Best Split Firewood

They never came to the house to repair the damaged lawn after repeated responses stating that they'd handle it and customer service was a top priority for them. Had a firewood delivery in the fall of 2021 and they backed their truck off the driveway pad at the side of the house, onto the lawn, to get closer to the back yard gate. Their truck got stuck and needed to be towed off the lawn. While they were trying to get out, they left large ruts where their tires dug into the lawn. Gave them a pass, when they were unable to come to begin to repair the lawn that fall due to snow starting to come down. Contacted them again the following spring and after over a month of them not coming around to fix the damage they had done, when they said they would get it fixed, I wound up starting the lawn repair myself. Extremely disappointed in a company that repeatedly tells me that they've got me covered and the customer is a priority to them, but it turns out to be just lip service and they never followed through with actions.

Delivery was on time and driver was very pleasant. The wood was garbage! We ordered a cord of half mix of birch/spruce, We had maybe 30 pieces of birch, the rest was all spruce. The wood had mold on it because it had gotten so water logged and it surely was not seasoned, We can't get it to burn for nothing. It's been drying out in our heated garage for over 2 months now and still won't burn. Tried soaking it in lighter fluid and still having problems keeping it burning. My husband called Randy with these issues and Randy said he would make it good, well, when we called for another order of wood and reminded him of the bad load, all he did was up the price $50 and would not stand by his promises to make up for the bad load. We had gotten a reference for Best Split Firewood from a friend that had used him in the past and was happy with them, but our friend received the same treatment we got from Randy....garbage firewood! Neither we or are friend will be ordering wood from Best Split Firewood ever again and I have warned all our neighbors of the bad wood from Randy. I'm still wondering why his price went up $50 in just two. months.

No complaints; recommended. Delivered the same day I called, and at the agreed time. The amount they delivered was generous. The wood was reasonably dry and has burned very well, especially after letting it dry indoors for a month. Custom lengths are available for an extra $25. Not one bug has crawled out of the wood.

Went smooth and the employee loaded up my truck with what I purchased.

It didn't go well at all. This would be the 3rd cord I ordered from this company. In anticipation of their arrival i always move my vehicles out into the road to allow safe non destructive access to them to back right into my front yard and dump the load get paid and get them on their way. 4:00 came as scheduled no one showed. Over an hour later someone called and said heads up we're gonna be a little late...(obviously). The guy said they would be there within the next 45 minutes to an hour. I said no problem see you then. Still no one showed up. By 7:00 I figured obviously no ones coming and re parked my vehicles, and went to put the kids to bed. Randomly with no phone call shortly before 9:00 at night they show up. I told the driver the situation and told him to have Randy call me the next day to speak with him about the situation that took place and try to come to a resolve and get my wood delivered at a scheduled time due to accessibility. No one ever called, no nothing. I think in the future I'll be going somewhere else. They have enough business now that they don't realize losing one customer loses you a lot more. I have recommended them never lushly in the past to others and will no longer continue to do so. Thanks for nothing Randy

Delivered the firewood on time with a call before arrival. The split wood was in good condition and placed where I requested.

They were understaffed the day we had delivery. What was to have been a morning delivery, turned out to be a late afternoon/evening delivery. We had to wait around the house all day for them to arrive.If we hadn't had so many rain days before and forecast after the delivery date; we would have changed the date. As it was we had only that day to take delivery and get it stacked and covered before the next spate of rain events. The driver of the truck was also the office manager and she was overworked that day. Felt sorry for her - she was apparently the only loader, driver, and deliverer that day! Her boss ought to be ashamed and ought to give her a raise -- or at least a spot bonus! Don and Deborah

Amazingly professional. Called in the morning and the wood was here at 3pm that same afternoon, as promised. It's supposed to be seasoned, all Birch, but haven't tried to burn any because we are having such a hot summer. Was told at time I ordered it that the birch was felled a year ago and has been i there lot since then and was being split this week,so I am hopeful it is exactly as represented. That's the only reason I didn't yet rate quality. But I have to tell you, it has overall been a really good experience.

Looked up company for firewood delivery on Angie's List, emailed about prices and received response very quickly. The representative contacted my husband within minutes to set up type of wood and delivery. Delivery would have been made within a few hours but large snow fall postponed until the next day, but we were contacted about change in time. Wood was delivered today!

I ordered the cord of wood on Friday afternoon at 400 pm, and it was delivered on Saturday at 2 pm. They sent an email confirmation of the appointment, which was useful as a reminder.

Called to order wood. The other reviews were pretty good so I decided to pay his pretty high price for a cord delivered. It happened to be right at the time of the flooding this fall so he said it might take him a few days to get me the wood. I totally understood and said that it was fine. He said he would call me in a couple days with the details. A week and a half go by and I call him and he says he has been busy but he could call me the next day with details. Another week goes by and I start getting upset. All I was looking for was at least a little feed back. I call him again and he says he thinks he can get me some wood on the weekend. Finally a truck pulls up and its a lady who tells me that he bought this wood from someone else for me. I guess that's fine. She also hands me a dripping wet, tiny bundle of kindling and tells me that most wood companies don't include this perk. I give her the money and stack the wood in a dry place, some of it in my heated garage, because this wood is clearly wet. Later my wife and I try and make a fire and it takes tons of dry kindling, newspaper and constant blowing just to keep it even remotely burning. I am angry but I figure I will let it dry out for a week and try again. We build another fire and it still is wet, useless wood. I decide to call the guy and complain. He says he is sorry and tells me he is all about customer service and that he will make this right. That was over a month and a half ago and he has never tried to contact me or email me. I feel like I got ripped off badly. They definitely need to change their name to Most Useless Split Firewood. You don't always get what you pay for.

We called the company and arranged to have a half a cord of firewood consisting of a combination of birch and spruce be delivered to our residence. The company was running late on the day of delivery, but we were called ahead of time and notified of the later delivery. We have ordered firewood in the past from other companies located in this area, but have never received wood of this quality.

This was the second season we've used this company. Firstly - they are very easy to get ahold of and respond extremely quickly. Secondly - very professional - very easy to set a delivery date and they arrive on time. They even send you a confirmation email. We purchased a 1/2 cord of 80% birch and 20% spruce. We were apparently in their records, as they were able to thank me as a returning customer, which was nice. Unfortunately, this is also the second year in a row that our firewood was delivered quite damp. This makes it very frustrating to get fires going - like extremely difficult. We have resorted to "special tricks" to get our fires going (fuel sticks, etc). This is my only complaint with this company. I'd recommend them to friends/family.

I have seen ads on craigslist and their trucks around town so I decided to give them a call. I am a new resident of Eagle River and this is the first time I've ordered wood here. I called on short notice in anticipation of weekend wind storms and possible power outages. To be honest, I was really impressed BSF's email order confirmation system. Sometimes when placing these types of service calls, one has to go on a little bit of "faith." I felt very confident that the delivery would show up on time. Despite the great email system, however, the driver didn't get the word that he was supposed to stack the wood in our shed. I had not planned to be home, but thankfully I was because the wood likely would have been dumped on my lawn. That said, the driver took it in stride and made quick work of stacking the wood. Great attitude. I was so grateful. Price seemed a little bit high compared to what others may be advertising, but you get what you pay for. Randy (owner) was friendly and honest during the appointment setup. I will definitely be calling them again. UPDATE, 9/28/12: Wood smells wonderful and burns great. Not totally dry, but Randy told me to expect that. The various-sized logs and plenty of kindling make building and maintaining the fire very easy.

Fast prompt service. Price seemed a little high but the wood I received was very good and dry. Will custom delivery to type and amount you want. Recommend.

Fine. I recommend them. Don't expect two year seasoned wood, but it is good and solid.

I called the company in the morning and received the split birch only firewood that afternoon. The driver was on time and professional. He dumped the load of wood in the yard like I wanted. There were no round logs, just split pieces of dry birch. I only found two pieces of spruce when I stacked the wood. I found the company on Craigslist where they were running a special of $250/cord through May 15th.
