Great experience! Coordinated repairs on a rental property of ours out in Eagle River with our tenants. Since the tenants were heading out of town the next day, they managed to fit them in for same day service that evening, Replaced both springs (even though only one was broken) which is absolutely the best practice... saving a lot of money on a future call for the inevitable failure of the other spring. I can imagine that some outfits would not suggest such a proactive repair, as a future callback would definitely be in the interest/financial benefit of the maintainer. Price was also incredibly reasonable, especially when factoring the immediate response and after (normal) hours repair.

The owner (Allegrezza) came to take a look. He was personal. Gave me a ball park idea and seemed responsive. But then he fell off the map. I called the office several times and was told by his assistant that they would get back me with final price and schedule details. I wanted some windows in the doors, so he had to find out what he had on hand. Never got a response back. I wanted this job done weeks ago and have now lost a couple of months waiting around in vain for call backs. My impressions is that the owner is a nice guy, but during busy season is rather disorganized. Or simply cherry picks larger commercial jobs. Not sure. All I know is that this company was a disappointment. It always amazes me when a going concern feels that they can be this unresponsive and still thrive.
Description of Work: Asked this firm for pricing and schedule on replacing two residential garage doors. A routine job.

Our old garage door broke and these guys were able to come out right away. We decided to replace the whole door and track system and springs. They were able to come back out and do the install within a couple of days. David was the technician and he was great! Both appointments were very prompt and the service was wonderful. Our new door works great goes up and down MUCH smoother and quieter than our old rickety door that was almost 30 years old. We are very pleased with the service, pricing and overall end product and installation.
Description of Work: Great service and reasonably priced!

I called on a Saturday and they answered! Scheduled me for Monday. They showed up on time, which was great as I told them I had to leave within the hour. The repairman stated he should only take 45 minutes or so. That really worked. I made it to my meeting on time and got the garage door fixed! Very nice, personable, yet professional service. Very reasonable prices. By the time other services began returning my calls the next week, my door was already fixed!

I called for an appointment on Tuesday afternoon. They agreed to fit me in the next morning. They called in the AM to verify available time and arrived at the appointed time. Within an hour they had the new garage door opener installed. When I asked if they could help with the weather stripping, they went back to their shop, picked up the materials and installed the stripping in a half hour. I was given a tutorial on how to work the new opener and was told to call if I had any trouble at all. I would recommend them whole heartedly.

Description of Work: We have used Allegrezza Door Company for many years now for maintenance on our garage door. They have replaced springs for us and adjusted the opener when needed. We decided this summer that we needed a new door and opener all together and did some shopping around. I called Home Depot and they said it would take 8 weeks and cost twice as much as Allegrezza quoted. We went with Allegrezza! Allegrezza workmen showed up when they said they would (which was only 3 days after I phoned) and with a smile. The fellows who come to the house are always friendly and come ready with jokes and easy going attitudes. They were here for only around two hours, took our old door down and loaded it up for them to deal with so we didn't have to. They installed the new door, new opener and keypad ( door cost: $1540, opener cost: $350 which included two remotes, outdoor wall mounted keypad: $35.) quickly and with all new hardware. We payed, they left and then the opener started making a horrid noise and wouldn't move the door. I called the serviceman who'd installed it right away and he was back to the house within 10 minutes with an entirely different and new opener in hand. He replaced the opener with the second new opener and we haven't had a problem since! We love our new door, it keeps the garage nice and toasty and is whisper quiet! We will always call Allegrezza for our garage door needs.

Wednesday evening, when I got home from work, the garage door wasn't opening. So I got out of the car and tried the one in the truck, which was already parked in the driveway. Being closer to the garage at that point, I could see the door lift just a tiny bit and then sink back down. Thinking something must be jamming the door (probably something fell against one of the rails), I went in through the front door and into the garage. I couldn't find anything that should keep garage door from going up but when I hit the garage door button, the door rose a tiny bit and then went back down. Being inside the garage now, I could see the garage door opener light was blinking on and off. Fearing that the opener was having a problem, I pulled the release on the overhead track and tried pulling the door up manually. I was able to pull the door up but only with great effort. That double car garage door must weigh 100 pounds or more! My wife came down to ask what was going on and said that the door had worked fine earlier in the day when she came in from working outside in the yard. She did note that right after she closed the garage door and went into the main part of the house, she had heard a really loud noise but, at the time, it sounded like it came from upstairs so she didn't really associate it with the garage door. As soon as she told me about hearing the loud noise after closing the garage door, I looked up and sure enough, the right-hand torsion spring above the door was in two pieces. Since the torsion springs are what counterbalance the weight of the door, it is no wonder it felt like I was trying to dead-lift a hundred pounds or so....Because I was! When our garage door opener died several years ago, our oldest son recommended Allegrezza Door Company to us. He said that they did all the repair and maintenance on the doors at the commercial shop he worked for and he thought they did residential doors as well. He told us they did really good work and he was right. We have been happy with the new garage door opener from day it was installed and it works well to this day. So when we needed more work done, they were our first choice. We didn't get around to calling until later in the day on Thursday and, while they hoped to be able to have someone out to us the same day, their closest technician was out in Eagle River on another callout and they couldn't guarantee he would be back in time to come by before the end of the day. But if he did not make it in time, they would have someone out the next morning for sure. Andy showed up before 10:30 the next morning. He recommended replacing both springs because they had both been through the same number of ups and downs and if one snapped, the other was also at end of life and could break at any time. While replacing the springs, he inspected the cables and rollers that connect the rod the springs are on to the bottom of the door and they looked good. He even had to help move a motorcycle that was up on a lift by one end of the door and some other junk blocking the way. Andy was very professional and got the work done quickly. He was done with the job, paid, and off to the next customer in 36 minutes (or less). I know because my wife texted me when he showed up and again she he was done and paid and out the door... Total time between texts was 36 minutes. The door works fine once more. It goes up and goes down, all at the push of a button. As I said earlier on, this is the second time we've used Allegrezza and we've been very happy with the quality of service (and product in the case of the replacement automatic door opener) and the price both times. We would recommend them to family and friends and we will certainly continue to call them when something breaks and also when we finally get around to replacing the garage door with something newer and better insulated.
Description of Work: One of the torsion springs that counterbalances our double car garage door snapped on Wednesday. When we called Allegrezza on Thursday afternoon, the person who answered the phone said they would try to get someone out to us that day but the nearest guy was finishing up a job at another location and if he couldn't make it by the end of the day, someone would definitely be there in the morning. Andy showed up just after 10am the next morning. He recommended we replace both springs since the other had run the same number of cycles and could also break at any time. While replacing the springs, Andy checked the cables and rollers as well. He was in, got the job done, was paid and off to the next customer in 36 minutes. And that included having to help move some stuff out of the way in the garage!

One of our garage door tension springs broke over the weekend and I needed to get it fixed so I wouldn't have to lift the door up like I was on the World's Strongest Man Competition more than the one time it took to get my wife's car back out of the broken garage. I first called Sears (it's a Craftsman) and asked them what they had and how I could get it fixed. They said they do not carry springs at the store and they didn't do repairs. Next I called Allegrezza Door. A brief disclaimer, I grew up with the owner's son playing hockey together and know they have done commercial work for my father's company in remote locations around Alaska. I want to maintain the integrity of the Angie's list and I do not know them well enough to feel obligated to write this, but I did know that they are good people and hard workers prior to me calling them, and I had an awesome experience. When I called, the phone was answered after one ring and I was quickly told the price options and that there was someone there to respond to my service call. The phone was handed off to Eric who asked what I had, when I could meet, and said he could be there in 15 minutes. 15 minutes later I arrived at home and he was already there waiting for me. He took a quick look at the garage springs, said it would be 30-45 minutes and grabbed his tool bag. About 30 minutes later, he was done, paid, and I was leaving to return to work. Eric was quick, professional, and when I requested, he offered me an off-the-cuff cost to redo my entire door with a new insulated door, opener, remotes, the works at ~$1,500.00. This will definitely go on the "to-do" list, and Allegrezza will definitely be the one "to-do" it. Thank you, Grezza Door!
Description of Work: Allegrezza Door employee, Eric, replaced two tension springs for our Craftsman, 1/2 horsepower, double car garage door opener. One of the springs broke, making the door unable to open. Upon reccomendation that both springs should be replaced at the same time, because they have the same "cycle", I decided it made sense to do both based on timing and money; ~$155 for one spring, $205 for both. Included a quick look-over and service of wheels and runners.

The guy showed up on time and was a very colorful character. He was down to earth and listened to the problem we had with the garage door. We had an earthquake the week the door broke and had shifted the door off track. He explained that opening the door while not on a track had broken the tension spring and that he would have to replace the spring and repair the track. After replacing the spring and repairing the track, he also explained how to seal the garage door so we wouldn't have airflow on the garage ceiling. This made a huge difference in the temperature in the bedroom above the garage. He talked a lot and made us laugh but he got the job done within an hour. He was efficient and entertaining.
Description of Work: The garage door tension spring was replaced. The wiring for the tension spring was replaced and the track was repaired.
