Crew Cut Lawns

It went very well, very professional. Gavin came with us to the nursery to help pick out a good tree. His worker picked the tree up from the nursery and brought it to our place on the scheduled day. The work was done on time and he came out to check with his employee to see that everything was ready and confirm the plan. Prior they had done a grass thatching and liming that was done well, also for two of our neighbors.

My wife and I tried for weeks and weeks to get Crew Cut Lawns to take care of our yard. They are completely unresponsive, and utterly uninterested in doing business. I would not recommend them at all, as they’re totally unreliable. You’d have better luck convincing a moose to mow your yard, seriously.

Good Evening Anchorage, I don't usually give feedback regarding personal experiences with goods & service providers... but today was an extraordinary exception. I recently signed a contract Crew Cut Lawns. During my initial meeting with their Representative who provided the estimate... I made a special point to give explicit instructions on how I wanted my lawn cut (high, NOT low). I also walked over my entire property with their Rep and pointed our the specifications I required. Their offering sounded very reasonable, so I decided to move forward with this relationship and trusted Crew Cut Lawns to supply what I needed. I felt so relieved to have finally connected with what appeared to be a proper Lawn Service for a reasonable price! For their first cutting, I also offered to pay them [above] what they were asking, hoping this gesture of goodwill, would be meaningful enough to ensure them, of my good intentions & appreciation for their prompt service. Today, knowing that Crew Cut would be coming for my first mowing... four hours earlier, I called and spoke with the Office staff to reiterate my instructions and was told by the Office staff... that she would convey my directions & concerns to the team prior to their arrival. 30 minutes before arriving, a Team Member called me to say, that they were on the way. I alerted them, that I was working in my garden in my backyard, but needed to check in with them when they arrived, to go over the plan again! My thinking was since I'm a NEW CUSTOMER, I needed to be assured that everyone was on the same page! The Team member assured me that he would knock at my door when they arrived.... so, I informed my wife who was in our home that they were in the way & to let me know when they arrived. A [hour] later, I went to my front lawn and was absolutely shocked to discover that Crew Cut's Team had gone to the WRONG ADDRESS, and completely cut my neighbor's lawn (a very obnoxious neighbor, whose constantly a nuisance to our Community in more ways than one), instead of mine... even though my address was written on their invoice... even though I had communicated with 3 different people! I found this to be totally unacceptable and after speaking with the Owner of Crew Cut Lawns... I was thoroughly convinced that I needed to cancel my contract & will in good faith... recommend this Lawn Service Business to anybody I knew!. The lack of professionalism, sensitivity to unlawful trespassing on someone's property without permission... seems obvious to be a definite deficient in expertise here! I came away from this debacle being made to feel as though, I was the blame for the undisputable error on their part. I asked the owner to come out to the site to communicate directly to my neighbor about their error, but he refused, stating, he was afraid, due to my being upset about what happened. There is a legal restraining order between my neighbor & me... and this incident has provoked an unnecessary immense new conflict with the potential of legal action being filed against me. I find so appalling that the Owner refuses to take full ownership of this problem his business has created! My advice to all... please think wisely before hiring this incompetent Business for your Lawncare Services!

We've been using Crew Cut Lawns for our rental properties. We've recently been trying a new company that specializes in organic lawn care and we're very interested in that.

We've seen Crew Cut Lawns working around our neighborhood and we hired Crew Cut for snow removal at a house we were selling, with mixed results. Since the house was for sale during winter, it was important to us that realtors and buyers has safe and easy access to the house at all times. We still live a few blocks away from that house, so we would drive over regularly to check on the service. Overall, Crew Cut usually did a good job of clearing the drive and shoveling the front steps at a fair price. However, sometimes they'd clear the drive too early when a heavy snowfall was forecast, and we'd have to go over ourselves to hand shovel another six inches off the drive later in the day. After another heavy snowfall, Crew Cut didn't plow until the day after the snow had stopped falling, and then they forgot to clear the steps. There were also couple of times that they missed our house, but still charged for services (snow plowing or shoveling) that hadn't been provided. It took several calls, emails and letters to correct the billing errors, but they did correct them.

Have been using them for years. They are very dependable.

I would give them an A, they are very good. They listen if I have anything. They provide an excellent service. I would definitely use them again. I've had them for 3 or 4 years.

They are definitely an A, one good thing about them is they hold off the big grass, I don't have to deal with them.

They responded initially to complete the service and it was fine. I ensured at that time that I was on a weekly rotation for lawn maintenance and was guaranteed that was the case. After two weeks of no service I recalled to see if I was still on the list and was again guaranteed that was the case and they would be out within a couple of days. A week and an overgrown lawn later still no service I contacted them and I was informed that they would be out the next day. My lawn looks terrible and hasn't been maintained now for almost a month. I attempted to contact them through their web site and never received a response. I will never use them again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. Terrible service.

the fertilizing job did not turn out well. The owner came out and tried to fix the patches but still did not look very good. They have been doing our weekly mowing and that has worked OK. Our lawn boundaries are a little complicated so we had to work with the crew to make sure they got everything. As others have noted they do offer good pricing. So will not use them for fertilizing again but may use them for mowing.

They did a good job. The price was reasonable. Having someone come in and do the lawn for that amount it was reasonable. They are always on schedule. They are a reliable company to deal with.

They came on the day of the week I requested, left the clippings where my husband could easily throw the bags into our trash receptacle, trimmed around our trees WITHOUT whacking the heck out of the tree trunks, and would have done our spring cleanup if we'd begun using them at the beginning of the summer. We were quite pleased with them, and more than grateful that they were willing to take us on mid-summer!

The owner is very responsive and they have been providing these services for 3 years. I have had minimal problems sometimes with the yard crew as they change but all it takes is a call to owner and he quickly gets it fixed. Plus this last summer they were providing the services at the same time we were having major landscaping done and they worked with me very well as we went through the seeding and different grass phases. Plus they are reasonable and honest.

Professional and punctual. I also use them for snow plowing. If anything needs correcting or addressing (very rare), it is taken care of immediately.

Gavin is the best!! We've been using him for 5 or 6 years now for lawn service, his guys do a great job. Competitive prices and great service- what more could you ask?

Gavin is incredibly responsive and the services provided are top notch. I was using another provider and received the Crew Cut Lawns flyers the past few seasons. I kept them for possible future reference and I am very glad I did. From the first call to the most recent I have been very pleased with the quality of service and the professionalism.

Because there was some miscommunication, we straightened out the problem, as he continued my grass was beautifully cut. Cost was according to your specification. |
