. I called Dave mid-morning and he was able to squeeze me in that afternoon. He was efficient, professional, and is a very pleasant fellow. He quickly diagnosed the problem (water lines from the valves to the ice-maker and the door) and fixed it. His fees are very reasonable compared to the few other appliance repairs I've had done.This is the second repair this spring Dave has done for us. The first was a gas dryer that needed a temperature control fuse (that may be the wrong technical name.) He was equally pleasant, professional, and efficient on that occasion.
Description of Work: Repair failing water lines from the valves to the door and ice-maker in my refrigerator Previously, replace the temperature control fuse in my gas dryer.

He spent almost an hour trying to figure out the issue, but since we couldn't replicate the problem, he couldn't fix it. However, he only charged me his callout/ diagnosis fee, and said that if the problem was still occurring in the next few days, that he would come back and would apply the call out fee to the repair charges.

+ -1 moreThe tech. Dave showed up on time. He came with the item that i needed to repair the stove as I spoke w/him on the phone and explained my repair problem. He worked quietly and quickly to repair the defective item. He finished and gave me the defective part and this took about half an hour. He cleaned up after himself and around/behind the range. He checked the entire stove/burner to make sure they all worked properly. He was curt in response to my questions but, he got the job done quickly and efficiently. While I was happy with the service provided he did not take a credit card which was a surprise to me. He followed me to my bank where I paid him in cash. Despite that issue...I would still call him again as he is more than competent in his skill set.

+ -1 more"Dave" came to my house on short notice, took a quick look at my refrigerator and decided that it was probably something that he couldn't fix. He made a recommendation on who he thought would be able to fix the problem and didn't charge a dime for stopping by. Although I do feel that he probably shouldn't have charged me anything because he didn't fix anything, most contractors charge you $100 "...just for starting the truck". I thought he was fair and honest and would definitely call him again if I had another issue with an appliance.
Description of Work: He came in and looked at the refrigerator, decided he couldn't fix this model, and left me with a recommendation of someone who could.
