Took a little longer than I expected. The counter tops are perfect and the install was very nicely done. They even offered to make a shelf board for the kitchen window out of any left over material for an additional cost. Was more than worth it! Be prepared to be patient. 4-6 weeks is the normal time from ordering to install. May take longer. They're busy because they're good at what they do. :-)

They were prompt, courteous and professional. The counter-tops were built in the time allotted and installed beautifully, in tandem with our plumber. Unlike someone else who provided feedback here, common sense dictates that any loose or breakable items be moved for construction. What a shame that the owner could have easily moved their breakable items in the area of the construction. Vibration is common in construction and if the owner had really valued their personal items, they would have removed their valuables previous to the work. It sounds also that they were fully reimbursed for those items, for the monetary amount that the client provided. Sounds like Alaska Counter tops did all that they could to satisfy the customer. I am having work done by Alaska Counter tops again for my house that is going on the market, as well as my new home in Anchorage. I recommend them highly.
Description of Work: I had three counter-tops replaced in an older condo that I purchased, two bathrooms and one master bedroom vanity.

I was happy with the installation at the time, and I had them install a solid surface counter in my own home in 2012. Now, there is water damage in the laminate counter at one of the seams. Since it is a rental, I am not sure exactly how it occurred. I went to Alaska Countertops with photographs of the problem asking them to help brainstorm a cost-effective solution. I was not blaming them, I was looking for help and was willing to pay for a repair. They perseverated on how the damage had occurred instead of moving forward and ultimately had no solution to offer, telling me the only thing that could be done was replacing the entire counter. They said they only had a one year warranty and really didn't expend much effort trying to help me, and I was not impressed with their manner of personal interaction. After several days of dealing with them, I moved on to another business. The people at the competitor business went out of their way to help me figure out a solution and find someone that could do the repair, even though they had no money to gain from the situation. I will definitely go to the competitor for my future countertop needs, as they were extremely kind and helpful and told me that they have a lifetime warranty on their product and installation.
Description of Work: They installed a laminate counter in my rental property in summer 2010.

[member name removed], After looking at the pictures you sent of the counter top, with the location of the damage in relation to the sink, it was obvious it was water damage. (unfortunately tenants never take care of things as if they were their own) You were asking for a solution, and the only satisfactory thing we could come up with was a replacement. Had the damage been in a different location, it may have been possible to attempt a repair. However, we did not want to charge you for an attempted repair, and you not be happy with the outcome. We strive for 100% quality, and trying to put a "band-aid" on that area would not have yielded a long term solution. You were happy enough with the counter tops that you had us do your own home, and i think that speaks volumes about our quality. Your solid surface tops do have a 10 year warranty, whereas the laminate does indeed only carry a 1 year warranty as you mentioned. I'm sorry that you went away without getting the answer you were looking for. Please feel free to call if you have any other concerns. Thank You

I had a really awful experience with them. They broke $425 worth of pottery and insisted that they were going to take it out of the paycheck of the employee who did the installing, but they couldn't make their payroll until I paid them. The work they did was okay, but it's not worth the trouble. They wouldn't negotiate anything about the broken stuff.

[removed member name], As mentioned when we spoke on the phone, we are sorry that some pottery was broken during the resurface of your counter tops. Our installers typically do not remove items from shelves, as they are focused on the matter at hand. I wish our installer, or you could have had the foresight to remove the dishes from your shelving prior to the work beginning. I guess no one really thought about them vibrating off of the open shelving below the counter tops. Apart from deducting the price you said they were worth from your total bill, I'm not sure what else you thought we should do. As a family owned company, we profit share with our employees throughout the year. So in a sense the money paid for your dishes did come out of "his" pocket. We are glad that you are happy with the work performed, other than the slight mishap that we all wish could have been avoided. Thank You, Alaska Countertops.

The owners and the staff were responsive to our questions and concerns. They returned calls promptly and were courteous.
Description of Work: John and Carl, the owners, assisted in the selection of granite (kitchen) and Quartz (bathrooms) materials. Counters were fabricated and installed in a timely manner. The installers protected the floorings and tidied up after themselves.

I went to Alaska Countertops because I try to buy local when I can. What I initially thought would be a good experience turned ugly immediately following installation. The one pro, is that I am actually happy with the workmanship of the countertops, but the severe lack of communication by their staff (to me AND to each other) about installation procedures and communication about problems thereafter is NOT worth the headache. I tried several times to contact the owner but he was not there and the staff would not tell him I called so I could never get a call back in order to discuss my complaints directly with him. The staff just kept trying to placate me and even argued with me on several itemsthat were clearly their mistake. For example: 1.) The sales lady never explained to me that after the installers completely unhooked my sink and dishwasher, that it's not common practice to re-connect any of the plumbing. So when I came home after work at 5pm, I had to run to home depot (to buy 2 drains-which I wasn't told to anticipate buying before installation) and also the installers broke the tailpiece pipe going to the dish washer....so I had to go back to home depot to buy at 9pm. It wasn't expensive, but it would have been extremely helpful to know that 1. ) i need to buy drains before install 2.) hire a plumber for the day of install (i'm lucky my fiance knows how to do plumbing or else i would have been screwed). and 3) that the installers would have just fessed up and said they sheared off a pipe so I didn't have to run back to home depot. With all that said, I called them after the install to let them know they should be explaining these things to customers. The guy told me that the sales lady was new and didn't know. About 3 weeks later after the install, I called back because they never hauled away my sink which has been sitting in my driveway the whole time looking unsightly...and the lady answered. She said she had heard about my complaints and told me very rudely that it is known and quot;industry wideand quot; that they don't re-connect the plumbing. I told her that I am not and quot;In the industryand quot; SO I WOULDN'Tand quot; KNOW THAT. I was simply trying to help HER out by explaining my frustrations as a customer so it doesn't continue to happen to other customers. 2) The second issue is that no one ever asked me what was to be hauled away on the day of the install. I even left my number for the installers and specifically told them to PLEASE CALL ME if they have ANY questions. Nope, they never called, they just hauled away the one thing I wanted to keep (a wooden countertop) and left my old countertop and sink on the porch, which were the two things I didn't want to keep! So when I called the next day after the install, the lady told me I could pick up the wooden top at the store. After thinking about it, I felt that I shouldn't have to drive all the way across town to pick up something that she should have communicated about. So I called back and the guy answered. He said okay, just call him when I get the faucet off the sink and they would come pick everything up and bring back the wooden countertop. So I did call him and tell him that and it just sat there for 3 weeks. So I called back, the owner actually answered, and I started to tell him about everything (which he was completely unaware of)..and he said he wanted to look at my file and call me back. We have been playing phone tag and every time I call the staff say he's not there and I know he's not getting the messages because all they say, is and quot;well I'll have this conversation with himand quot; and the lady kept rudely interrupting me, and told me that she already and quot;took the hitand quot; for not communicating to me about what to haul away. So at this point, she tells me they threw away the wooden counter top and she doesn't know what resolution I want. I told her I was calling to have this conversation with the owner. And she says, and quot;I will have this conversation with himand quot;. I better not hold my breathe for that one. SO PLEASE CONSIDER THIS BEFORE dealing with a company who does not COMMUNICATE with each other, or takes notes during phone calls or communicates with their customers what to expect during and after an install.

They came and measured, then laid out the stone, I was even invited in to look at it before they finished the edges. They were a week early to install the stone and took their time and did a great job color matching on the seams. If you did not know where they are you would not find them. Awesome job on the install and cutting of the stone to match up. Pictures are posted under Anthony Bradford Contracting if you wold like to see the finished job. We will be hiring them again to do both bathrooms and the fireplace to!!
Description of Work: They had us come to the shop and pick out a few different stones for our counter top. Then talked to us about the different stone and why one was different than the other. We chose a very large stone with uneven swirls through it probably one of the most difficult to match seams on to be realistic but the counter top was just awesome with our new cab-nits.

They are well known. They put the wrong sink in our counter tops which is a big deal because it's all cut out for it. We called John and he said to see if we can live with it so we tried it for a month and it wasn't happening. We called John back and he said no problem. They tore the old one out and put the new in and said sorry. I wouldn't even consider going to someone else.
Description of Work: I used Alaska Countertops and a couple of my contractor clients used them to.
