Fred at Aurora Windows came to my home, gave me a bid and took over $2000 in a deposit. He then never showed up to install the windows, never returned my calls, moved from his office without notice and I am not the only one that he took money from without doing the job. He is completely unreliable and not to be trusted or used if you value your money and time. Beware of the low bidder!
Description of Work: He was supposto replace my rotten wood windows.

005-2I have texted and called him and he has not completed the job. I am a Realtor and this is totally unacceptable. It has been 2.5 months and he told me about a month ago that he had one other job and then was doing mine but that has not happened.
Description of Work: he too my $1000 down and ordered the windows and said they would be in in 6 weeks.

It did not go well at all. Fred never installed the glass and he kept giving me excuses over the phone (supplier couldn't find my order, "I'll be up to install it next week," etc, etc). Finally, it was time to close on the house deal (this was AT LEAST 2 months after I'd ordered the glass) and the work was still not done. I ended up paying $500 out of my own pocket to satisfy the buyers. Nobody from Aurora Windows has attempted to contact me in 3 months, and for the past couple of months all of my voice messages and emails have gone unanswered. I believe Fred is no longer in business. I will be taking him to small claims court for whatever it's worth. Side note: Ironically, I had a large window replaced by this company a couple years ago and they did excellent work and were the cheapest in town.
Description of Work: Fred Johnson, owner of Aurora Windows, took measurements and "special ordered" some safety glass in a house I had under a sales contract in Anchorage. I told him we had to move quickly because the window was on our "fix-it" list before the deal could close. I gave him a check for the deposit.

Prepaid for window install at a good price. We were told once it warms up they would be out to do the work. We waited patiently until about March, when we began to call and ask when they thought they were going to be able to do the work. We were told the will call back in a day to schedule the install. After another couple of weeks we called and got the same response. This went on for a while until they stopped answering the phone. I went to the business location and the guy who took my check wasn't there, and nobody there was able to install my windows or give me a refund. I filled a complaint with the BBB and saw this has happened more then once. Read the complaints, F rating on BBB.
Description of Work: Aurora Windows was supposed to replace 2 windows to meet egress.
