without flaw, always late never fully equipped to do the job extremely sloppy work always needs more money never finishes a job completely very good at making excuses and lying straight at your face will take any shortcut possible to save a couple dollars and half-way complete the job The rebuild bathroom looks like crap, due to cheapest possible materials used (high end finishes were promised). We ended up with a $300 shower from Home Depot (tiled shower, concrete pan, and glass doors were promised). Vinyl floor instead of tiles. Wood Floor was never finished but we did get to pay for the materials (although initially included in the project). All drywalling done has a bad mudding finish which is uneven and not matching. The electrical outlets and switches that were moved with the wall are either not working or operating other electrical in different levels of the house. Needless to say, the Richard was to cheap to spring for a licensed electrician....but instead messed up the electric in many other places. Finishing touches to match colors or make it look decent were never accomplished, but he was really good at promising that it will look really great. basically, if you are looking for a guy that will complete a 2 week project in around 4 months, will show up late or not at all, complain at the cost of materials, make you pay for materials, cheat and lie to you...and in the end leave you hanging with an 85% completed sloppy job that looks like a 12 year old worked on it.... ....well, here is your guy... Good Luck !!!

We have an older home with lots of challenges when it comes to renovations and we try to keep that in mind. Nevertheless, not the level of professionalism we had hoped for. Very pleasant, but scheduling and punctuality not great.
Description of Work: Hooked up new kitchen sink and gas range.

from day one the crew had equiptment problems employee problems and general poor professional attitude toward the job at hand. they said the job would take 3to6days to complete an 1800square foot house and at the end of the 3rd day they were acting like they had never installed a hardwood floor like the choice that we picked. they wasted a lot of time running back and forth with equiptment malfunction .the jobersuper didnt know how to think on his feet if he ran into a problem he simply gave up and got frustrated called richard the owner to solve the problem .we kept a close eye on our flooring because we had put the close amount of flooring in each room plus 10% overage for mistakes well on the third day we happened to look in the trash pile that they said that they were going to dispose of and found that the extra case or two was walking out the door when they left every day and was going to other work sites we over heard the crew talking about the side work they were doing with our flooring that we paid for so we really started watching that crew and the owner of that company and reported them to lowes in aneffort to get this flooring installed rite. we cuaght his workers stealing materiels from our house that was job related for other jobs they borrowed our tools in our garage and we caught them going through our tools and taking things that did not belong to them and on one occasion when the nail gun failed they didnt do any thing at all they said they going to get a replacement nail gun and they didnt show up for two days so after that we said enough is enough we went to lowes and got the supervisors or the flooring department to come out to inspect the work they also called out Richard to the job site to clear up the problems they were only was suppose to be in our house 3 to 10days and it took them 20 days the crew showed up hung over not ready to work and on several occasions we even gave them lunch or dinner this crew was very un professional. if richard is still running his business like this we highly sugest that you shop around because they were terrible and dont use them they get a failing grade across the board

The project began with much promise - Arctic Restoration stated they could do everything within a week's time which was highly desired as we had a time limit on when the project needed to be finished. We purchased all of the materials through Lowe's to keep the project cheaper, and they arrived on time, ready to be installed. On the first day of the project no one showed up on time - I received a phone call from them saying a storm over the weekend had destroyed their office and they needed to delay a day, something that was greatly understandable. The next day, they showed up around 10 and one of them worked for a while, but not much was completed. By the third day, the tub and toilet were out, the floor and old shower were gone, and they were able to install the toilet. The tiler was supposed to show Thursday afternoon but decided that working on just an afternoon wasn't going to work, and so no work was done that day. Friday, the tiler showed up after 12 and worked until about 7 and got most of the bathroom done. He asked if he could come back on Sunday to finish the project - we said yes because we wanted the bathroom done. He didn't show up; instead I got a text saying he was sick and asking if he could show up Monday. Monday comes, he again shows up late and finishes the tile work. During this time, he thanks my wife for letting him take Sunday off - he wasn't sick, just too hungover and didn't want to have to work. Really? Don't tell us that. Two days after the tile work is done the rest of the crew comes back, finished the plumbing to the bathtub and installs the toilet and on Thursday, almost a week after they said it would be done. The bathroom was finished. Almost. The gentlemen who installed the toilet accidentally dropped the toilet on a tile, resulting in a chip. As this was guaranteed work, the company agreed to send the tiler back out on an agreed date. He doesn't show up, and when I call them to ask where he is the response I get is: "I didn't know we had work to do today." In the background I heard: "Well, I made the appointment, but forgot to get the address so I didn't know where to send him. I was waiting for the customer to call back to confirm." REALLY? You guys JUST came out to do the work, how could you not know where to send the tile guy? We reschedule for a specific date and time, and, amazingly, the tiler shows up 6 HOURS early to do the work - unfortunately no one was there to let him in. He wasn't passed the specific time I had arranged so that he could be let in. Long story short, he came back at the right time and the work was done. My wife and I love how our new bathroom turned out and the price was right - other quotes we received were almost twice as much. I suppose we got what we paid for on the customer service side, however. I selected that I would use this company again because of the price - this project would not have been affordable without them. Also, I am hoping that this was not their normal operating procedure, but I could be wrong.
Description of Work: This was half of a bathroom remodel, with the floor, toilet, tub, and walls around the bathtub being removed and replaced. The work involved installing a tile floor and tiling the walls of the shower, and the removal and replacement of the old toilet and bathtub and shower fixtures.

The initial visit went well and the owner of the company, Richard, seemed professional and could start right away. He told me he would lay the tile as his crews were busy doing other things. Monday morning was the promised time to start - I waited on Monday and someone, Robert and Vidal, showed up at 11AM to get started. I was told that the crew would show up with all the materials I had already purchased from Lowes to start the job - they did not - not only did they not have the supplies, I was told that Richard was not doing the work. By the end of the day, there was only one worker left and the only thing that got accomplished was the old tub was out and the new tub was sitting loosely, not plumbed in or level, where the old one had been. I had to help him carry the tubs in and out of my condo since there was only one person left to work. The next day, work started at 10AM. I was told that the tile guy would be there once they got everything prepped. the tile guy showed up at 1PM but nothing was prepped and he had to wait till 3PM to start on the shower surround. I was also informed that the vanity I had bought was ruined and they had to get a new one (aparently, a box of tile that was stacked in the van had fallen from the 4 foot high shelf it was on and crashed through my vanity on the way to my place). The tile guy, Russ, had to stay at my place till 8:30PM to work; he got less than 1/2 of the shower surround done and none of the floor. Tile work resumed at 8AM. After noticing alot of water raining from the ceiling of my parking garage, I went to my second floor condo to make sure everything was going ok in the bathroom...The tile guy had a sink supply line in a bucket, the bucket was overflowing in the bathroom and sent water showering down 2 stories through the wall of the building - I told Russ, the tile guy, he needed to call his boss. When Richard, the boss, showed up, he said "oh it's a plumbing wall, they're made to shed water it's no big deal." I can go on and on about the total lack of proffesionalism of this company and their affiliate House Surgeons of AK; here's a short list of what was done at my place: No carpet runner laid down to walk on for the first 2 days used my closet as a tool staging area with no tarps, paper, plastic or anything to protect my clothes or floor loose plumbing after they had finished (I had to hire a plumber to come in behind them and fix the new install) unlevel bathtub on 'finished' product underestimated materials and sent me to the store to pick things up I had to loan the crew tools that they didn't have to do the job...even buckets for goodness sakes! left unsealed grout as a 'finished' product mismatched tile - they pulled the tile off the shelf at Lowes and didn't look at the dye lot numbers 3 days estimated on the job - 8 days later, I had to hire a plumber to finish the job mounted shower curtain too high tub spout installed with less than 2 treads holding it in place toilet mounting bolts too short and the toilet was left loose as a 'finished' product Oh yeah, then, my wife goes to use the tub, turns on the water and the water comes out of both the shower head and the tub spout - it seems that they used the wrong piping for the tub spout that creates too much backpressure - result, tear out the new shower surround to do it right or put a 'restrictor' valve at the shower head - you know, a shut off at the shower head... Do not use this company! I recommend not using Lowe's contractors at all - Lowes had no follow up even though they were notified of the poor job their contractor was doing as it was happening.
Description of Work: Hires this company through Lowes to install tile in bathroom on floor and shower surround; set a new tub, vanity and toilet. This was a small bathroom - total square footage on the floor tile was only 33 s/f with a basic shower surround. Nothing elaborate or unusual about the job at all. Job estimate included installation of a new control valve for the toilet (the old one was just a different style than what they use now. There was no damage to old sheet rock, floor or plumbing in the bathroom prior to their arrival. I had everything prepped for the job; all the old tile was removed, the old tub was loose, the old vanity had been taken out as had the toilet - they had a blank slate to work from. The quoted time was 3 days max - start to finish - that's why I hired them - time was of the essence with this job.
