Description of Work: Removed 4" of old asphalt and hauled it away. Regraded for drainage and compacted then put in D-l and asphalt. Even built a small pathway to my front porch totally transforming the entry way.

Description of Work: Caddo Construction replaced the driveway of my residence in the Oceanview area of Anchorage. We had an asphalt driveway which was in poor condition from many years of frost heaving and wear and tear. When the company owner (Shorty) came out to do the estimate we spoke for an extensive period about what could be done to assure longevity for this new driveway. This was a real opportunity for this man to "upsell" me with additional insulation and/or greater excavation depth and additional fill layers, etc., etc., etc. However, he spoke to me in what I believed to be a very honest and sincere manner and actually discouraged me from paying him more money to do some of the things I had heard other people do to increase the lifespan of their asphalt driveway. He offered me his personal expertise gained through many years of asphalt work, some of which done in my own neighborhood. I took his advice and in the end accepted his bid. (his was the second least expensive of four). | |We did have some miscommunication with scheduling regarding a start date. This was initially a bit frustrating but only a minimal inconvenience and, in the end,of no consequence what so ever. | |When the work started it was immediately clear that we had made the correct choice. The Caddo work crew is amazingly conscientious and professional. They take their jobs very seriously and work precisely. They were careful to not disturb or disrupt our neighbors and when finished, left the work site and street absolutely spotless. The work ethic displayed through every member of the Caddo work crew was outstanding. My wife and I were very pleased that we could support a business of this caliber. It is rare to find a business that respects its customers to this degree. It made paying for their services so much less painful knowing that they were so deserving. In fact, I feel that we received a more than fair price for the services we received. How ofter do you ever feel like that? | |Caddo Construction did an excellent job on our driveway. I recommend them without reservation. I would use them again without a second thought. I wish more companies were like them.

 + 0 moreScheduling appointment was easy and fast. Price quoted was better than competitors by about 2,000. After work began, it was determined that additional fill would be required. That made the price more comparable w// other estimates. It was well worth the price. Quality job. Owner was one site for major of the job and he was very accommodating.
Description of Work: Removed old concrete driveway. Level/Grade. Replace with asphalt.

 + 0 moreThey came right away to do the quote but we had trouble getting the written quote either due to email problems or whatever. I kept calling them and they were not good about returning my calls or responding to my emails. Once I told them we had chosen them they emailed right back a confirmation but that was about all I heard so I called and emailed a couple of times to see when we would be scheduled. Got not response until I called again to see where we were. I did all the calls to ask when we would be scheduled etc. but they were very nice and helpful once we communicated. I would have felt a little more confident in my choice if they had communicated a little more. After several weeks they said they would be here next week and I did call to confirm the day a couple of days before. They did not call that morning or the day before to remind us,but they showed up early that morning and got it done in two days. Once they were there to do the work they were very professional and the workers were really great. They do get the job done!

 + -1 moreLeft voice mail messages, and emailed. Received no call back until I had contacted someone else, the estimate and all work completed. They stated they were busy. I'm glad they have enough work to keep them busy but due to lack of responsiveness, their work won't be done for me. They were pleasant when they called, just extremely late in doing so.
